Has anyone got direct push email working with WM5.0 yet? I'm not clear on wether it needs the messaging and security feature pack in additon to Exchange 2003 SP2. I'm running wm5.0 on my Himilaya and Exchange 2003 SP2 with the 'direct push over https' enabled but no joy...
you'll need new ROM incorporating MSFP on your device to do so
rats. I was hoping someone would say 'you'll need the msfp - here's a link to pre-release i found down behind the sofa' or something. it's incorporated into the rom is it?

Dear all,
when configure the email setting to HTML format, it will allways revert back to plain text format .
how can I set format email into HTML
Do I miss something.
thx

I think that if you are using Outlook & linking to Exchange you need Exchange 2007 running (not really that easy either).
As for linking to any other email back end I have no idea, but I doubt it can be done easily.
Mobile Device Center 6.1 Fixed It
Hey I asked that question a couple of weeks ago, but Microsoft released an update to device center soon afterwards. Anyway, it fixed it for me. I had 2 issues. What you describe on the PC, and blanked out on PPC. They were both fixed for me by installing Mobile Device Center 6.1
Mobile Device Center 6.1 Fixed It only for Vista
As far as I know , MDC 6.1 only for Vista ??

I saw in you other post that you are running : 8.1.122...strange version ...
Exchange 2007 SP1 is : 8.1.240.0
And Exchnage 2007 is : 8.0.685.0
What's your exchange ?
SP1 beta 2
rollup package 3 for exchange 2007 is needed
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/934402
Certificate?
I also BELIEVE that you need a CA Security Certificate. Self Signed doesn't work. Don't have direct proof of this statement only from reading documentation and the fact that in other arenas (including Sharepoint integration) you have to use a CA Cert.
anyone tried this with getztek ?
0x85010015 - 1
Also have you tried the disable TASKS in Activesynch, soft reset, enable TASKS in sync trick?
0x85010015 - 2
For testing just yourself with a qualititively different phone in terms of either hardware or ROM on the phone - this is a long shot because you don't have others at the Enterprise to test this idea before deciding it is only happening to you or everyone
It is a long PIA to do but actually worked for me the other day. Remember in this case - the clue was that it was only one person in the Enterprise having the problem. All others (with identical phones) were not.
Somewhere DEEP in Google Groups is a discussion (sorry I lost the link) of this error code which saved me the other day when it was only happening to ONE person in the Enterprise.
In essence there is a corrupt entry in their Exchange Storage somewhere. The fix is to:
Back their mailbox up to a PST by ExMerge or Export tool in Outlook
Run the PST repair tool on the PST file
Delete their Mailbox in Exchange.
Run Exchange Cleanup
Create a new empty mailbox
Import their data from the PST file.
Like I say - long shot but worked for me.
I was able to test on a SP1 Exchange 2K7 a real one and it works
Cheers

I use a hosted exchange mailbox, syncing & push email work perfect for me, even with WM6.1, never tried it with the original roms but my cooked one has no issue with exchange for sure!
Hi, I just upgraded to the official Dutch WM 6.1 ROM. Everything is working great... except Exchange sync! I get the error 0x85010015 too. The system administrator says he is already running Exchange 2007 SP1 which would contain the mensioned update.
Does anyone have an idea on what I can try to get Exchange sync working?
Exchange 2007 SP1 here, and works fine with every WM6.1 ROM i have tested (including official ones by HTC)...
Cheers.
I this a production E2K7 environment? Why not install RTM bits???
I'm on HTC's "official" WinMo 6.1 Rom on my Tilt and have no issues with email sync ... as for certs to the listener in the ISA server, you can use self signed (not recommender), but unified certs with multiple alternate names are problematic on ISA Server 2006.
Hi
Is there any way to activate push email in cruise.

Do you have a service (or work) that provides Exchange or push email?

Yes my dear we have "lotus v 7".
Regards
I might be completely off on this one, but it is my understanding that you need an e-mail service running on MS Exchange Server to support Push Mail on the Windows Mobile platform (e.g. mail2web.com or emoze.com). I don't think Lotus can be used in place of MS Exchange Server.

I think you are correct. I believe Lotus users need to install a 3rd party solution for push email. I could be wrong though.
Yep we use lotus notes at work and its a complete nightmare. There's a lot of 'workarounds' but I've not found anything reliable. The fact that I can't sync my data as well as I could with Outlook is putting my off getting another windows mobile phone.
Seven software has a product that lets you do push from a Domino-based mail server but it requires software to be installed on either your Domino server OR on your desktop. If you install it on your desktop, then you can only get mail pushed while your PC is logged into the network. It's called a "workgroup connector". It works great, but it isn't quite a simple as if you had a Exchange, POP3, IMAP, or OWA accessible mail server. If your Domino instance does have POP3, then you don't need that, and and can simply use the phone software.
Check here for more info:

Download link at top will net you the software.

Seven is otherwise great software. Works like a charm.
Kerio Emailserver has activesync enabled, and is superior to Exchange.

Check the first link in my post above. Its for Seven software. It works like Blackberry for alot of different accounts and is simply awesome IMO.
What type of account are you trying to push mail from?
I got my orbit 2 yesterday and don't know how to make it talk to my exchange. any ideas?
To the people using push email... how much time your battery works.
I just bought a polaris one week ago, and if I activate push email my battery deads after around five to six hours.
The same happens with my previous phone (an N95).
I wonder if this feature is really usable at all.

i've the Kerio Mailserver here running... but push-mail doesn't really work
is there some additional activation necessary?
does it work with you?
I see from another posting in the diamond forum that people have managed to get BB Connect running on the diamond.
At the moment I use system7 on my nokia n95 to get email pushed from my work exchange server, however everyone else in the office has a blackberry (I didn't want one of these hence my finding an alternative solution).
does anyone have any experience of the direct push technology offered with windows mobile 6?
I might use the bbconnect application (if I can get it working) as it appears to do everything I want it to, but I just thought that if there's already an app in WM that does the trick, I might as well stick with that.
You say you have exchange at work?
The push email system will work just nicely with it, you might have to get onto your network admin and see if they offer activesync connection to it but its very likely they do. You sync your email, contacts, tasks and calender with it...works a treat.
I currently use DenaiL's service on here and it works very nicely...you should be up and running pretty swiftly if ur network admin confirms you can use it.
EDIT: Activesync is built into EVERY ROM in windows mobile and this is the primary way to sync the device over the air (via GPRS/HSDPA or wifi to get push email) or via USB.
we have exchange server at work, but I doubt they'll let me add any software (activesync) to it.
Exchange already has the software needed in it, its a native function of exchange to allow a windows mobile device to sync with it.
EAS is a native part of exchange, but it is turned off by default i think.
I know my place have it turned off, despite all the company mobile supporting EAS, and all the employees using HTC devices that natively support it.
Go figure.
I think they want to save a couple of hundred of quid on a certificate, and spend thousands of pounds on corporate intellisync licenses instead.
so my company would have to invest in a new license to enable EAS?
I'm pretty sure they would have to buy a license to allow me to use BBConnect too? I know that we are running 5 or 6 BBs in the company, each one requiring a license....or have I been misled?
thanks, I really want to ensure that my push email will work perfectly on the device when I get it.
I dont own a HTC Touch Diamond or a Touch Pro. I own a HTC Touch and use Hosted Exchange as my primary email service provider. I use the direct-push technology in WM6 and sync with my exchange account. It works like a charm and I have yet to experience any problems with it. I get my email on my Touch within 10 seconds of receiving the email in my inbox.
Memory fades about Exchange 2003, however, I *think* Exchange direct-push is enabled by default on Exchange 2007. Someone please correct me if I am wrong.
Exchange 2003 w/ SP2 automatically enabled Direct-Push. Same w/ all flavors of 2007. With Exchange 2007, admins DO need to enable Active Sync, but they can do it on a user by user basis if they want to. It shouldn't be a big deal for your IT admins to turn it on for you. Hope this helps.
excellent, thanks for the replies. We are running 2003 SP2, so hopefully in a few days time I might have proper push email. the app I'm currently running (system7) is totally crap at the moment..had nothing pushed for nearly a week!!
I have currently TNT 11.0.4.0 installed
Unfortunatly I cannot sync to our company's exchange server (incl SSL) . It keeps giving me 0x85010013 errors. (The admins won't change there policy for me).
Does anybody have any luck with another 6.1 or 6.5 in this setup?
THX
I've had Cracing's HD 2.1 hooked up to an Exchange 2007 box successfully, but it was a bit of a ball-ache getting certificates sorted out (nothing to do with WinMo - certain incompatibilites with Windows 2003, Exchange 2007 and Windows 7 and certificate services auto-enrollment)
The certifactes are ok for my.
Problems is: The company's server has strict security policy enabled. (So my device can be wiped remotly). Ths causes my problem. Si I will move back to 6.0
(The original MS 6.1 works ok too, but is very unstable)
Found the solution here thoug
