g7b0 on xda power connector problem - MDA II, XDA II, 2060 Accessories

I have the g7b0 keyboard on an xda 11i, sw loaded ok, ppc moaned that it was for an earlier version of os but it woks fine.
however the power lead from my usb that fits my cradle is to large to fit the power socket on the g7b0, anyone else had this problem ?
do i need an xda charger?
thanks
dave

Neither xda, xda 2 or ipaq will fit. You need a y splitter from the manufacturer or any charger that gives approx 5 volts that will fit the barrel on the keyboard.

G7B0 Keyboard with XDAIIi
I also have this keyboard, have never managed to get it to work with my IIi, although it worked fine with my II. I have tried the original software, the 1.29 version, can't find the G7B0Setup_US_v200.exe file anywhere, which is supposed to be the latest version. What software are you using, and how did you get it to work?

XDA 2 Carkit

Has anyone seen a photo of the base connector for the new XDA, it would be kind of nice if it fits my existing car kit ( Not much chance of that)
Can anyone help
Thank you
Paul Jones
Not the photo. I have tried to connect xdaII (dummy) to my car kit! it works just fine.
Thanks for the feedback Andrej, maybe I wont have to junk my carkit at the moment !!
Regards
Paul Jones
I am very sure that the Xda II will use a different carkit to the existing Xda - someone at O2 told me this.
I am in a similar situation - I think I will try to sell my Xda carkit now!
Hi
I do nit have a car Kit but I suspect as the XDA II has and SDIO slot and the XDA does not, then whilst they may 'fit' they may not function correctly.
Cheers
Ric
It will not be compatibel!
There will be a new Car Kit for MDA II
Is that going to be the same for other accessories? E,g GPS, keyboard etc?
If the socket is the same then maybe there is a possibility of a rewire to match up the io interface.
Parrot CK-3000 V3.00 Works Well With XDA II
I tested Parrot CK-3000 Works well with XDA II
The XDA II works fine in an XDA Full Carkit with the following exceptions:
The phone does not automatically switch on when you insert it into the cradle (the XDA did).
The phone is a slightly tighter fit in the cradle (its thicker) but still fits fine. The top clip of the cradle does not come all the way down but rests on the top of the XDAII, which is also fine.
I use it daily and have no problems.
As a point, all my XDA peripherals work with my XDA II including my Foldable Keyboard.
I can second this.......just received my MDA II and everything works fine with the carkit: Handsfree phone, GPS, Power.......
It is a bit tight, but I heated up the bottom of the carkit with a blower till it became soft and then put in the MDA II and let it cool down. Now it is quite workable without having to buy a new carkit........
xda II car kit has plugin for gps devices, so is slightly different. Got this from the blurb on www.o2.co.uk/xda
Carkit
To use your device in the car - or truck - you need to install a fully wired and properly mounted carkit, as mandated by recent UK Legislation.
These units are not provided with aerial kits - these are separately provided by the carkit installer and are appropriate to your vehicle.
These carkit's are especially designed to fit Xda and Xda II respectively, and is built to integrate with most modern car connectors. In addition, the Xda II carkit supports direct connection of a GPS unit - such as that provide by TomTom Navigator - allowing you to use Xda as a navigation system.
Xda Carkit - AHTXDAKN - £176.50
We have not seen ANY existing XDA II carkits yet, so we cannot judge to soon.
At the moment all the photo's referring to the carkit from the providers are the XDA I carkit.
This carkit always had the GPS external connection, I have been using it for almost a year now with TomTom and a Holux GM 210 mouse. I have cut the XDA connector and connected the appropriate wires to the GPS mouse......works like a charm, also with the New MDA II.
Look at my review I wrote almost a year ago (It's in Dutch, but you can throw a webtranslator over it if you want to):

Hi
I am thinking about buying a CK3000 but was worried that there may be a Bluetooth compatibility issue (like there is with some Bluetooth GPS systems at the moment Tom Tom + Navman apparently). Is your CK3000 working fully with the XDA 11 via Bluetooth as a Handsfree System i.e. sound through your car speakers, mute the stereo when a call comes in etc? Do you know of a supplier who will also install/configure it?
What else would I need besides the CK3000 - A XDA 11 Passive Holder and a Cigar lighter Charger?
Any help advice you can give me is very much appreciated.
Steve Grunnill
The parrot CK3000 has a Handsfree and a headset profile.
The XDA/MDA 2 only has a headset profile.
So as long as the carkit has a headsetprofile also, it will work...
Why not use the XDA II with the speaker phone enabled ??
Have you tried it ?
it's hard to quickly enable, and it's not loud enough...
Car charger seems ok...
I immediately tried my xda car charger in my xda II and it fits and seems to work in that the orange charging light comes on.
But could I be doing some damage that I am unaware of? (Incidentally some people refer to a cradle: my car charger is not a cradle...)
No the pinlayout of the XDA and MDA/XDA 2 are the same...
Has anyone found a car cradle for the XDA II (hardwired not BT). I have searched several sites an I cannot find anything. Surely there must be enough users for a company to warrant the development

Tom Tom Navigator 2 Bluetooth

I have now purchased the above GPS system and with the Tom Tom Nav2 BT/XDA II fix (dowloadable off the TT website) have it working absolutely fine....wow at last!!
Question, before I blow something. If anyone has the TT Navigator 2 Wireless kit (and possibly the wired too), it comes with a Cigar lighter charger that powers the GPS unit and this device/lead has an "extension power connector" piggy backed on it so it can connect to a PDA also. It comes with a connector for the Ipaq, not suitable for the XDA II. However, with the XDA II supplied acessories comes a small plug in connector for connecting to the XDA II AC power lead, so that you can charge the XDA II outside of its USB cradle, and this connector fits the piggy back type connection. I am obviously wanting to use this in lieu of the supplied Ipaq connector to enable charging of the GPS and my XDA II simultaneously. Anyone know if this is OK? Logically, it seems to be the answer to charging both devices from one Cigar lighter? Don't want to blow anything. Comments welcomed, thank you. Steve
i use the xda adapter with the cigar lighter charger and it works fine
Hi Steve,
I use XDA II connector with the cigar lighter, no problem.
Hi Steve
The same here , I have used it for 2 weeks no problems.

Lost my XDAII adapter/charger....

Could I use this one? And still charge and sync with my cradle?
http://www.pocket-man.net/shop/enter.html?target=O2XDA.html
USB All in One Package is what I mean...
if it's made for the xda series
if it's made for the ipaq then no
they share the connector type but not the wireing
really on xpansys they said that I could use the 220v charger for the Imate?
And this product was also suitable for Ipaqs.
So i thought Imate=XDAII=Qtek2020
and if it's adaptor can chgarge an ipaq....the (much cheaper) Ipaq charger should be able to charge the Qtek 2020.
Could this be true?
according to this http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Connectors
the plug is the same, but they are connected different. So I would not advice it.
Would this be a better option?
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=5743474294
It wont connect with the cradle..but without an extra battery it's not a must for me.
You have to understand any adapter that is made to work on the 1010, siemend sx56, and so on will not work on an xda 2 or 2020. It's very simple don't buy one unless it says it will work with your particular model.

[Q] GT 2 Multimedia Dock?

Simple question and I can't find an answer no matter where I look or who I call.
Can anyone verify if the multimedia Dock: Link that came out for the GT version 1 models is or isn't compatible with the GT2?
I'm wanting to install an in dash tablet in my car. These samsung models are about the only ones out there that have a small dock that can hide behind the dash, which have a power port and an RCA audio out port, allowing me to charge it constantly while I'm driving and send audio out to an amplifier pumping jams to my speakers.
Anyways, if anyone could answer this question it'd be a big help.
Does not work. Not for me at least, and it is designed forspecific tablet as well.

The keyboard dock works fine for me, so does the OTG cable and HDMI dock, dunno about what you have.

Did you buy this online? If so, where (url) and do you have a product number?
I bought an a/v cable which did not work. So, before I buy some new products I want to be sure that it will work.
Thank you in advance!
HDTV Adapter is EPL-3PHPBEGSTA. Works with P6200 and P5100. Official Samsung product, bought from a Samsung store. It's weird, though, the same adapter did not work on a friend's P3100 from a different country. It just brings up one of those 'open with' dialog boxes with unrelated apps on connecting. I think this is a software glitch, though, because mine is on the latest stock firmware, and it works perfectly. Tons of websites also list this as a compatible accessory for all Tab 1s and 2s.
USB host cable is just a cheapie cable costing a couple of bucks off ebay. Works on P6200, P7100, P7300, P3100, P5100. Tried and tested all.
Also all available Samsung keyboard docks work with all available tabs, there's only a removable plastic guide stand that's different. In my case, the same dock for the P6200 worked with the P5100 once I removed the plastic. In my case, I procured a keyboard dock for the P7500 and modified the plastic to fit my P5100. Works just fine after modding the stand.

Help with Mhl hdmi adapter cable?

Hi guys i purchased a hdmi to mhl adapter cable for my S4 i9505 (i have attached image, intented for S4) which is rooted running on stock rom 4.2.2 JB.
It is not working with my s4, i have noticed that the mhl port does not insert fully into my s4, and goes in about 3/4, is this normal?
I have tried restarting phone and tv, connected to power source correctly etc. Are there any other considerations?
On a side note, i tried this cable on my Note 10.1 2014 tablet and it inserts fully in, i get the "hdmi connected" message and it works flawlessly. However its not working on my S4.
If anyone has any suggestions or solutions, please let me know. Thanks.

Maybe needs power adapter connected to the phone. I know the Genuine Hdtv Hdmi adapter works with the S4 without requiring power connected. Also Its Mhl 2.0, not sure what ur cable is ? 2.0 or 1.0?
It is connected to power source, the issue is its not inserting fully into my s4. I tried it on a mates S3lte today and it worked and went in fully and worked.
What could be the issue? Any suggestions?
P.s. im not sure if its mhl 1.0 or 2.0 but the cable was advertised to work with s4.

When I got my Genuine Samsung MHL adapter, I couldn't get it to work at first either. Same problem, the connector looked much longer than regular micro-USB, and I found it strange that it stuck out so much. In the end, I figured that there was a reason that the MHL connector is longer, and I pushed it in slightly harder, and it finally snapped in properly, and my S4 told me that the adapter was detected. It does take more effort than a regular micro-usb cable to connect properly, so try using just slightly more pressure than normal, until it pops in all the way, or at least until the device is detected. If veins are popping out of your forehead, then you're pushing way too hard, and something else is wrong.

I tried to put alot of pressure but it did not go in. Werid thing is, i tried the mhl adapter cable with another friends S4 and even on that, it didnt go in and gave the same issue.
Now im wondering if Samsung possibily made some early batches of the S4 that take the 5pin connector? And that being the reason why it does not insert properly into two handsets i have tried on. Any ideas or suggestions people? Thanks
