Well, did read all the ROM-related stuff everywhere. Realised that as a fact of life, the last OFFICIAL Rom we're gonna see for beloved Prophet is 2.15.Something Dopod version. Is there any chance we can get something faster than that? Have anyone heard of something close to what i'm looking for?

did'nt u see the 2.20 qtek rom for the prophet?
i'm using it,and its good and i used to use the imate rom,2.13 i think?
give it a try. i found it to be reliable,fast,no extra programs in the extended rom(that could be arranged).
me the same, 2.20 from qtek, but it's a little old AKU 2.2 but its fast and stable, AND ORIGINAL from qtek

And the AKU 2.2.0 as there is now AKU 3.3.? The build version of windows mobile
but the qtek rom is good,right??

I'm thinking of trying this rom...I have heard some people complain about the radio part of the rom though. I'm not sure if it was with this official Qtek rom or another one. I takes soooo long to reinstall all those apps though .
use back up software
try to use a back up soft ware like spb backup,it will really help

Thats not an easy one, I tried the WM6 rom, and it worked but with the mentioned bugs, but it took all of my available ram, and kept coming up with memery shortage errors, does WM6 need more memory for it to operate, and will it ever have enough on a prophet?

Personally I think that we should continue with WM6. More 3rd party applications will be developed for it in the long run, and it makes sense to future proof our Prophets.
WM6 please. Since the official wm6 has been released, why we need the AKU3.3? I really like the update option in WM6. And a bounch of other features in WM6 is also cool.

I think aku 3.3 needs just a bit more tweaking and that should come first, right?

I loved WM6 only probs were
reset on return from standby (obex fix) only when not plugged in mains or usb
charging/batt status doesnt work after return from standby
Sometimes looses BT and Wifi information
I think the first two are linked. The device can only come out of standby if the obex dll registry is removed or renamed. maybe if the obex thing was fixed the charging might continue to work!!!
Excellent work though Jesterz - I use your 2.2r1 in production. Rock Solid and I have even kept the Jesterz Splash Screen

It is useless to play around with ext rom only. The core problems like IR malfunctioned, USB charging unstable that need to be fixed.
Of course we should look forward to WM6.

yes, no more repacking of extrom. we should switch to wm6 as soon as possible.(jesterz don't wait to complete poll, its
already crying for wm6) Beside this we should come forward to proper rom cooking kitchen for
prophet. I think Prophet forum lacks R&D very much

how about unlocking the extended rom on htc excalibur aku3.0 for a change ,tired of seeing all these hacks for ppc!

I think it too, but you can't force people to buy prophets so they could turn their heads our way!
WM6 is my choice.
I think it will take a long time to stabilise wm6 rom but eventually we will reap the rewards as it is the future.
WM6 for me. Let's prepare our Prophets for the future.

You need to use ROMs made for the Universal on a Universal, this forum is full of them. The latest PDAVIET ROM is the newest.
But jwright's is the best.

Agreed, but, those leaks always make me roll back to WM5
You can't use a ROM for Hermes on a Universal. It's like putting a truck engine on a sports car, it can be done... but you're going to have problems.
There's really nothing on the WM6 that's worth upgrading to. Not to metion you lose the ability to do video call.. (which really sucks for me since video call here in my country (PH) has the same price as a regular call and most people here have 3G phones). Helmi's 1.3.1 WM5 AKU 3.5 is still the best.
hi, im a bit of a noob at my prophet so please dont flame, always had an spv c500/550/600 but upgraded to a nokia n95 (rubbish) and got rid of it for a spvm600, I've tried some of the wm6 roms, they look nice but the battery life is no good on them all, however wm6 let me connect to my wifi using wpa and the orange wm5 rom didnt. does anyone know of a good wm5 rom that works well and looks good? the cube thing looks nice but isnt that useful so im not that bothered about all that.

As i'm reading many guides here i read al lot of person that has wm6, so i wanted to know if it was really usefull to uprgade my wm from 5 to 6, and what are the main differences between the two version ...

The one I like most is prophet IX
but, after a while, I rolled back to WM5 (faster)

wm6.1 seems to be fast. my rom history as in my sig. so far no problems. no real advantage really upgrading.
don't fix what's not broken, but if u are curious, just give it a try. that's how i started out & never looked back to wm5. obviously this was after my warranty period.
if i do get a kaiser/tytn II, will probably wait till finish warranty period & get flashing!
i must admit, flashing to new roms is exciting & u kinda feel that u have a new phone...
just my 3 cents....
p/s if u do flash, make sure u know what ur doing! READ THE WIKI & THE UPGRADE GUIDES BEFORE ANYTHING ELSE!!!
