Hi there.
I have just purchased an SPV M700 and since I just recently moved to Canada, I'm planing also to use it as navigator.
Can someone tell me which GPS Bluetooth Receiver to get? Is there any specification that I need to look for, or all of them work?
I look forward to hear from anyone
Thanks
Why?
Why would you want to buy a BT GPS receiver, when your device already has a built-in GPS receiver?
If the GPS is not yet activated, look at
http://trinityguides.info/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=38&Itemid=66
for activation.

WoW, I didn't know that.
I though I would need additional Bluetooth GPS Receiver in order for this thing to work.
And the reason why I though I need it, is becuase under: CHANGE PREFERENCES / SHOW GPS STATUS / CONFIGURE I get to choose between:
- TomTom Wired GPS Receiver
- Other Bluetooth GPS receiver
- Other NMEA GPS Receiver
- TomTom Bluetooth GPS receiver
Well, right now I have this:
-------
Windows Mobile 5.0 with the Messaging and Security Features Pack
OS 5.1.342 (Build 15096.3.0.0)
Processor: SC32442A-400MHz
Memory: 49.35
Operator version 19.123.1.615
ROM version: 1.23.61.5
ROM date: 01/25/07
Radio version 1.30.00.01
Protocol Version: 32.63.7020.08H
Do you think I should upgrade to WWE WM6?
And what ROM should I choose to flush?
Once I upgarde to WM6 and upgrade my ROM then I can follow instructions on http://trinityguides.info
-------
Thanks a lot though for getting back to me
kind regards,
ash

If I am not mistaking, GPS was first activated in Radio 1.36 and onwards....
You need to upgrade the radio to activate the GPS - have a look at the above link to trinityguides. The upgrade of the radio does not erase any of your settings etc., so there is no reason to upgrade the OS, if you´re pleased with what you currently have.
I use MARY 3.3.5 SL (WM6), and am very pleased with it - but to each it's own.
Use TomTom version 6.03, as the option to use internal GPS receiver was added in that version. Otherwise choose "Other NMEA GPS Receiver" - and choose "com9" and "115200 Baud".
You might try to do the latter first, to see if the GPS is indeed activated.

Just download one of the many free or trial GPS apps and set the receiver to com 9 in the GPS software's settings, give it a few minutes outside or near a window, then then you will see if you have GPS built in.
All new Trinities for the past 12 months should have GPS built in
Hey guys,
Thanks very much for your help.
Finally I did manage to upgrade radio version and rom aswell.
The GPS was enabled and it did worked fine!
Yes it did work fine, but not anymore!
Why? Cause I did a stupid mistake and I did a hard reset.
By performing hard reset, my TomTom has gone away :-(
Now I need to find a way how to put it back...
Thanks a lot for your support.
you can download a copy of tomtom 6.03 from htcs website (legal folks so dont flame me) and you get a free city map. past that i cant comment
Hi,
Anybody successfully using their Polaris with Garmin Mobile XT and GPS 10x (a bluetooth GPS receiver)?
Are you able to use your bluetooth headset at the same time that the external GPS receiver is communicating with the PDA?
Thanks much
Umm.. just a curioity question.
Why to use Polaris AND Garmin? Having 2 GPS devices does not make sense to me...

No problem, here's my reasons. Let me know if you think otherwise.
Currently have Mobile XT & Garmin GPS 10x.
My version of Mobile XT will not recognise the internal GPS.
Since I love Mobile XT (UI and routing accuracy), have no choice for the moment but to use with Garmin bluetooth GPS 10x.
If I find another navigation app that is as good and will work with internal GPS, then I'll switch. Or if my GPS 10x dies, then perhaps I'll shell out another USD 99 to buy the version of Mobile XT that runs on flash card and works with internal GPS.
And I'm keen on the Polaris for all its features so it'll be a real bummer if mobile XT with GPS 10x doesn't work well on it.

Mine work with internal gps(cracked version).
Try to use Franson GpsGate - use Garmin output option via virtual COM port there - i think it will work

Try to follow this instructions (in spanish)
http://groups.google.com/group/mapearengmxt/browse_thread/thread/10d52223a93ec4d6
and downloading the file (suggested in the instructions) at the end of this URL:
http://groups.google.com/group/mapearengmxt
You'll be able to use Mobile XT with the internal GPS
Appreciate the replies! Actually my question is:
- Has anybody used the Touch Cruise with Mobile XT and GPS 10x via bluetooth?
and
- can you use your bluetooth headset at the same time with no major problems?
Guys, thanks for giving other useful information (good to know) but for the moment, the above are actually the answers I'm looking for.
Thanks much!
Hi I was wondering if there was anything I could do about the fact that everytime I turn tomtom on the bluetooth turns on as well. It seems like a waste of battery power, considering that tomtom uses an internal GPS! Could anyone advice?
Kind Regards,
Will
BT & TomTom
Mine doesn't!
Make sure you have Other NMEA Gps and Com4 selected.
Cheers

My Omnia wont link up with my Bluetooth headunit.
My old XDA Orbit wouldnt either but after installing a new rom I had it to function
I have tried the Broadcomm BT stack but I get the usual insufficient memory error.
Does anyone know any stacks that will work on the Omnia? It is frustrating as my Pioneer £250 BT Headunit is useless at the moment
Any help much appreciated
bump
no ideas?
My XDA Orbit works with Black&Blue v5.0 ROM and using Jetware Mobile software it all works perfectly.
How do I mirror the bluetooth settings from the orbit?

NeoMM: are u able to receive a file via BT in the Magician?
I don't want to go back to WM2003!
I think there is a problem with the BT stack on WM6.1, went I try to send a file to the magician it wakes up but no notification is provided (and then "Connection refused" on the pc).
is possible to hack the BT in some way?
assente,
I can send files to other devices, but I can`t receive files from them.
up
How do the others WM6.1/Magician fix the Bluetooth stack?
tomtom doesnt like GPS from BT, but i use Igo 8.3.2 and GoogleMaps and it works well..
Pairing of BT GPS
I can confirm a perfect pairing of Holux 236 and Holux M1000B with the WM6.1 BT set up.
I can confirm a perfect operation with 4 separate GPS software Sirftech, GPS-info, Swedish Hastighetskamror(speed cameras), Swedish pocket kartex.
I can confirm a perfect pairing and file transfer with / to Sonyericson Xperia
I have sofar not tested TomTom.
Please devide your info concerning pairing and operation of GPS software.
