I have xda IIs, home, favourites and recent locations deleted on exit, can anyone help? :?
as discussed before here files are probably copied directly from cd. This means they are read only and will not be updated!

Hi guys, I have tomtom navigator 5 on my xda ii. When I set my preferences (home page, etc.) and exit the program, the settings are not saved when I return. On my pc I would assume one of the files is set to read only, but I can't find any way of changing the file properties on my xda. Can anyone please help??? :?:
is your memory card write protected?
HELP!!
Updated to Navigator 5.1 thanks to some great advice here, but Navigator still isn't saving my Home, Favourites etc...
Anyone know how (or if) I can get it to do so?
Thanks in advance

I had to copy maps to desktop, right click properties and un tick read only, move back to folder and it all works.
Thanks.
Am I right in thinking the maps should be stored on the storage card? Mine are just in 2 folders - 1 for GB & 1 for Austria.
Oh No!!
did as you suggested, but now it can't find the maps at all!!
Can anyone tell me where the map files should be stored - thanks.
You can get TT to save home location, favourites etc by deleting the Great-Britain-Map.cfg file. This will then be re-created the next time TT loads and now retain your information
Hi,
I have just installed tomtom 5 on my pda. looks good. I have changed my home location and added some favourites and changed some POI. if i exit out of tomtom and then go back in, all my changes are lost.
Does anyone know why and if there is a way to get round this??
Thanks in advance

thats weird, i have no problem with my tom tom and its cracked, are you using a legit one? and how have you installed the files, did you put the files on the defult directory being your mmc and not in folders?? if you are not using legit one you might have to download another one else where or download it again.

You do exit in the correct way dont you?
Make sure all the files are not 'read only'...

hamzar,
Make sure your SD card is not locked, and delete the (map_name).cfg file in the map folder. Next time you start tomtom, the file is recreated. Should sort it, jobs a good'un, etc.

I have an O2 XDA Serra (branded Touch Pro). In TF3d, if I scroll across to the internet tab, I have a pre-set shortcut to MySpace. I will never ever want to visit MySpace, yet it appears I cannot change or remove this shortcut.
Am I missing something, or am I stuck with everyone that sees my phone thinking I'm 13 years old?

Turn off TF3D
Find "27c65cbd_manila" in Windows directory.
Copy to your desktop and keep original for backup.
Open the copy with Notepad and tweak the "OperatorLinks"
Copy and replace into Windows folder.
Restart TF3D and you should see the changes.
Go Bruce, thanks man.
Just got round to doing this, but the file referenced above has Youtube in the operator links section, and not MySpace. There are zillions of _manila files, which one do I need? Or should I start manually searching?
Just got my hands on htc hd2 yesterday and love it.
Ive installed and got working tomtom but did it by copying the files to the sd card rather than installing so i could avoid the bluetooth problems.
Now the only problem is I can only run tomtom through file explorer and cant seem to get the tomtom icon in the quick link section on the home screen.
Anyone out there can help out a windows mobile newbie
