Hi guys!
Newbie to the Forum and would like to clear something up. I own and run the followng devices, all on O2 here in the UK:
1: XDA - guess this is the Wallaby
2: XDAII - guess this is the Himalaya
3: XDAIIi - is this referred to as "Alpine" or "Andes"?
4: XDAIIs - must be the Blue Angel
On browsing the forums I see references to the Alpine and Andes - are they the same model i.e. XDAIIi? Read the WiKi pages and there it appears as the Alpine but see reference to Andes as well.
Apologies if this has been answered before - just want to clear it up in my own mind.
Alpine is 2020i.
It's seems that Andes was other name for this device or his first name.
Today, only Alpine name is correct

Guys, I am very interested in all I have read in here so far but I am still wondering if any of this information relates to my iPAQ hw6510a. I have not been abel to figure out if my iPAQ is similar to any of the mentioned devices on this site and I would really like to get some more details of ho to use it, connector pinouts, available updates etc.
According to the HTC Model Chart, the HP iPAQ 65xx series is a part of the HTC Beetles series:
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=HTC_PhoneModels (last entry in the Pocket PC models chart before the HTC smartphone names are listed)
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=BeetlesResearch
If you want to modify your iPAQ, try searching for information using that designation.
Hope this helps,
Hello all!
Crossbow is near, so i think we can sum up WM5 on Himalaya.
I've updates WIKI page about WM5 on Himalaya, it's here:
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Himalaya_2005_Kitchen
Purpose of this page is to quickly find out what options are if you want to install WM5 on Himalaya.
Feel free to edit/add or correct this text.
If you feel I missed some important (stable, fast etc) ROMs please write here or update WIKI yourself
There is also Wiki page for WM6,
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Himalaya_2006
but there is nothing for now. I will try to put there information if any will be available
Thanks for the effort

Hi,
I asked a similar question in the VOX forum and did not get any responses, whcih startled me as someone on this forum must know the answer.
I am looking for a utility for a WM5 Smartphone that would be able to change some colors in the system, e.g. the color of menu text.
Utilities (usually called UI Tweaker or TweakUI) do exist for PocketPC-s, but I am unable to find one for a WM5 Smartphone.
Has anyone come across such a tool?
Thanxx, Mixx
Have a look at this thing:

I don't have a smartphone so can't say what it does, but it might help.

Hi,
This is my first post here. Please excuse me if I post in the wrong section, or if this is already asked.
I am borrowing a brand new HTC TyTN II, and I see this have a nice new Today screen with a big digital clock, a link to favourite persons, etc.
I think this might be called HTC Home, because it dissapears if I uncheck this in the Today Items list.
Question is:
- Is this an application that can be downloaded somewhere and installed on othe HTC devices?
- Will this only work on WM6 devices, or also on my old HTC P3600 WM5 device?
- If this is not possible to download, but embedded in the ROM, is there any easy way to "extract" this from the device I borrow? (could this be a CAB file that is in some hidden area on the phone)
Could someone please help me with these questions, or refer me to some links where this have already been discussed

Thanks for your answer.
I have downloaded and tested that several "Helmi" versions works OK on both my semidefekt (no sound/camera due to the fact that I have ripped those out to use on another phone) I-mate Jamin (with QTEK ROM) and my HTC P3600.
Both the 3 tab and 6 tab versions worked. For my P3600 all features seemed to work. Great!
Only some more questions about this:
a) The link you gave me contained a lot of pages, and a lot of sub links to other posts and versions. In fact it seems that there is very many versions of this plugin lying around on your and other similar sites.
It would be very nice if this tool could be added in the CAB archives page with a new clean post that lists what is the newest and most current version, and what version is for what phone, as it is quite difficult to follow all these pages lying around in the forum (which also is the reason why I reply in this post rather than in one of the many other existing ones).
Would this be something you eminent persons would consider?
b) I tried both the Helmi 3/6 tab versions and the Kaiser 5 tab versions. None of the Kaiser versions worked on my Imate JAmin/P3600, but I assume this is because the Kaiser versions obviously is intended for a different type of phone (or maybe it is WM6 they are intended for?)
Is this true?
c) If not, do these versions have any features that the Helmi versions don't have?
d) I tried these versions of the "Helmi" editions:
- HtcHome6_WM5_comp_sdkcert.cab (with the extra SDK_CERT.cab),
- HTCHomeWM56Tab.cab
- HtcHome6_WM5_comp.cab
They all had slightly different file sizes, and contained a bit different number of files/reg keys. So my question is: What is the newest and most stable version? (which version should I use?)
e) Are there other versions than these that are newer/better for the above mentioned phones?
As you see, I got a bit confused about all these pages. I got it working, so that is great, but if someone would bother to clarify these issues, and maybe even make a sticky post or add it to the CAB vaults, that would be even more great!

Hello!
I have install just a while ago a wm6 ( to my o2 xda phone (tornado)
this form thread:
WM6 Platinum Edition 5.2.1711.18165.0.5.0 SP1 by NiTroGen
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=374955
Now i have a problem with multimedia buttons... how can i definite it to windows media smartphone for example?
And i have problem with wifi too... when i open wifi program, that says: isnt driver - where can i download thats drivers?
Look in the other ROM threads for the sp5m fix. Check all the threads before you come back here.
Why do you not do reading to make sure you install the best ROM or look for common problems before go ahead and perform a process that can brick your phone?
Next time you ask a question that you can answer yourself by a quick search I am going to demand you send your handset to ericjm. He needs one to build and test ROMs and you don't seem to need yours because you want to brick it.
