Since I upgraded to the new 1.11 rom I have noticed that the unit will not disconnect from calls instantly. A soft reset usually solves the problem. However this morning, after about a week of usage on the new rom the unit started running very slow. When I tried to power off it would not. In fact everytime I hit the power off button now the unit locks up. I soft reset and can use the phone and programs (they are running very slow) but when I hit the power button it locks up again just sitting on the today screen. No buttons work on the touch screen or the hardware buttons.
Has anyone else experienced this?
I have performed a hard reset and even reinstalled the rom upgrade again and have had no sucess. Since I reinstalled the ROM I have lost the "phone dialer" and KSE Trufax.
Someone PLEASE help.
I have also some problems with my upgrade. The phone does not disconnect after hanging up, and sometimes the phone does not recognize the caller from the address book. I mean common, my old fw was better
Sometimes the camera freezes also.
P.S.
May be you are using a backup solution to restore the data to your ppc after upgrade? I have experienced slow downs in that manner.
QTEK S100 - Power off lockup
Hi all,
I too have a similar problem. Whenever I power-off the device (using power-button on right side) , it hangs! Only a soft-reset seems to work.
MODEL : QTEK S100
ROM : 1.11.00 WWE
Date : 03/14/05
Radio : 1.11.00
Protocol : 1337.42
ExtRom : 1.11.133 WWE
Is this a ROM problem. I have only had to the unit for 3 days and this has been a constant problem from day one.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks... Peter
XDA2 Himalaya:
Rom: 1.71a.96WWE Rom date 01/20/06
Radio: 1.18.00
Protocol: 1337.38
I have successfully updated my xda2 to 1.71a.96wwe and all seems well. What I need to know how to do is the following:
1. Assign the camera to the camera button and recorder to the recorder button? At the moment pressing either does nothing even though they're assigned in the buttons applet in settings
2. Is it possible to remove the green battery bar at the top of the screen?
3. Is it possible to get the original O2 camera program, which had a full screen feature, or is there another camera program available that features full screen.
4. When the xda2 is cradled and sync'd can it connect to the inernet via my desktop pc's connection (which is 10mb cable)?
5. Where can I get hold of the necessary programs to design my own today pages/wm2005 themes?
Thankyou, in advance, for any help you can offer.
How I can get this ROM171a 96WWE.. pls advise d/l link.
Hello,
I have a G4 with the following
IPL 2.10.0001
SPL 2.20.0001
I had upgraded to WM6 (tested all versions available on this forum).
Upgrade always goes fine and mobile works OK except that the phone goes on (screen lights up) automatically from time to time and goes off after time out (depending on setting, 10sec, 30sec etc..)
This eats up the battery very quickly.
I have tested with AKU 3.2 and AKU 3.3 (Aserg) and I have the same strange behaviour.
I have also tested with and without the following:
1. SD card
2. Mail server configured
3. Push mail
4. Different version of RADIO rom.
Of course with several hard and soft reset but no luck.
Anybody having such issues or heard about this.
Thanks for your help or suggestions.
I am forced to go back to the following....
Current versions
GSM 2.47.21
ROM 2.20.7.34 WWE
Strange!!! I'm the only one having this problem.
I just tried to flash with the lastest ASERG ROM and the issue is the same
It doesn't happen if you lock the device. This is the only solution I have found which works. Apart from that, it is fantastic.
i had the same..
what i did is turn off the backlight dimmer
had the same with my wm5 sometimes too

Thanks rob_h a lot for the tips....
It works fine
I have extended your workaround by using vijay555 devicelock (http://www.vijay555.com/?Releases:VJDeviceLock) and assign it to a button.
It is a fair workaround.
Thanks again
Hi all,
I've got a Vodafone (UK) v1240 (HTC Tornado Noble variant) running ericjm WM6 For Tornado - HTC Edition ROM and GSM.02.61.01 / SPL.2.00.0014.
Every day or two, the 'G' symbol disappears from the bar at the top of the Home screen and doesn't return. GPRS is unavailable until I use the connection manager to turn the radio off and back on again.
This is *really* annoying as I use push email on a daily basis and often find ActiveSync in 'waiting for network' mode, even though I'm in an area with a good signal.
I've tried the registry hack of setting GRPS to 'Always on' and renaming the 'SuspendResume' registry value - but that doesn't seem to help this issue.
I've seen a few other grumbles on this forum and around the www about this issue - but no firm solutions. Can anyone shed any light on this - or suggest a fix?
the GPRS issue is fixed with the latest radio ROM update, did you run phil's WM6GSMUpdate? If not, get it from my tutorial in my signature
Thanks for the response karhoe.
I did apply WM6GSMUpdate while following an install guide similar to yours for ericjm's WM6 For Tornado - HTC Edition ROM.
I'll try re-applying it, but I believe it is already in effect as my radio version states: 4.1.13.28_02.61.01
Any other ideas?
Try this
I have the same problem when i use andot's ROM. I have also upgraded the radio to 4.1.13.28_02.61.01, but still not solved.
Finally, after i change my ROM to NiTroGenious' WM6 English 5.2.1616.18120 ROM, and upgraded my SPL to 2.00.0014, the problem has been solved. I am not sure whether is the ROM or SPL solve the problem.
If you want to upgrade your SPL, please find the link under NiTroGenious's signatures.
One thing I have seen even in my own phone (running VJs ROM v3.2) that depending on what's being refreshed on my home screen, the "E" symbol will disappear. In that case, it's not that my GPRS connection has dropped, it's just that the top bar isn't refreshing to display the symbol. If I force a home screen refresh, lo and behold it's back again. Could that be what's happening with you?
I've bought 2nd HTC Tornado (Vodafone), I cannot turn on wifi, when select WLAN setting-Connection Status it's notice that : "Driver is not loaded"
Anyone please help me, thanks!
Some Tornado does not come with WiFi module

thanks how can we check this status???
I had a similar problem on Typhoon with bluetooth once. Same message appeared every time I tried to enable bluetooth. Hard reset and even reflash didn't helped at all. I thought bluetooth module died so I bought Tornado. After some time I tried to flash this phone to WM6 and suddenly bluetooth worked again. But don't ask me why

i've tried more than 3 times up to WM6 but still the same!!!
From what I've seen, tornado's with Wi-Fi have that big hump on the top, like mine, not sure if you can tell from picture on my profile. Perhaps, could you tell us some more about what it does when you try to turn Wi-Fi on? Maybe that'll light up some thoughts.

when I try to turn Wifi on, nothing happen in Communication Manager it's still disable ( green light didn't show!!!)
In Wifi Setting it indicate that "driver is not loaded"
Vodafone v1240 is wi-fi equipped and does not have the "hump" at the top. Ask me how I know. If your Vodafone is not a v1240, then it's not a Tornado.
However, I've never had a problem with getting it to work. I never tried it with WM5, as I had the phone all of twenty minutes before I flashed to WM6.

Fulfilling your request; ¿How do you know? LOL I didn't see your sig!
So P4bus, have you considered upgrading your ROM? Have you tried HARD RESET? That should reload all drivers and settings. Though you will loose any info/programs/data/changes that have been done to the phone since. Or perhaps, upgrade to WM6 or WM6.1 ? I strongly recommend Nitrogen's WM6, of if you want to go up to WM6.1 you can try GnatGoSpat's. He just anounced he's working on further changes and bug fixes, and will be re-cooking and posting new ROM about mid this week.
Regards.

"Press and hold down the 2 external buttons down the screen (start and contacts buttons), and then press for a 1.5 seconds (important) the power button. Release them. If you have done all ok, you must see a screen telling you to press "0" to reset your phone to factory. If it starts normally repeat the process."
this is hard reset Tornado???
