Himalya - unable to restore from SD card

Can anyone help,
I cannot get my xda II to restore from my SD card. It restores the data from what I can see when I sync it to my PC but the screen remains grey. If there is no way of fixing the backup, is there anyway to access the backup data, all I'm really after is my contacts details? The file is called CompactFlashBackUpNew
Thanks
Have you tried removing sd card, then soft reset, then reinsert sd card? Also do you have the sd card chosen by clicking "open" and choosing storage card??

[Q] Zune backup and microsd upgrade

I'm wondering if the zune backup 'tool' would help with the microsd card issues.
Specifically:
a) if I backup everything before adding the sd card, would I be able to restore the backup, since the sd card formatting will return the phone to a 'factory new' state?
b) if the card doesn't work, would I be able to restore it from the backup, even though phone would be messed up?
I tried one of the sandisk 8gb class 2 cards and it didn't work for me, so now I'm researching before trying a different card.
thanks
It will only work if the backup was done on a card of the same size. Basically, you cant do a backup on a card of one size and restore to a card of another size. If its the same size card you will be able to restore fine.

Click to collapse
You can't do a Nandroid backup of your SD card. A Nandroid backup is only for backing up the image on your phone.
Simply plug your phone into the PC, select Disk Drive and backup all your SD card data to your PC. Once complete right click the SD Card Drive, click Format. Copy data back to SD card.
EDIT: Sorry - misread the question. Same procedure really - just copy the Nandroid backup onto your PC and then copy it back afterwards. Usually the Nandroid backup and be found in the clockworkmod folder on the sdcard. The folder containing the nandroid backup is usually time stamped.
Does it mean i also have to reflash the radio?
Formatting (or replacing) the SD card will not require you to reflash any part of the phone. The ROM and the Radio are kept on the internal phone memory and never on the SD card.
Simply do as dr9722 has stated - take a copy of the nandroid backup onto your PC, then format the SD card and copy the backup back from the PC afterward and you'll be fine.

[Q] Android 6 and SD Internal Storage

Hi guys. It's me, the stupid guy who formated his SD on Marshmallow with the "Internal Storage option" and then changed the rom . I didn't know all the encrypted stuff!... Well, the problem now is that i have a SD card formated with internal sotage option but i haven't the exactly rom with i did the formatting, only an old backup (before SD formatting). When i put on the SD card in the old backup, it says that cant use it, must format all the stuff. So...
Is there any way to access all my SD data? i tried with the old backup, doing a wipe data... nothing works.
PD: Sorry for my ****ty english
Up!
Any ideas?
You tried putting your SD card into a PC? it might read it though but if it doesnt you have to do the formating. All will be wiped but you can still afterwards try Recuva (program for restoring data) and when downloaded put your SD into your PC and then start it. that would be your best bet.

No twrp Backup since new SD Card

I have a new SD Card and I think this is the reason for my lost backup files in TWRP. How can I check this or can I check the sd card?
If it's a new SD card how are there backup files on it period, did you transfer the twrp folder to the new SD card?
