EPOS System - General Topics

We would like to use the XDA as an EPOS system within our mobile outlets. This would involve integrating a bar scanner and the ability to print receipts along with some basic button functionality to record sales. Has anyone any experience of using the XDA for this?
Cheers, Pete

Quick Heal Mobile Security

Quick Heal protects from viruses,
identity theft, unwanted calls, and text.
Quick Heal Mobile Security for Android
safeguards your Android device from
viruses, malwares, malicious
applications and personal information
loss. This mitigates a considerable
amount of risk from the vulnerability
that an open platform like Android is
prone to. It is a complete security
solution that offers a host of features
to protect you and your phone from
viruses, identity theft, unwanted calls,
and text messages. It also helps you
locate your stolen or lost phone.
Features:
Virus Protection - Provides automatic
real-time virus and spyware scans with
optional manual scan. This assures
automatic protection from all kinds of
malware threats. It also scans
applications before those get installed
on the mobile. In case you have to
use somebody’s memory card then
the anti-virus engine scans the
memory card first before any data
transfer. The intelligent anti-virus
automatically updates itself for new
virus definitions. The software
provides a high degree of flexibility
allowing you to use your mobile while
the scan runs in the background.
Call Filtering – This feature enables
you to block unwanted calls. It is
accentuated by a silent blocking
action. It also helps you in configuring
a Black List or White list of numbers.
SMS Blocking – With this feature you
can silently block unwanted SMSs.
You can also scan links in messages
and filter infected links.
SMS Spam Protection – You can filter
unwanted SMS, block spam SMS text
messages from unknown senders and
easily configure Black and White lists.
Data Protection - In case the mobile
phone is stolen and carries sensitive
data, you can:
• Lock the phone access remotely
• Wipe the data remotely by sending
predefined SMS
• Configure selective data to wipe-out
like Contacts, SMS or folders
Anti-Theft – This powerful feature
enables:
• Remote Locking – blocks usages of
your phone if it is lost or stolen
• Mobile Tracking - helps you find your
lost or stolen phone
• SIM Change Notification – if the SIM
is changed, the new number will be
sent to owner’s alternate mobile
• Mobile Lock on SIM Card Change – if
your Smartphone's SIM card is
removed after it is stolen, Quick Heal
mobile Security for Android will block
usage of your mobile phone
The nature of the Android platform
makes it one of the most versatile yet
most vulnerable to various malwares
and data theft. Try Quick Heal Mobile
Security for your mobile phone and
experience the security and
performance packed in elegantly
designed mobile application.

Help Please: can't find app to create schedule for employees!

Salutations to Everyone!
Thanks for reading my thread and hopefully considering helping me.
I think it's extremely bizarre that I can't seem to find an app to make a simple schedule to display for employees.
All of the apps that I keep finding in the Play Store are tied to online services. A simple schedule is not that serious!
I could easily use Microsoft Excel, but my life's deeply entrenched with Android.
I would even purchase an app. I'm not sure if that's motive for someone to create a simple app? =)
Any help in this matter is greatly appreciated!
Best Regards,
David

If you're happy with a spreadsheet, why not use some "office" app suite? Or you could make a free cloud doc, like in Google docs.

I'm not happy with using just a spreadsheet or office documents.
I *could* use a spreadsheet, but I prefer something designed
specifically for what I need. It's been my experience using office apps
on Android are not the most reliable. Formats get screwy when crossing
devices and/or office programs.
Besides. I'm trying to get a good, simple solution for a friend of mine.
I'm helping her with her restaurant business.
I appreciate your reply though! =)

I'm still not clear on what it is you're looking for. If not a spreadsheet, then what? Something like Microsoft Access? Kind of like the Contacts app?

I'm looking for an app that's designed for creating and managing schedules for a small business?
Shift scheduling. Possibly with additional features.

[Q] Has anyone used app cross promo networks(chartboost, flurry, tapjoy etc)?

Hi I'm a journalist covering the mobile app market and was wondering if anyone here has experience using cross promotion networks to promote their apps (chartboost, flurry, appifier, tapjoy etc)? I'm writing an article breaking this whole area down. I'm interviewing a bunch of the networks themselves, but I'd really like to get the opinions of devs who are using them.
If you can answer a few Qs on this let me know (you'll get a bit of press out of it and i'll send a link to whatever app you're promoting). T
Feel free to email me - christopher = at = paperthin.co.uk - or pm me or respond below. Thanks!

[Q] Looking for a group bandwidth usage app

Hi,
I'm looking for an application, probably integrated with some sort of web based interface, to track my employees data usage. I don't want to track phones, spy into sms messages or web pages visited, but need to know the amount of data used, per device and a report compiling the whole thing. Why? The phone provider we use doesn't provide such tool (and in Brazil I'm not aware of one that does this for closed groups) and we need to make adjustments to our data plan in a way to avoid extra costs.
Thanks for you help.
Anyone?
