I am not sure if this is a PPC 2003 SE or 6600 problem but I have a dictionary Solvoed that allow you to highlight a word and immediately translated it to French in my case or vice versa. This worked fine on my G1000 in all applications: highlight word, bring up menu and translate appears. Voila a translation. On my new machine I get this to work only in Word and not in Internet Explorer or in Microsoft Reader. In fact, different menus appear in the different programs.
So wondering if anyone else has this dictionary (unlikely) or if anyone knows how the contextual menus come up and are controlled (registry hacks?).
Thanks

I am running WM6 (on Hermes, if that matters). Very often the e-mail coming to me is not in Russian - Windows (1251), but in Russian - KOI8-R encoding. While Internet Explorer handles it just fine (when specified explicitly), there's no option to select it in the Inbox. How do I add it?
...Anyone?
ActiveSync + Pocket Outlook + Unicode characters
I have Unicode characters in the Note sections of my Outlook Contacts on the desktop PC. I am using Tahoma font and also copied the font to the PPC (Windows\fonts). These characters aren’t showing up correctly under the PPC. Is there anyway to display Unicode characters in Pocket Outlook (Note section of Contacts)?
Thanks for any info…

On your desktop open the outlook 2003 or above. set the default folt for notes as tahoma. Just create a new note. sync with PPC and view it. does this one also not display properly?

No, it does not display properly because Tahoma is not just a True Type font. It is a newer type font and if you look at its icon on PC, you would see an O instead of TT. This newer type font has Unicode characters inside of it. The ActiveSync works with True Type fonts but not with Tahoma. Please let me know if there is a solution, thanks.

does anybody knows of any way to have text notes on a smartphone? just like in the poket pcs?
thanks
Text notes...
Hi... you can use Microsofts' OneNote Mobile (.cab available somewhere in this forum, but you'll have to do a search for that) or Smartphone Notes available from www.smartphone.net for just a few dollars. OneNote is perfect if you use OneNote on your desktop as I do, but if you haven't got that, or would rather sync with the notes in Outlook, use Smartphone Notes.
There may well be others, but these are two I've used myself and both are good for what you need.
if you are using office onenote on your pc u also can install onenote mobile from the pc app:
select the 7th tab (file, edit... "instruments"(i don't know the exact english name in italian is Strumenti ^^) then select OPTIONS
in the new windows select "onenote mobile" category then click "install" with your device connected with activesync
First i would like to give my thanks to all for this great site from which i found a lot of info and also found new things that iam using, all my best.
Let's come to my problem, synchronizing outlook from pc to raphael (using greek language) gives everything looks ok, memo's, notes, contact details, tasks, calendar with notes, all of them look perfect in greek, all except the notes into contacts (the notes you can write at the right side of each contact), these are unreadable, i can read only the english words and numbers, anything else is a mess and that's happening olny on these notes, everything else is fine, notes, tasks, addresses, notes in calendar... all in greek and are fine.
Changing the font used for these notes in outlook didn't help, already test english or greek outlook on pc didn't solve the problem..
Any help will be very much appreciated.
regards
(for days now iam searching on threats and nothing found to help on that)
