Would you advise me to upgrade plz read - JAM, MDA Compact, S100 Software Upgrading

Hi,
I'm currently using the MDA Compact on T-Mobile
R 1.00.10
G 1337.36
D 1.01.00WWE
What is the latest ROM version?
Is it worth upgrading to a different ROM?
What are the benefits?
I know that some would say that if you're happy with what you've got why upgrade but i would like to know if there are new features or performance improvements etc
many thanks in advance

you are using the latest rom for the UK MDA Compact, which is fairly stable, however the later roms being used by others have slightly improved audio performance, stability and an imporved bluetooth stack.
if you are happy with the existing rom, I would stick with it for now.

I would defenately try to upgrade to a 1.11 WWE or UK version, it will bring you more stability, more features, better and fast bluetooth, better soundquality, less need for soft-reset, better bluetooth and much more... I'm running on 1.11 WWE for a month now, and it's a breeze compared to the older versions...

MDA compact's rock solid ExtROM or????

Hi all,
I have a MDA compact that was flashed from German to English without a problem. I have noticed that on the xda's ftp site the ExtROM 1.01.124 WWE version for T-mobile has not been updated to a newer version. The O2 mini has an 1.03.166 ver, I-Mate UK has an 1.03.163 ver and the Qtek S100 has an 1.06.115 ver offered. :?: My question, is it that T-mobiles version so "rock solid" (stabile) that no updated are needed at this time while the other HTC magicians have mulitple udates??? I just don't understand :?
correct
The T-mobile rom is one of the most stable and well engineered rom for htc. practically no bugs, no soft resets needec. I will never update this puppy.

Thanks for the reply, but, as a rule of thumb "never say never". I must say that I'm very satified whte the T-mobile rom but as far as I'm informed when I go to the T-mobile.de web and perhaps the Dutch web page there seems to be no support what so ever. This is what makes me very    Hell, I-mate has their support site and so does O2, but not T-mobile.
Yes but
To be sure, I had an Imate for three weeks and returned it to Amazon. (Sound isssues + camera) Yes, they offered support, but this was because their product is crap, so they constantly have to update it, currently, they are still waiting for a rom update to fix the sound. I mean, a phone that needs a Sound update for the Phone sound? Bunch of monkies those club imaters.
I am much happier with T-Mobile UK, no sound problems, no camera issues, no planned rom updates. AND NO SUPPORT.
Do you know why?
Because their engineers built it right the first time! So I hope you enjoy all the wonderful support from clubimate, I didn't...
Thanks for the reply mate.
I should have added
I am sepaking about the UK rom, not the German or the dutch, don't know about those...
I flashed my compact from German to (WWE Dutch ver. but unlocked)
Never the less, still satisfied.

It's pretty much user preference, your best bet would be to try them all and see which best fits your needs.
Agreed lots of cooked roms out there and more to come.
shaps will be releasing his roms soon as well

Most Stable WM6 ROM?

I've tried different ROMS for my imate JASJAR so far. What's your opinion which one is the most stable one for Universal?
I found latest BL rom the most stable so far. I was about to end with my universal in ebay but after seeing this I gave it a new opportunity.
Mo3ulla's ROMs if speed and no extra apps are your priority
Jason's ROMs if you can sacrifice speed for some must-have apps
Beasty and Leo's ROMs if you want better UI and applications
Yet to test N.N.Cuong and Lt Cdr Ivan's ROMs!!
your choice, no ROM has complete functionality or is perfectly stable, although all of these are pretty darn close!

Some Questions

Hi,
I'm almost about to buy the Vox. It comes with WM 6.0, is it wise to flash it to WM6.1?
Wich rom would be the best? Depens on what apps i need?
And is it possible to play gameboy emulators with it?
thanks very much

Personally I'm running the Lefab47 Fireburned WM6.1 ROM
12 months in the VOX is still hands down the best phone Ive ever owned.
6.1 is a definate yes - its a big improvement
I would also suggest getting one of the XIP 20202 core roms as this addresses on of my only 2 gripes with the VOX, namely the speed - it was slightly underpowered, however with the new core speed is no longer an issue its greatly improved so my only remaining grip is that the camera could be better - but hey its almost perfect.
DO BUY ONE - they are seriously good
I found pocketGBA, hope this works.

Noob on HTC Diamond - Updating ROM, Taiwanese Model Phone Unlocked Currently in WWE

First post so here it goes!
I've recently bought a second hand HTC Diamond (P3700) with windows mobile 6.1 from HTC in Taiwan. They were awesome with the price and giving me loads of extras for this great phone. The phone was originally in Chinese mandarin but the nice people at HTC converted it to English.
So after a few weeks of playing with the phone and doing some online searching I've found XDA-Developers and people modding, tweaking, upgrading their phones. I thought to myself that this site is like the Holy Grail! So now I'm wanting to to upgrade my ROM but I don't want to do it at the cost of my phone not working based on my location.
So I would like to know my options. I've already seen some excellent looking ROM's but Im not sure if they will make or break my HTC Touch Diamond so any guidance would be very much appreciated.
My current Phone Stats are as follows:
ROM Version: 2.03.707.2
ROM Date: 12/26/08
Radio Version: 1.09.25.23
Protocol Vesion: 52.51.25.26U
Please note the phone is Unlocked using a TaiwanMobile (TWM) Sim card. If any more information is required please let me know I would love to start flashing right away! Thanks again in advance.
Welcome to forum
As long as you follow instructions you´ll be fine upgrading your ROM
read here:
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=HTC_Diamond
Then go to Diamond section, select your desired ROM and enjoy!
Good luck,
Thanks for the reply! I'm looking forward to flashing away. I also wanted to know if there is a performance difference when flashing from a 6.1 to a 6.5? I know a lot of people doing it but is there a trade off in doing so.
As 6.5 UI is more " highly graphic" it will be a little bit slower, but nothing too much to worry
I am using it on a 2005 Universal with 64mb of RAM
So it´s ok!
Thanks for your 2 cents, I hope flashing a new ROM will save me time modding my diamond

If you take a look in the diamond rom forum you will find several guides on upgrading a rom and radio. This is probably the best place to start.
Im using a 6.5 rom on my diamond (BSB 6.5 M) at the moment and it is very good. as fast as some 6.1 roms i have used. The 6.5 builds do have some bugs and issues as they are all still beta test versions but im find my current one ok.
I was also curious to what does the radio do. Like i get updating the ROM but why is there a need to update the radio? Im assuming it has something to do with the phone and how it handles reception. My phone at the moment is running great on stock 6.1 but if i upgrade to 6.5 would i need to change my radio?
