FIXED!: Applications Wont Install

Hi,
im trying to help my girlfren over the phone she has a prophet (i have the same one) when she tries to install applications it says that the program can not be installed, to storage card and to device. at the moment her prophet will not sync with activesync either so she is using the explore function to drop the cab files on her prophet.
she has tried to install Jeyo SMS Backup and also the HTC fix for usb connectivity, my initial diagnosis is that she may be short of program memory however would like a few more ideas to try before i talk to her on the phone tonight - please

EDIT: recently her alarm has started going off and the only way to shut it up is to disable and reenable the speaker (reset doesnt work) she cannot sync with active sync either and she ideally needs to back up her calender before hard reset. does this give you any ideas to the problem/?

Help my camera isn't starting anymore!

I'd tryied to hold camera button and from programs menu but both wont work. What can I do? Please can someone help me out?

First off try a soft reset, poke the stylus in the reset hole for a second or two, you won't loose any information or applications trying this, switch the unit back on and try again from the hardware button and/ or the Start/ Programs/ Camera icon
If the above didn't fix it try a hard reset, this will wipe the device back to the same configuration it was when you got it - you WILL LOOSE data doing this - Mike

I did hard reset and it still wont start. AND NOW the camera icon isn't even in the program folder anymore?! help!

This is NOT possible if you hardreset. Hardreset again and try. If it still doesnt work, your unit is most probably defective and you'll have to exchange/send in for repair it.
Just to be sure: You use the erase memory tool in the control panel and had to enter "1234" and then click yes, right?

I have itself problem, the reset (soft) don't resolve. Sometimes the camera starting, but frequently NO.

I'm Trying yet to solve
Looking at the camera launching process, I've found a link like:
_camera.lnk
that contains:
21#"\Windows\Camera.exe" ?CameraRc_Grey.dll,-1106
any idea if that is normal content, looks curious for a link especially the interrogation point mark?
What about the -1106 figure ?
Is it possible that this link being corrupted ?
If yes how to modifiy it, seems a ROM file

same problem here,
sometimes cam will work but it to often will not. :/
sure ift the cam even dont in factory default config (hard reset) it is broken.
I got longest working duration in factory default, approx one to two weeks.
using third party binaries the failure appears randomly.
Im pretty sure this is a software issue, else a soft rest wont fix it, eh ?!
workaround:
one but very poor solution is, once the cam starts, _never_ quit it, just minimize.

I have got no news about cam.
I called htc support, they told me to install a fix for camera that I found in htc e-club.
But that fix is not for our problems, is for camera quality.
I installed it but the problem still remain.
Sometimes it goes, sometimes no...

A solution is to take the pda off without the battery for some minutes...
After that the cam works...
But for also some time... then It goes down again...

I've been having the same problems with the camera.
"Camera" doesn't appear in Programs but "Camera album" does.
When i use file explorer to go to the .exe file and i tap it, nothing happens.
EDIT: i've just used file explorer to go to the windows directory en what do I see: now i have two camera executables (but not one of them reacts)
In file explorer i see this:
Camera 11/12/07 733K
camera.exe.0409.mui 11/12/07 28,9K
camera 11/12/07 35,2K (with Opera icon, i think it's the help file)

i´ve got this Problem nearly three weeks. I´ve installed a new rom and Nadavi camera. Nothing turn the Camera Problem. Sometimes it works sometimes not. I´ve got the idea that the Software that is installed on the device cause the Problem. When i want to send a mms from the camera the camera strikes after that. When i used Mobile Navigator 5.0 the Camera strike again.
I don´t have an exactly answer for the Problem but i´m pissed of!!!! HTC can´t help already

cingular 8125 help

i have a cingular 8125 running on TNT.19199 Series V.2 wm6.1 proffesional edition. i can not connect to my computer through activesync. ive tried to find an answer to my problem in different threads and forums but i cant. now i want to change my rom but i cannot connect through activesync. does anyone have any suggestions. im a newbie at this. Also how do you hard reset. which buttons do you let go of first and do you hard reset when the phone is on or off. i need help asap please. Thank you in advance

now, this seems like a kinda arrogant answer...but have ya tried taking the battery out, then puttin it back in and trying again? And have yah also tried to initiate a sync from the phone? By that I mean by going to programs and hitting the Activesync icon?

You can use the miniSD card to flash the rom if your 8125 can't connect to your computer.

I had this problem twice awhile back. I had to downgrade to activesync 4.2(still on microsofts website). After I got it to sync I reinstalled activesync 4.5 and everything worked. I wish I new what causes it but this should help. It's not TNT's ROM, it's a great ROM, it's the ROM I always flash back to after I am disappointed with the try the newest release.

USB connection not working. :confused:

Hi, a few days ago i bought a TREO 750, with WM5 running, everything seems to work fine but when i tried to connect it to the PC nothing happens besides start charging , does not appear the plug n play assistant on the pc or anything else.
I tried to upgrade from the memory card but nothing happens and when i get into the flashing mode does not appear the "USB" connection mode, on the screen.
What can i do?? , any advice could help me.

Same here ... it used to be that it would work now and again if I unplugged/replugged enough times but since I updated from 5.2 to 6.0 it doesn't work whatsoever. I really want to upgrade to 6.1 or 6.5. =/

[Q] Showing Bright Scree on opening QWERTY keyboard

Hi Friends,
I have using HTC S710 for almost 3 years now. It has been a very good phone and i just love it.
I have recently started facing a problem where when i open my QWERTY keyboard screen goes blank and shows a bright light.
all other things functions well. like if m playing songs it will continue or if i wish to dial some1 i can.
Can some1 suggest me how to fix this.

You can restore the factory settings or reflash the rom. If the problem persists, the cable or screen of the phone may be broken.

I have already done the reset available in phone.
i have also tried updating and putting new ROM but everytime i do that i get errors like " Image currupted" or " Invalid vendor ID" I have even tried unlocking the phone using USPL n stuffs but no use. (Probably m not doing it rite )
The problem with phone is when openin the QWERTY keypad the display goes blank or hazzy n returns after some 30 seconds(Display time our time)

and now the green flashy led is also not working
whenever i connect my phone to PC it shows RED light there
dont know wats happening

Most probably the flex cable that connects the upper and lower body has a problem. Probably the connector at the lower part has come loose slightly and opening the device pulls the flat cable edge to bend the connector so that you see the effect you describe.
You will not be able to fix it without opening the device - and this is not simple with the VOX. Do not try to fix that without opening the device as you may completely kill the flat cable this way.

You will not solve a HW problem with new SW. Get a good dis-assembly guide for the VOX - this will help you.

As off now i have just completed updating a new ROM (Windows Mobile 6.5 Official by frauhottelmann) It is nice and good but as u suggested hasnt resolved my problem
Also Audio manager isnt working for me

Be careful nitin !!! you'd better bring it to a service center , than you lose warranty just because seal is broken when you try to open it ..

There is no warranty after 3 years, I think - at least not in Germany
