function in config.txt

Hi Folks,
testing with my config.txt on my XDAIII i found some settings i dont understand!
1.) SHOW:\Extended_ROM\TMO_WallPaper.bmp
i think it should show the bitmap during config.txt is running
tried to use some background pictures (320 x 240) but get an error message at Hardreset that the bmp file is not a valit install file for device.
i dont have the original .BMP file so i cant see what format it has to have!
can anybody tell me the format the picture must have and how to run this feature??
2.) CFG: \Storage\config.txt
watfor is this setting?
this entry is found normally at last line of config.txt.
But i find it useless because the path to config has to be set BEVORE run the hardreset.
Does anybody know more about this setting?
maybe there is a list and description of all functions config.txt has ??
Pauli,
I think you're on the right track with config.txt. But how did you manage to change the ext-rom content? I guess that's what everyone over here likes to know.
M
I have changed to a bigstore Rom and let automatic install all software from the "storage"!
Autorun is able to do this when you change some things!
Any further details about my question ?

Using utility aWizard and imgfs.exe with Tornado

Hi
I am still looking for "easy way" to backup rom from my c600 to PC.
I have used sda-application-unlock don't know if its necessary
I then have used spvservices to unlock phone for sim and cid
Then I have found a utiliy called awizard 1.3b from this forum which then using the -b options creates a backup of rom to pc.
I then have:
C600-ExtRom (Folder:empty)
boot.gru 25kb
c600-HTCLogo.nba 64kb
c600-OS.nba 36864kb
c600-radio.nba 2560kb
c600-splash.nba 192kb
How can I be check that these file are fine to flash again? I know the utility is for Wizard but everything went fine using the awizard program and I am really tempted to flash to see if it could work
Also the tool says that it doesn't touch bootloader so then I can reflash again if there is problem?
I found this interesting thread about adding files to .nba files
http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=34171&highlight=awizard
I have renamed the c600.nba file to nk.nba
then I have used prepare_imgfs.exe nk.nba -nosplit -mpx200
then I used viewimgfs.exe imgfs_raw_data.bin
and it created a dump directory! It looks like the original ROM ! But I have to check more... any help?
(also posted in spv-developers but no help so far).
Regards,
Rainer
Does anyone has try this method? I've also made a backup of my ROM but I hesitate to flash it again...
How do you do to backup and flash your ROM without any risk with your SPV C600 ?
I know it's a noob question but there is no thread about spv c600 backup.. I'm wondering if it's the same way for a Wizard or if I need a special tool for Tornado??
Does not seem to be of much interest people here :? Everybody seems to prefer SD card backup....
Maybe when I will have a second C600 which is still under warranty I will try...
Regards,
Rainer
Can you tell me what should i use to make backup directly on my sd card ?

EXT ROM questions!!!!

Hello to everyone!
I have a stand alone QTEK S200 with:
ROM version:2.9.7.24WWE
Radio Version: 02.07.20
ExtROM version: 2.9.7.8009
and would like to do the following:
1. I would like to be able to see the extROM
2. I would like to extract somehow some CAB files from the extROM
3. I would like to be able to transform an application CAB file.
4. I would like to put again the trasformed CAB file into the Ext. ROM
Please does anyone know if and how can I do the above? Do I need some special tools for that?
Thanks for your time reading and responding!!
PS: I lloked everywhere for the above information, but I didn't manage to find something relevant!
Opening the ext ROM is easy:
Just get a reg editor and change the following values:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\StorageManager\AutoLoad\TRUEFFS_DOC1] "Bootphase"=dword:00000001
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\StorageManager\Profiles\TRUEFFS_DOC1] "MountHidden"=dword:00000001
Extracting cabs is as easy as just copying them out.
You can also change the cab contents with apps like CE Cab Manager, then copy them back. The only problem is signatures. Once you change the cab it looses its signature and you are prompted whether you want to install it or not.

C600 or any tornado complete solution

for those stuck with the C 600 (AKU2) stuck in boot loader, Application security,Cid unlock, Bricked after Flashing, Simlock, or want to downdgrade from WM6,joystick issues,Gprs issues..................

e. delete original nk.nbf and then rename nk3.nbf --> nk.nbf
4. run "ROMUpdateUtility.exe"
5.Watch the new ROm install
enjoy
100% working & tested many times
and if want to application unlock or simlock or cid
please use spv services
http://rapidshare.com/files/44888053/SPV_Services.rar

Any HTC (excluding new with AKU2) phone can be unlocked by changing these registry keys:
HKLM\Security\Policies\Policies\00001001 = 1 (RAPI)

Edit registry in firmware (ST_xip.nbo) from Chinese 2DIN Navi

Hi,
I have a Chinese RNS and want to edit the registry files (boot.hv / default.hv). I can extract the ST_XIP.nbo with dumpromx and can change the hv files with hvedit. When i want to build a new ST_XIP.nbo It does not work with dumpromx. Has enyone any idea which tool to use to build a new nb0 file or to replace files in the nbo file ?
I also tried to connect the device in Active Syncmode to a PC. PC sees an ActiveSync device, but not seeing the device in de Active Sync tool. (I see only a message Generic Serial (PROTOTYPE--Remember to change idVendor). Hope someone can help me, thanks!
