To cut a long story short, i dropped my xda2 in the toilet at work!
so went home and claimed it on my house insurance and i now own a lovely spvm2000 but im left with this xda2 thats been down the pan, the thing switches on and it all appears to work fine except its black listed, obviously coz i claimed on insurance so i will open it up and sling the pcb in the bin, unless anyone wants some componets from that, but i shall not be selling the phone complete or the pcb seperate. so for sale i have everything else here is a list of what i can think of
fully working screen with no scratches
houseing(scratched but back cover is fine)
4 styli (3 in original o2 retail pckaging)
all the box with instruction and sw cd
leather case
aluminium case (scratched)
Genuine Battery
Cradle
thats all i can think of atm, if u want any of it just make me and offer, dont want much for the stuff as its just sitting there redundant now and not being used!
if u can think of anything else that came with the phone that ive not listed let me know and ill let u know if i got it!
mike
Before you throw the board away it will work in other countires, maybe somebody has a knackered motherboard in usa and could use a replacement.
well its still a blacklisted phone, i know it will work in america or other countries but its still illegal, i know it was my pohone that i flushed down the toilet but still illegal to sell it coz it blacklisted so ill just sling it and sell the other parts of the phone
slung it yet?
Hello, I'm interested in your tft display. mine got cracked, and I'm not about to pay the outrageous replacement pricing that the German T-mobile wants...
you'd save the day (month, etc.) if it's still around. By the way, I'd also be interested in the accessories like cradle, pouch belt clip, sync cable, etc. they seem to be designed to last 6 months, and if your belt clip croaks over here (Germany) the telekom suggest that you buy a new leather pouch, "which comes with a new belt clip" (***holes)
all the best

Hello NeCrOpHiLiCaT
I see your post is some time ago but maybe I have some luck.
I need complete housing for xdaII,but maybe for precautions I'll buy some other parts or maybe all your xda2.just tell if is still available.
Still got the cradle?
Hi,
I am also interested in the cradle, do you still have it? Thank you.
Nick Lee
Hi I'm interested in you mainboard with speaker . Do you still have them?
The Phone is 3 months old and my rubber ring just fell off, not the whole wheel though...
Any suggestins how I can fix it back on again, or should I return the handset ?
Thanks
nid
This happened to me and I returned it and they happily put another one on (but took 28 days to do so)!!!
It happened to a friend of mine too, who also sent it back. Then it happened again, so she just super glued it back on.
If it were me, and it was still in warranty, I'd send it back.
When mine came off I just placed it back on and applied presure. After a few days of not using the wheel it should stick. Mine hasn't come off since
Thanks guys
I washed the ring and the wheel witha little soapy water and a wet cloth to get the fluff off and pushed it back on again. so far so good.
The fone is in waranty, so if it comes off again, I'll consider returning it.
Again, Thanks
nid
my xda orbit 2 rubber ring fell off too
hi, it happened to me as well, my wheel rubber ring fell of i stick it back on but after few weeks i noticed it wasn't on it, it must have fell off but i can't do anything about it cos i bought my xda orbit 2 from ebay. will have to manage without it, don't thing u can buy just a rubber ring on its on, or can u?
I've had this problem and am on my 4th handset... O2 will replace the entire handset if you tell them to... never ask what they can do for u... just TELL them and they get it done... but it's better if you're with O2 online rather that the shops as they get a guy to deliver the new one and pick up the old one at the same time... so ur not without a phone!
yup, I'm getting my THIRD handset from O2 today becase of the ring falling off. I did try superglueing one of them back on but the glue reacted with the rubber and it turned in to a big mess! It's a good phone but this is a serious problem, it must be costing HTC a fortune to keep replaceing the handsets.
Why don't you just go to a local "home center" or a similar store, buy some glue that intended to bind rubber with metal, use it, and forget the issue ?
if I was 6 months in to my contract I'd of been more pro active about doing that but the wheel to fall off within a month, it was going back! if it continues to happen I may give that a go though. (assumeing the ring doesn't get lost)
Hi there,
Sorry to drag this up again !
I also have a XDA Orbit 2 as a second handset, bought off Ebay so no warranty with O2 online etc etc.
I need the rubber ring - quite why HTC decided to just stick it on with double sided tape stuff is beyond me!
Is there anywhere I can get a replacement rubber ring from? failing that, anyone know of a decent DIY job ? I tried getting a 'washer' from a local DIY type shop, it fits perfectly, but is about 2mm too deep - I couldn't 'shave' 2mm off either as internally it's metal.
Help anyone?!
Cheers! Dennis! West London UK!
Hi all,
Just bumping this..
Anywhere that I can get the rubber ring? or anyone know of a cheapo DIY version?
Cheers!
Dennis! West London UK!
Mine fell off and I just do without it. the 2 small holes are handy for twiddling the wheel while using the stylus
Some people said that this rubber rings can be found in ebay... but wht don't you give your phone for repair in o2 shop? if it's within 2 years from purchase won't cost you a cent/penny
Hi there,
I didn't buy the phone via O2 or their shops - it was purchased from an independant seller off Ebay.
Will O2 still replace the rubber ring in this case?
Still haven't seen a listing on Ebay for a replacement ring either...
I'm looking to sell the phone so just want it replaced so it's a 'complete' handset.
Cheers, Dennis, West London UK!

Ive ordered from here before, and its a great place!
same here. Parts for Cheap!
Is the matte screen protector on there any decent?
I dunno. I've just ordered parts to fix phones, ie screens, keypads, etc and a few battery chargers. Going to love keeping a spare battery on deck again, stupid iPhone.
My Nexus one has a broken LCD but all they have on their site is the digitizer.. Hopefully I can find a replacement LCD soon..
cnn is great, but they ship slooooooow! Keep it in mind if you are on a tight schedule!
Those are not bad prices at that site!
bumpage for the morning folks
Can anyone tell me where to find lcd for nexus?
Nexus one replacement part needed
Does anyone know where I can get a replacement part for the outer shell of the nexus one? The part i need is the aluminum frame that goes around the screen, earpiece, trackball and loops around the lower back... (Picture attached)
I dropped it and the scratches arent bad ont he plastic parts, but the aluminum part near the top (where the earpiece is) is chipped like crazy. Anyone know where I can get this part?
Or if I buy a mock up phone, will it disassemble into the same parts as the external casing for the real thing? Please help! Thanks!
anyone know where i can buy just an external speaker, mine is shot
possible replacement parts source
Searching around for parts for a friends Nexus one myself and found this for the housing.
http://mobile.brando.com/google-nexus-one-replacement-housing_p05399c0670d088.html
Also found this one who supposedly lists parts for the various sub-assemblies http://www.lunacommerce.com/154-nexus-one-spareparts
Have a email sent in to the last one for what they are calling the P/N LNC-GPGNOMB Google Nexus One Mid Chasis. Kind of sucks cause that is really 2 boards and Im only needing the small board that has the sim connector and sd card connector that sits on top of the main motherboard.
Have one broken pin on the sim card that is preventing the phone from being usable at this point and not able to find just the replacement sim connector or the board its on, instead the whole main board would require replacement. doubtful its gonna be cheap either. Anyone have a damaged unit with these cards they want to get rid of?
anyone else having problems using the lunacommerce site? i sent for an enquiry for a part and it said the price was sent to email but is not there?
good to know all these parts are available
Can you fix that SIM connector pin with solder?
Does someone know if the dummy phone have the same material as the real one?
I have also scratches in the aluminium around the phone, wondering if I can take apart the dummy and replace this onto my real one.
http://cnn.cn/shop/google-nexus-dummy-phone-p-8442.html
Ive ordered from CNN as well, parts where nice and fit great... I too am interested in replacement body parts for the N1.
I just looked for some parts around Brando site...
If you enter "Nexus One" as a search string you get all parts they have:
http://mobile.brando.com/search.php?keyword=nexus+one&Submit=Product+Search
as for me, a bit cheaper that "CNN" proposes.

Let me know if you have any luck with this I too have a number of scratches on my device.
This place also has the housing:

Wtf? For 80$ I can live with my scratches...
I had the chance to try out 2 different "Folio" type cases this week, and decided to do a review comparing them. Here are the competitors:
Samsung Galaxy Note 8 BookCover - $49.99
MiniSuit Classic Standing Case with HandStrap - $14.95
Both cases are generally good, but with weaknesses that would have been easily fixed with more forethought. To start off I will show a few pics comparing the general size and thickness of the two cases.
~
Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 BookCover
Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 BookCover
Samsung BookCover is the thinner of the two but also offers less protection. It was only available in white when I purchased is, but there should be other colors available shortly. The BookCover is easily removable, and cutouts allow for access to all ports, buttons, sensors, etc except for the MicroSD slot. There is what I assume to be a magnetic sensor towards the left side bezel of the device, because there is a “Sleep / Wake” feature with the BookCover which seems to work well to lock and unlock the device. Unfortunately there are no magnets that hold the cover closed against the front of the screen, or when flipped to the back to the device. Cover flap is a soft material that will do well protecting the screen, but will also most likely get dirty over time as I have seen with other covers of this type.
The smaller of the two angled views (around 30 degrees) works very well, and stays in place while navigating and typing on the device.
The more upright angled view is a pain to deal with. If you don’t have a perfectly flat surface, forget about using this one. Even when on a flat surface, the back kept wanting to kick out, as it seems the tablet isn’t heavy enough to hold it in place. They really should have developed a method for this view what would attach the folding flap to the body of the case, using a slot or magnets, because the current method does not work well at all.
Pros:
Light and Thin
Sleep / Wake function built in
Access to all ports and buttons
Easy to hold, comfortable feel
Cons:
Little protection from drops / spills
Angled views are difficult to maintain in active environment
No magnets or strap to keep flap closed over front of screen
No S Pen holder
MiniSuit Classic Stand Case with Handstrap for Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0
MiniSuit Classic Stand Case with Handstrap for Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0
I actually purchased the MiniSuite before the Note 8 was even available in the US, and it was at my door the day before the Note 8’s release (thank you Amazon Prime). I purchased the Navy Blue, but there are many other colors currently available. Overall it has been a good case, and has done an excellent job of protecting the device in a household that has 3 children under the age of 5. There are magnets to keep the flap closed on the front of the case, but there is no Sleep / Wake functionality with this case. I also like that they included an elastic band to hold the S-Pen. I personally like using the larger Samsung S-Pen that has the eraser function on the back, and it fits perfectly in the elastic loop. There is another elastic loop on the cover flap that allows you to insert your and when flipped around to the back, and hold the device more secure one-handed. I personally haven’t used this much, but I can definitely imagine some scenarios where this could come in handy. It is thicker than the Samsung option, but the added bulk doesn't make the device any more difficult to hold. The fake leather isn’t slippery and is somewhat soft to the touch.
The smaller of the two angled views isn’t as stable as the Samsung cover, but the more upright view is much better and stable. This is largely due to the fact that the cover slides into a slot that keeps it from moving. I have not had any issues with the device falling over while in this position, even when sitting on my bed with kids jumping around me.
Pros:
Magnets to keep flap closed over front of screen
Built in S-Pen holder
Access to all ports and buttons
Easy to hold, comfortable feel
Will hold up to drops / spills fairly well
Angled views are difficult to maintain in active environment
Cons:
Does add considerable bulk to the device
No Sleep / Wake function built in
Of the two cases, the MiniSuit will be staying on my device, and the Samsung BookCover is going back to Best Buy. I could have overlooked not having magnets to keep it closes, and no S-Pen holder, but not being able to watch movies while propped up unless sitting absolutely still killed any chance of me wanting to keep this accessory. The MiniSuit has been great up to this point, and I have found an application that mimics the “Sleep / Wake” function when the cover is used, so my main gripe has been satisfied. Plus the fact that this case is $35 less than the Samsung option, makes the decision a lot easier.
Feel free to ask any questions that I may not have covered above. Thanks.

CaseSensor for Tablets
So far its working very well with the Note 8, as long as its calibrated correctly.

So being that not having a magnet to deliver the Sleep / Wake function is my biggest gripe against the MiniSuit, I am looking at a way to fix it.
After a bit of experimentation, I found the location that activates sleep / wake. I had originally assumed it was along the bezel, but turns out its behind the screen edge. The location is shown in the attached screen shot. Going to adhere a tiny magnet to the cover and see how it responds. Its below the level of the bezel covet, so shouldn't scratch the sceen at all (although I do use a screen protector just in case).

The magnet install works great, and the Sleep / Wake function is dead on. Took about 5min to install the magnet, and the backing so the magnetic field didn't effect the device when the cover is folded around to the back. Also has no effect on the S-Pen, which is good to see.
Now the main negative of this case is no longer an issue.

Thanks so much for this. I'll be getting my Miniskirt tomorrow. Where did you get that magnet?

At a local fabric / craft store for ¢79.
Be careful ordering from this supplier (linked in above post)! Shipping takes forever even with their "airmail". I placed an order on the 18th, and just got shipping notification yesterday (11 days later), with a shipping number, but no way to track it (Hong Kong air mail tracking doesn't seem to recognize it). So I still have no clue to when it will arrive, or even if this is a legitimate business. I am willing to give them 10 more days before I raise the issue with my credit card company since shipping from China does have a tendency to take a couple of weeks or even more, so it's probably nothing to be concerned about, just slow mail.

I have the original Samsung BookCover (green). Keeping it standing is difficult but you can have this http://www.amazon.com/Targus-Design...=1367327608&sr=8-1&keywords=targus+ipad+stand
Or if you have Note 2 (or S3 or S4) with extra battery charger, you can use the stand to hold it.
Thanks for the comparison. I want the Samsung model, but it seemed overpriced and I went with the MiniSuit. Its been pretty good, with three minor complaints.
Like you, I was disappointed it didn't do automatic turn-on/lock functions when the cover was opened or closed. Your magnet mod looks pretty simple, so I'm gonna give that a shot.
When folding the front cover to use it as a stand, the device is pretty unstable in either position. When vertical, a stiff breeze would knock this thing over face first.
The other thing that really chaps my hide is the orientation. When its laying prone but propped up, the home button is on the left side of the case. Its really a "me issue", but the tablet I've been using for the last few years was the opposite, and I find myself constantly reaching for the home button and only hitting the Samsung logo on top. A little annoying, but really no problem.
Not the last case I'll ever buy for this thing, but for $15 its great. I'd definitely recommend it, especially if you're waiting on an Otterbox or Trident solution. This'll keep your Note intact till the real protection comes out.

Worth the wait!
I just had a chance to get online again after a couple of months. I have been extremely busy.
Anyhow, I logged on to xda as I am looking for reviews about minisuit's cases. I have been an online shopper since 2009 and I am totally used to shipping delays lol. For me its no big deal. What really made me purchase items from minisuit was the fact that this company offer great discounts on almost all of their items and even if you are a new customer you can still avail big discounts when you purchase more items online.
Just last week I purchased 5 pieces of different gadget cases from minisuit. Apart from offering low prices to customers this company also sell durable and lasting cases.
Thanks and Best wishes everyone!
I also have this case I got from Amazon It's the MiniSuit 8.0 case right? It's really lovely

Can you use a magnetic tape instead of a magnet ?
I guess these too are easily available in a hobby shop and are a bit softer compared to a magnet..

I have wondered about that too.
I also have high strength rare-earth magnets, (real tiny ones), I guess I can stick these to the case with some gaffers tape, but do we need a faint magnet or a strong magnet.
My note is in shipping, should get it next week... I gave up on waiting for the 32GB version.

I've been a follower here for many years now and I want to give thanks for those who have helped me and now I hope to return the favor to all of you. I purchased this Pro Clip mount for my 2013 Honda Accord when I had my note 3. Now that I have the note 4 I was able to use the same mount.
This was used with the Spigen Armor Case...( I LOVE IT)
The mount is a Generic (Adjustable) by adjusting the (2) screws you can move the sides in or move them out and then tighten them according to the Width of your phone.
Here are the part numbers for the mount and Clip which had to be purchased separately from Pro Clip. All together this ran me $86.00 for both parts
854820 Pro Clip Center Mount (This will Vary by Vehicle This was the one for my 2013 Honda Accord)

Pro's:

2. Keeps Your Phone Secure (In case of hard braking your phone won't fly across the car or dash.

thanks for posting but that really doesn't look factory and in my car would never fly.. it has to be stock looking, no wires, no side clips..
Great review @kg6bki!
I've used Pro Clip for years and love them, best I've seen so far!
Nice write up but this has got to be the most expensive mount ever made.

Good to know?
I thought about about Proclip, but the Kenu Airframe + has been working well for me. It's very small, unobtrusive, and holds my Note 4 with Spigen Slim Armor case. It's expensive for what it is (much less than Proclip), but I'm very happy with it. http://www.amazon.com/Kenu-Airframe-Car-Mount-Phablets/dp/B00LU5LWQK/ref=sr_1_1?s=wireless&ie=UTF8&qid=1414591766&sr=1-1&keywords=Kenu+Airframe%2B
I use the Mountek nGroove Snap that just has a magnet you can slip in your case that holds the phone like it's floating (I inserted the holder in the groove of my console but it'll also work with the cd slot. It has no issues holding my Note 4 with Slim Armor case: http://www.amazon.com/Mountek-nGroove-Magnetic-Smartphones-Tablets/dp/B00MNXAFQ6/?tag=server7070f-20
Nice to see so many fans.
If anyone is interested in saving some money, I've been a ProClip reseller since I designed holsters for them for Palm and Windows Mobile phones. Just migrated here from Sprint with the Note 4 and my old 87214 adjustable still works as long as I don't put a thick case on the Note.
All I can tell you here is I can save you 10% since they have MAP's in place. But if you send me a PM I can do a little better. And any questions you have, feel free to ask. I'm also on ebay as crogs571 (god if anyone remembers that handle from pdaphonehome.com days where it all started.) Haven't created an auction for the Note 4 yet (or even the iPhone 6...gotta get hopping.)
