I have now purchased the above GPS system and with the Tom Tom Nav2 BT/XDA II fix (dowloadable off the TT website) have it working absolutely fine....wow at last!!
Question, before I blow something. If anyone has the TT Navigator 2 Wireless kit (and possibly the wired too), it comes with a Cigar lighter charger that powers the GPS unit and this device/lead has an "extension power connector" piggy backed on it so it can connect to a PDA also. It comes with a connector for the Ipaq, not suitable for the XDA II. However, with the XDA II supplied acessories comes a small plug in connector for connecting to the XDA II AC power lead, so that you can charge the XDA II outside of its USB cradle, and this connector fits the piggy back type connection. I am obviously wanting to use this in lieu of the supplied Ipaq connector to enable charging of the GPS and my XDA II simultaneously. Anyone know if this is OK? Logically, it seems to be the answer to charging both devices from one Cigar lighter? Don't want to blow anything. Comments welcomed, thank you. Steve

Hi Steve,

Hi
I am trying to locate a car charger kit which will charge both my xda ii & my Fortuna Bluetooth Clip On GPS Receiver at the same time.
I searched everywhere and can't find one. Has anyone seen one for sale?
Thanks In Advance.
Jase
I have the same combination and i bought a splitter so i can put both plug in.
I'm using the splitter that came with the old iPAQ PCMCIA Expansion Pack! I don't know if they sell that seperately, but it's been working nicely.
Hi Cardfarther.
Where can i get a splitter from?
Cheers

try ebay under gps xda
Does anyone know if there is a cable available to use the XDA II with this brand of car kit. I have searched around but cant seem to find any info.
THere are still no connector from Mr. Handsfree so I made my own one !
have a look here :

Nice ! Did you make a 2,5mm to a RJ45 (?) cable ?
If you could please post the pin layout of the Mr. Handsfree, if have some Nokia 8110 headsets i can use the 2,5mm plugs from....
Mr. Handsfree
Here are a .jpg with the pin layout of the converterbox for Mr. Handsfree.
The diagram is not complete, but this is not important as it is only the pin connections which are important.
The right side is the RJ 45 plug's wire colors and the left is the plug for the phone.
If your 8110 has the 2.5mm jack connector then I will guess it is connected to pin 3,4 & 5 on the phone side of the converter.
My Nokia 6210 has a different connector than the 8110.
I dont think it is a good idea to connect the MDA directly to the RJ45 connector as there was some noise generated from the phone. The noise disappered when the MDA was connected on the phone side of the converterbox.
At some point in time there will most likely be an "Original" connector from MR. handsfree with charging capabilities but for now we have to DIY.
BTW. I tried to update my phone with the latest ROM and the sound was lost through the connector, so I am back to version 1.03.00.
Good luck with the project.
xda orbit to nokia 6310 hands free conversion
Hi BOB. I have an xda phone and a nokia 6310 state-of-the-art hands free in my car. I can be your guinea pig for conversion if you are willing to take a guess at the wiring mode. Just remember that xda uses same cable (usb 4 wire) for the hands free. Your help is much appreciated.
Cheers

Hi
Ive got a emtac GPS bluetooth reciever and this comes with an in car charger. The charger lead splits into 2 with one side going into the emtac and the other should go into the XDA II
However the connecting lead is missing. So I need a lead that goes from the split into the bottom of the XDA II - I already have a XDA II power connector that goes into the bottom of the XDA so its just the lead to connect the 2?
I hope I have explained that????
Any help would be great
cheers

It would be very unusual for a bluetooth wireless gps to be supplied with a lead that links the pda with the gps, if you have the car charger for the gps and a car charger for the xda then all you need is a double adaptor for your lighter socket to take both chargers. If this doesnt answer your question then try here and look at all the different leads, if your gps uses a standard mini usb plug then you can use the Fortuna lead to power your pda and gps a the same time. If you are going to be using a cable that links both I wonder what the sense is in buying a wireless gps because it rather defeats the object.
hi
thanks for the response, i can see your point about connecting a BT device to a BT XDA with wires - sorta defeats the object!
However I suppose it is saving on chargers?
I already have a 4 way in car adaptor, but one is taken for charging my phone, one for my BT headset, one for the BT GPS reciever and the 4th can only be used for an actual cigarette lighter, meaning I am one short for my XDA
So if I can get the lead to connect the GPS power to the xda then im fully charged!
My car looks like spaghetti junction with all the wires!
cheers

The USB port on that device probably does not support MTP, so it can't directly pull music off of the storage. It also was released around 2010ish (Based on a quick Google), before Android got the capability to send audio over USB so it does not support the Android standard. It will not be able to output over USB. You're going to have to use a 3.5mm cable to connect it to the headphone jack on the Nexus to get any audio output.
Ok, thx 4 help. Now i will buy 30pin to mini-jack adapter on ebay .
You can try one of those Apple 30pin <-> Bluetooth adapters. That way you can charge your phone over USB and just send the audio over Bluetooth to the dock. Something like this: http://thewirecutter.com/reviews/the-best-bluetooth-dock-adapter/
