so is there a fully functioning rom update for the xda2s as of yet, or are there still problems and glitches for bluetooth?
Have a search in the BA forums, there are several threads. It still has issues, but it is a little better. Avoid O2 active, do a corporate install instead (does not give you the o2 active stuff) or, soft reset b4 O2 active tries to install. Upgrade to build 3900 bluetooth manually afterwards (available on FTP site).

Since installing the BT patch on my XDAIIs, I've had no problems with Bluetooth whatsoever.
All of my old problems seem to have been sorted.
great thanx a lot you guys, im going to try this right now

I am close to seeing if my XDA2i and TT5.10 can swim better than it navigate without locking up . . .
I installed the corporate version when hard reset, and performed a clean install of version 5.10 as requested by the tom tom support team.
TT5.10 works like a dream . . .. if you dont get a phone call (locks up) or dont get a text message (locks up) dont want a traffic update (locks up) - in fact it probably works best if you do not switch it on . . .
After 10 updates to my online question, because getting to play a round of golf with the President is easier than speaking with anyone at tomtom, they replied . . .
"Thanks for the feedback. The issues that you mention should have been resolved with the update to version 5.10. I'll contact our technical team about this, and will get back to you." (yeah, right)
Thanks for the feed back? THANKS?? Maybe it should be us XDA2i users thanking TT for wasting our time getting lost because their update is more premature than me sharing a bed with a supermodel.
I contacted O2, because when someone calls me on my trusty XDA2i (locking up TT) the phone line is totally dead when I answer.
O2 said . . .
"The XDA2i has an upgrade due for release very shortly. We haven’t been given a set date yet, but I would suggest checking the website each day for the update - www.my-xda.com
Hopefully their new ROM will sort this issue . . . TomTom clearly not tested TT5 on an allegedly supported device . . .
Incidently when I ask TT to unlock my old TT3 code (because TT3 actually worked and I want to re-install it) they said . . .
"Unfortunately we can't unblock your Product Code for Navigator 3 at the moment, as this was code was blocked when you ordered the Upgrade"
If any one has any solutions, or a sledge hammer, I be very grateful
Hi there, im currently using TT5 with hardly any problems(im using i-mate ROM) but there are a few that may cause it.
Firstly the SD card has caused alot of problems for people, i use a 1gig card and it is the cause of most of my problems.
However i think the root of the many problems the 2i has is ... The ROM.
As O2 say they are releasing a new ROM soon and i can bet this will sort alot of the problems your having right now.
in the mean time you should think about installing the i-mate ROM which has made my XDA2i more stable.
I have an XDA 2i & can use Tom Tom 5 wiithout a problem, bearing in mind it is version 5.0. I haven't experiencd these problems you have mentioned.
My first XDA2i did play up (freezing up at random times!), after a quick call to O2, they replaced the unit & so far I haven't had the same problems. I just put it down to a glitch in the system.
I am however interested in upgrading the ROM as my version is the same as yours & from what I have read on this website, it seems that people find it worthwhile upgrading their ROMs to iron out the glitches. But is it safe to use upgrades meant for other devices?
I'm also using TTN5 without a problem, version 5.0 with the patch I posted here, before applying that patch it would crash fairly regularily, now however it's fine.
I have had problems when using a 1gig card on my XDA2i. It seems that any gsm/gprs activity causes the SD card to disconnect, thus freezing/locking up the phone, especially in TOMTOM. If I switch cards to a 512mb or 256mb the card does not disconnect and everything is fine. I had problems with the phone locking up whilst navigating and a call coming in, whis was with tomtom 3.07. Moving to tomtom5 cured all of this. I'd definately say it's a ROM problem with the XDA2i as my 1gb card will without fail disconnect when I switch on GPRS.
roll on ROM update....
I am running the i-mate 1.11 ROM and I have hardly any problems compared to when I was running the O2 1.10 ROM.
Rarely the phone will lock up when I hang up a call, and sometimes GPRS will fail to reconnect after a call, but in general it is *very* stable compared to 1.10.
WM2005 on the XDA2 has been perfectly stable for me, but alas, I sold it last week, and am now stuck with a more buggy device/os.
I upgraded to the imate 1.11 rom and now my bluetooth head set disconnects when the unit powers off. A call will come in and i have no headset icon. This worked fine under the O2 UK rom
Any ideas ????????? :? :?
yeah i tried the i-mate rom as well and was no good on my xda2i kept freezing the pda after i exited tomtom
i don't think it is the sd cards either that is causeing this as i have been though 3 cards already and there was never any difference allways locked up ..BUT the best i ever got was a clean install then using tomtoom updated traffiffic fine and the whole i did it about 10 times but as soon as it hit the gps cable thats when it all froze on me
I haven't experienced either of those problems with the 1.11 rom, and I use TomTom 5 (well, 5.10 now) and a Jabra BT800 headset all the time.
So many of the issues really are random.
Answers of problems with different roms
I've tried all the WM6 ROM's that were build and would like to give all of you some of my feedback.
I think the problems and solutions are depending of wich brand, phone edition, country and provider you are using. For example the MDA –pro from T-Mobile has different hardware than the qtek 9000 that I'm using now. So this might explain why some testers have problems with their phone while others don't.
This is why it sometimes is difficult to locate the problem. I mean how often do you see that people are saying "I have this and that problem" while many others are saying "Nope, works fine with me"... At the moment I have and old MDA-pro from T-Mobile and a brand new Qtek 9000. After installing Ivan's wm6 on the T-Mobile and on the Qtek, i noticed that the T-Mobile phone started out with nothing but problems. After installation and soft-reset I had the following results.
T-Mobile
1. It freezed after 1rst soft-reset after installation.
2. 3G connection dropped.
3. Reconnect to internet very difficult
4. Phone on, signal on but call don’t come trough?
5. Works better with radio 1.09
6. Bleutooth sucks with headsets and internet sharing
7. Often have problems with the windows media player
8. Synchronising takes ages (using Vista Ultimate)
Qtek 9000
1 No problems
2 3G on for 3 days now
3 Reconnection better but still not perfect.
4 Don’t have this problem
5 Same here, but as said can be provider
6 Lose my paired device (parrot CK3100)
mostly after a day or 2 quite irritating.
7 No problems until I use the hibernate
when installed not correct.
8 Synchronising works o.k. (using Vista Ultimate)
I can’t make complete list of all the bugs, but I just wanted to give you an example of the differences between these two phones.
The Rom from Ivan and Midget are one of the best at the moment.
Still I have some problems with their latest built (V3) and these bugs are based on my latest HTC Universal.
- As mentioned I lose my paired carkit device
- After changing settings (don’t know wich settings trigger this but..) you can’t create or edit a new email account. I haven’t install any programs, just synchronized with my laptop (OS Vista Ultimate)
Hi guys,
I've got an AT&T branded HTC 8900 (tytn II, kaiser, what else).
Using it in Italy, with 3G provider (Wind).
I've updated it with Dutty V3. and radio i tried 1.27.12.11, -.17, -11.31... and my 3G (neither GPRS) connection doesn't work. When i try to connect the modem suddenly i get the “The answering modem has disconnected” than the “There is a problem connecting to the GPRS service in to your registered home network” messages.
Before the update, the modem had worked fine with 3G connection, with original AT&T ROM.
Any suggestion?
TNX

I also have a problem with duttys v3 and 3g. I wrote about it in a diffrent thread already. i can make a connection but there is a certain "lag" when i try to request data from the internet. No Problems on GPRS though. Tried all the diffrent radio roms. no change. Operator is O2 Germany device is a HTC Tytn II. I got a new Sim card today, maybe this will improve the situation. The Sim has a diffrent contact-layout. Will try tonight.
I have the suspicion that S2U2 might cause the problem, but I am not sure. Do you use S2U2? If yes, what version?

I guess it was just a f#cking hidden setting!
Even if I removed all connection setting, it kept not working...
I've installed the removeHiddenProxy4CWS_0522 cab, ( http://www.cinetsystems.com/xda/ -> Kaiser Cab Collections )run, and after that it works fine!!
TNX!!
PS. HSPDA still enabled.
PPS. RADIO is again 1.27.11.31
Thanks Dutty! I tried your suggestion. I think it's a little better now but I still think the connection was more responsive in No.7 Rom. For example, when I log on to ICQ with IM+ it used to go straigt to a green "connected" icon. With v3 i get a yellow "connecting" icon for about 15 seconds and then the green one.
My new Sim card just got activated, but made no difference.
It's not that big of a deal for me, as my connection basicaly works.
I will test connection stabilty in he next couple of days.
Other than that v3 is great!! Thank you Dutty!
Are you planning on releasing a new Rom anytime soon?
Have a nice relaxing weekend Dutty!

Sweet!!!, I was having problems not being able to access the internet via PIE, but could using Opera...it was driving me Bonkers!!. This worked..
However, i'm still not able to access tom tom plus server!!, any ideas?
Hi! I reflashed v3 and everything seemed fine again. However I now have a problem where I can't call or receive calls when on UMTS. All is fine when I am on GSM.
I tried Alex's Multimedia Rom (1.56)...same story there.
I now flashed the HTC Rom that came with my Tytn II and so far (2 hours including several test calls) everything seems normal again. Will try to flash v3 again maybe tonight.
Starting to see everything in tricolor ;-)
Greetings from Aachen, Germany

Nope problems catched up again...does anybody know, if it is better to remove the sim and/or turn off the phone radio before flashing radio roms?
Thanks! Brevi
Dear all,
maybe this is the same problem?

Is the hidden proxy also installed in a vodafone Rom?
Thnx Max
sounds familar
hi,
please see other posts by me(any way to link these threads moderators?) for other threads with similar issues. To clarify, if you revert back to your original rom, your 3G and phone calls work again? I started having problems with my 3G and phone functions about a week after I got my AT&T tilt..but after I changed to one of dutty's roms.
If I disable 3G via the comm manager, all works well, voice and data etc, but I can only do edge speeds. Unfortunately, I live 15 miles from the nearest 3G area so its hard fo me to experiment with roms and settings.
Also, to confuse things even more, one 3G area will still work for me while the network closer into to the Boston metro area won't, leading me to think that a network provisioning upgrade in the Boston area may be looking for something in the original AT&T rom that is now gone. I'm hoping not and that a phone upgrade or mother board swap will fix it(as others are reporting). I should do a revert back to the original rom and drive to my "test" area and see if 3G comes back...that would suck if it does...the stock roms are awful and about 5 years behind the time as far as user interface...like my old Ipaq.
I really like the dutty roms and may just live with edge speeds(dutty a donation will be forth coming once I settle in on a solution dude ).

I guess I tried everything by now...diffrent roms including HTC stock rom, radios, flashing radio with sim in/out.
But the problem always comes back.
About to call HTC support and send my Kaiser in for repair.
Hope it won't take too long, I am addicted to this fine device.
Already charged my old Hermes today. Oh my god the Kaiser is sooo much better compared to the Hermes it almost made me laugh ;-)
Hi all, I'm quite happy with my current WM6.0 ROM and have everything configured nicely. Upgrading to a 6.1 ROM would mean losing all my settings and starting again.
I am however keen to get the latest Bluetooth stack. Is there any way this can be upgraded on the device separately without overwriting my settings and ROM?
Can someone purrlleeeease help with this issue?
Patience...
If someone has the info I'm sure they'll share it.
Yep, just would've thought some of the pros out there would know this off the top of their heads
Well, to be honest extracting the BT Stack and replacing it on your phone can be more trouble than it's worth. I remember all of the excitement about getting the Widcomm BT Stack onto some earlier devices. Seems like it brought more problems than solutions.
If your really want to try the latest stack then you might want to pick a WM6.1 Rom and have go at it. Personally I thought that it did some things better but also found so annoying issues (just not sure if they were BT or OS issues).
Hi all, I've got a UK retail G1 which I'm running JFv1.43 for UK RC9 on.
Since doing this I have lost the ability to connect to my Parrot car kit via bluetooth (not that it worked properly, but at least I could receive calls).
I'm also disappointed at the lack of Latitude. I was going to go back to the original RC9 but wondered about RC33.
Two questions:
1) What would be the service limitations to running RC33 on a UK phone (i.e. data network accessibility etc)
2) Does Latitude work in the UK, or will a UK IP block it?
Sorry if these have been asked elsewhere, but I've searched and browsed but can't find the answers. If there are other threads detailing these queries, by all means just point me to them.
Cheers
For lattitude, try http://latitudelauncher.googlecode.com/files/latitude_launcher.apk (this is apparently on the marketplace but I couldn't find it when I looked).
I've not had any problems with bluetooth on my RC9 (also a parrot). Not that I've used it much.. it's not my primary phone but does pair.
If you have a modified bootloader, it would not effect the overall transfer of data.
Thus, using JF's custom firmware will not (or should not) effect any performance on or limit anything on the phone.
Thanks guys
No problem.
If you have any other issues, feel free to hit any of us up (or just post back here)

It's strange, it would pair before on the stock RC8 although I couldn't send contact to the kit. Now if fails to pair at all.
Latitude worked, thanks for that!
The big problem with using RC33 in the UK would be the myfaves app "calling home".
