I found a good deal on XDA 2 batteries at www.pdamods.com
Dead link here.
Changed it, sorry I think I had a full stop in there !!
Good find! £10 cheaper than expansys.com, both seem to be 1200mAh
1400 mAh battery for Xda 2 at low price
hi ,i have found this battery that seems to be proposed around 42€
http://www.bluetrade.fr/achat/produit_details.php?id=75540
make sure they are original batts with all those people with cellphone explosions these last years
It seems fine, have been using it for 3-4 weeks now and I must admit it does last longer than my run down battery !!
Does anyone know if this will fit in teh XDA 3 ?
I picked up one of these:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=15034&item=5718353066
I'm very pleased. Life seems the same as the original battery.
Hi,
1) I'm in the UK
2) I am never sure about ebay, once purchased a PDA from there and that was my last time I used it !!
is the battery any good?
hi,
i visited this link and saw the 1400mAh battery or the qtek 2020, wanted to know, if anyone has used this, and if so, how reliable is it, and how much is the increase in battery power ?

Thanks

Ok hello there!
Got a short Q.
Is there any bigger battery's for HTC desire? i can change the plastic backside so it gets thicker if needed..
Were ever i look i only find Seidio 1600mAh.. but wonder if there is even bigger.
Best regards Thomas
I asked mugen power batteries about this about a week ago. they will release a "standard" 1600mAh during may.
The extended battery was under processing. not surrme what that means
Sent from my HTC Desire using the XDA mobile application powered by Tapatalk
hm. 200 more doesnt sound alot really.
I meen.. for if the phone is 2-3mm or even 5mm thicker does not matter for me.
and if soo maybe there is a 2000 or even 3000mAh avalible soon.
MVH Thomas
why need a larger battery? my desire last for hole 2 days with moderate to havy use. in light use I got up to 4 days.

Mugen Power already has available a standard size 1600mAH battery for Nexus One and HTC Desire share the same battery. (same HTC model number)
1600 mAH?
Read this http://androidforums.com/htc-desire/66987-seidio-1600mah-extended-life-battery.html
And specially this http://batteryboss.org/
The OEM 1400 mAH is still better than 1600 mAH.

Mugen Power's 1300 mAH lasts longer that standard 1230 mAH (4-6 standby hours better) on my HD2. Hopefully the 1600 mAH for Desire lasts at least 10 hours more than original 1400mAH if has the same quality.
I don't know if Sedio it's a High or low quality bettery manufacter

I am not sure, if you read the whole thread of this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=5936653
You will find out some interesting facts and figures, from user experience.
One user tested:
After running first the 2400 mAh for a couple of days, and getting more and more suspicious about the claimed mAh, then the 2700 mAh one and getting even more dissatisfied with that one, I decided to run a simple test to confirm my suspicions. I decided to put brightness at max, bluetooth on, leave sync on, GPS on and start up the video streaming app Qik. I ran it with live GPS tracking and left it on my living room table until it ran out of juice. First up was the standard 1350 mAh battery, it managed 110 minutes. Then the claimed 2700 mAh one, it survived 118 minutes, and at last the claimed 2400 mAh one, that managed 115 minutes. And this confirms my suspicions almost exactly, although I must admit I felt the 2400 mAh one was a bit weaker than the stock one, and the 2700 one a tiny bit better. But anyway, its so close to my experienced feelings after running them for several days at work, with very equal usage each day, that made all of them last almost the hole 8-9 hours on one charge, that I will not bother to run any more tests. Its good enough for me. So that means my claimed 2400 mAh battery is only around 1400 mAh, and my 2700 one is also only around 1400 as well. And this is batteries that are around twice as thick!

Only real life test will prove it and there were some tests conducted in the threads. That's why I warned users here to check and read that threads.
Otherwise, it is your money, feel free to spend it though
I am here is to give other perspective / source of information to CHECK, and I believe there is nothing wrong with this.

I'll test and report here... the HD2 version it's a good battery (no miracle, but noticeably better than original)
This external portable charger sounds promising. It has a claimed output rate of 700mA what is just as good as the original socket charger.
http://www.proporta.com/F02/PPF02P05.php?t_id=4662&t_mode=des
The other with AA batteries is questionable as I suspect it has not more then 200-300mA output juice which will take your desire 8+ hours to recharge fully if not touched. What is way to much if you ask me!

So you're saying that in testing through actual usage you've seen better results?
All conditions being the same, you've determined that the new battery gives you a longer amount of time between charges than the stock battery does?

yes, it last longer than the stock battery.
I bought three of these batteries, because they were like $1 each from China, and all of them are no different than the stock. Grab a tool and check the actual capacity and you will see that they are exactly the same spec as the OEM battery.
By the way, this is very old news. Did you search before posting? I didn't think so.

JK or not, he never did say it was an "internal" battery.
I bought one of these, isn't really 1600 but works good as a spare once my original dies completely.
I was thinking about buying a 1500 mah battery from ebay then I read a thread stating that the Inspire 4g stock battery lasted longer. The "Mah" rating is not industry regulated so basicly a manufacture can put 1600 mah on a battery thats 1100 mah without getting reprimanded or fined. So be carefull where you buy these batterys from and make sure the Co. is reputable first.

I had bought 2 Chinese batteries on eBay and they r worse than the stock battery helpful if your battery dies but none the less waste of money

The technology itself is the cap. For this size this is the most juice you are going to get, unless they figure out a way to pack more energy cells into the same amount of space. Which they haven't. Don't be fooled. The battery that came with phone is the best available for this phone.

I got some extended batteries and found I had to fully charge them then wipe the battery stats run it down to 0 then charge it to 100 before I saw an improvement, but now I can get like 13 or 14 hours of use on average. I also like being able to carry around a spare battery

All that did is calibrate the battery. It's not going to hold any more juice than the space allows. It's physics. Until a new technology comes out...
I get better battery life than that and I have never changed my battery.

if your oem battery is working fine ( rate: 12 hours - data and sync always on ) , then just buy a powerbank. cheapest one only 8usd on ebay.
I think the best idea is to buy a little portable charger.

I've been wanting to try the extended battery for some time now but dont know if there is a remarkable increase in battery life with these.. Practically, how much more life do you get out of one of these?
U r going to get a few hours more. But with smart management u can get a full day or a day more. But the real catch is now u have a spare battery (the stock one) for a quick swap - full charge.
Ive heard good things about mugen battery replacements. Not sure how cheap they are though
Can these batterys harm somehow to phone? Better battery life is something like "utopia" these days, with smartphones.

Now i wrote to the company, where i bought it(amazon at Laptopmate Germany). The told me that i will recieve a new One. I recieved it today and it has got 1580 mAh too-.-
I Know it firstly must calibrate, but with this, it dont change the capacity..
Whar should i Do?

but i bought it, because other users here told, that its good.

it try to contact anker now. maybe they can help me..
The battery really is 1900 mAh, but you cannot use the sensation to measure its capacity - the battery driver is seriously flawed and will give you rubbish figures, no matter which 'app' you use.
If you want to test the capacity then you'll have to make a rig with a known resistive value and time a drop in voltage, you could then calculate the capacity of the battery - but its a lot of work...
Also, the quoted battery capacity is a theoretical value, you'll never get to use all of it due to the way Li-ion cells work.

Don't worry man. If you wanted to see it's capacity with some software it can't be done. I have noticed that Battery monitor widget recognises new batteries as 1580 mah, but it doesn't mean anything. Your batter's fine
Oh okay.
Then i habe got 2 ankers for the price of One Now
But is there any simple way, to Check capicity?

There are probably two possibilities:
Use the stock battery, charge to 100% and notice how long it stays alive.
In Settings -> Power -> Accu Usage you´ll find a statistic about the powerdrain and the actual ontime.
After some charge cycles change to the anker and redo the steps. Then you will have an approximate result on how long your battery extend your batterylife.
The second approach is to touch the batterycontacts by your tounge. The harder the pain, the much higher it´s capacity
I´ve got the Anker for about 2 or 3 month and replace it sometimes with the stock. I´d say it stays alive for about 30% longer. (~2 Days 17 Hours)
My Problem is, i did the First method and the Anker isnt better.
My battery stays about 15 hours with Not more than 3 hours screen on. With both batterys.

Your problem is either your phone or the ROM, I get at least double that performance from the same anker battery.
The anker is only 20% greater capacity than the standard battery, that won't make much difference to your poor battery life. Do some searching to reduce your power consumption and getting your phone to sleep properly - if you are still on stock or ROM with wakelock issues then those are your most likely causes.

Me too! You sound exactly like me! I went through everything before I finally found this battery! I'm really happy now with the Mugen. It seems to be a true extended life battery. But you have to sacrifice the thin phone for it. It will make phone thicker but that didn't matter to much to me because of the excellent battery life. I guess it's a give and take. Battery life makes up for it for me but some people would never have it due to the thickness. It just depends on what you want. For me I was after battery life so I'm very happy. I got used to the thickness in about a week. If you don't mind the thickness give it a try! You won't be disappointed. The extra back they provide could be made better but the battery itself is really amazing! Your situation sounds exactly like mine so I think if you get the 3800mah you will be very pleased. As long as the thickness doesn't bother you. I do wish you the best and hope you get your battery issues solved soon! Good luck!
