How do I check how many MB GPRS I have used with O2?
Is there an automatic way?

Can someone tell me what the setting are for the GPRS connection for the standard O2 GPRS connection? I've managed to delete mine, and I really don't fancy doing a hard reset. I guess I need to know the APN + username/password/domain stuff. Can anyone help?
look or search in the network forum tons of posts include gprs settings to some or all mayor cellphone companys
Go to the O2 Active interface, select My XDA / Connections. Then select your country, Prepaid or Postpaid (contract) GSM or GPRS and click Finish.
It will setup GPRS for you !
Thanks!
Thanks for the info chaps. I've now got it working again.
excuse me guys, where can i find the O2 active interface and set up my GPRS settings?
On the XDA1 ? i have no idea, look for an O2 logo and click it.
o2 GPRS is dear as hell anyway, 2.33 per MB.. i miss my internet
I'm currently with o2 payg but o2 only provide wap and mms over gprs for payg customers. I would like to move providers to one that will allow full gprs web access on a payg basis (pay per MB or something)
A full contract is not an option at the moment.
Anyone have any suggestions ?
thanks,
malty
I'm currently with orange and TESCO (O2)
Both providers allow full GPRS facilities
orange is probably the best, in the long-term
I buy £10 and convert £4 into £16 (4MB) of GPRS
You then get a SMS when it is activated and another when it is used up
It is valid for 1 month
There is also one days unlimited GPRS for £1
Otherwise the standard rate applies at £4 per MB
TESCO uses the O2 network
Flat rate of £4 per MB
how do you go about converting the orange credit into gprs ?
Is it full web access ?
Do you need them to set it all up (enable) for you
To convert the calling credit for uswe with GPRS, convert £4 into "orange world"
Call 450 from your handset and follow the voice menu for "extras"
Would this allow me to use an Orange PAYG sim for full GPRS on my XDA1?
got an orange sim, set it up and its all working perfectly.
thanks for the recommendation !

Yes animmo
The orange PAYG will work with most GPRS devices
However, you will be charged the normal rate per MB
The trick is to load your phone with sufficient credit and then convert this as and when required in bundles of £4 into "orange extras" (or £1 for a days unlimited access)
been on this a couple of weeks now and it works a treat. Ive gone for the free text top up tariff (1000 text messages free if you top up total £30 in a month) plus i've had 2 £4 gprs bundles and a load of free picture messages.
All in all works out very well
One very slight problem I dont know if this is device or provider related. If I connect to the internet then try to send/receive a MMS message, it wont connect to the orange mms server. Conversely if I send/receive a MMS message i cannot then connect to the internet. I have to soft reset the device to switch connections, almost as if a server cache isnt being emptied or the modem isnt being fully reset or something. Going into and out of flight mode doesnt cure it either, just a soft reset.
Any ideas with this fellas ?
thanks,
malty
I have installed the i-mate uk vf contract cab, but have no joy connecting to Vodafone live!. I can connect to their wap network but that is no good for wanting to sync my outlook.
Has anyone managed to connect to the vodafone live! network successfully? If so I would be interested in your settings, as I have spent hours on the phone with Vodafone support, but they keep telling me it is a problem with my phone.
Many thanks,
Toine
If you need to sync your emails, then all you need are the correct AP settings for Vodafone, as per "Connections". For example, for VF-UK these are:
AP = internet
user = web
pwd = web
Hope this helps

Was on T-Mobile (UK) - Usage 4Mb
Now on Orange (UK) - Usage 20Mb
After configuring PDA to use ActiveSync the data usage on the line has jumped from 4Mb to 20Mb per month.

Is this going to be the same for all network's payg options?
please help ... anyone who is on a payg contract wth a sim free raphael or with any other suggestions.
thanks
thats a lot of rubbish!
go to settings >connections> ad new connection
use payandgo.o2.co.uk (or payasyougo.o2.co.uk dont remember) as acces point, payandgo as user password as paswword . thats it. if it doesnt connect use 193.113.200.195:8080 as proxy
i have to say that i've got terrible connection with o2 3g! keeps catting connection to the net (not actual connection) you have to disconnect anc connect again. i dont know if it is network or phone
