Can someone tell me what the setting are for the GPRS connection for the standard O2 GPRS connection? I've managed to delete mine, and I really don't fancy doing a hard reset. I guess I need to know the APN + username/password/domain stuff. Can anyone help?

Go to the O2 Active interface, select My XDA / Connections. Then select your country, Prepaid or Postpaid (contract) GSM or GPRS and click Finish.
It will setup GPRS for you !

On the XDA1 ? i have no idea, look for an O2 logo and click it.
o2 GPRS is dear as hell anyway, 2.33 per MB.. i miss my internet

Hi, i got a XDA and hope to upgrade to an XDA II soon, however, i can't seem to get my GPRS enabled T-mobile sim card to work on it. T-mobile just can't seem to be able to help at all either.
Is there ANYONE out there who uses T-mobile on their XDA to surf the net etc? Little help please on the settings etc.....

My settings say (Wm2003) internet2.voicestream.com for T-Mobile internet and internet3.voicestream.com for T-Mobile VPN

Password: one2one
It works for me on my xda2.

Hey Fresly, You sorted me out too. I was gonna call T-Mobile for the GPRS details but usually get the run around from them. Your settings are spot on .
BTW if I leave the GPRS on, am I charged anything or only if I look at stuff? I know that WAP is 10p a min but I am a little green on GPRS.

Despite all my efforts with Virgin Mobile in the UK I cannot get the correct GPRS settings. They claim their network supports GPRS.
Has anyone set it up?

I can connect using the setting supplied on the virgin site but I cannot browse web pages - I get the page is not available message box.
I do get the small [GPRS] displayed at the top of the internet explorer bar but havent managed to view a web page or use MSN messenger over GPRS.
If any one has I'd love to know the settings please : )

It could be the same as O2, you are allowed only wap access over gprs.

Ok is anyone using a UK unlocked O2 XDA2 using a PAYG SIM (any network - dont mind) and able to browse internet and use msn messenger?
If you are please can you let me know the network and your settings? I have read most of the previous posting and have not managed to set up this up yet - surely its just me being thick and it's possible

yes used both O2 and now virgin in an unlocked XDAII - at this moment trying to figure out the settings for it all but getting there - will update soon.

Ok here are the settings, but i am having problems - if i use the IP it doesnt connect, but if i don't it connects but i don't get any response from pages - i have noticed the xda is deleting the zeros(shown in red) - but as i gather this is normal for an IP to do this? (sysadmins advise?)

I've just moved my XDA 2 away from an o2 contract to Pay As You Go with Tesco.
I can't get my GPRS to work and after contacting Tesco several time, they are now saying that you cannot use GPRS on an XDA 2 on a provider OTHER THAN o2, because of some pre-set settings that can't be changed. I can view pda.o2.co.uk when connected to GPRS, but that's it.
Is this true? Is there a workaround? Does anyone have GPRS working on Tesco or any non o2 provider (if they were originally on o2)?

i can't speak directly for Tesco's pay as you go service, but I have had no problem accessing GPRS on my XDAII, which was bought under a 1 year contract in UK, after moving to Malaysia (on a local M'sian carrier).
what i do have trouble is, however, is setting the gprs up for mms services. Apparently on my cousin's xdaIIs bought here, mms services require connection to a separate gprs account, which can be specified on his mms settings but not on mine. and we can't seem to find anything different in the changeable settings! o well. i have no one to mms anyway...
somynex if you want help setting up your mms I can gladly assist. Its accually really easy. You have to set up your proxy on my work network. Just im me if you want some help.

i tried out hsdpa/3g for the first time last night by turning on data connection in comms manager .. but all i got was errors when dialing? do i need to input anything in the proxy/modem connection settings?

just rang o2 who said the HTC phones likewise blackberry phones are not compatible with O2 payg for internet servies :S i asked why they were then find for contract but was told that there are difference settings for payg/contracts which will only work with the appropriate sim. ... what can I do now? Is this going to be the same for all network's payg options?
please help ... anyone who is on a payg contract wth a sim free raphael or with any other suggestions.

go to settings >connections> ad new connection
use payandgo.o2.co.uk (or payasyougo.o2.co.uk dont remember) as acces point, payandgo as user password as paswword . thats it. if it doesnt connect use 193.113.200.195:8080 as proxy
i have to say that i've got terrible connection with o2 3g! keeps catting connection to the net (not actual connection) you have to disconnect anc connect again. i dont know if it is network or phone

Thanks for the reply, much appreciated. I have done that, but when i want to use the internet, it says it cant find the correct settings for o2 network, as i said the wifi side is not a problem, what else can i do please.
you need to enter the o2 gprs apn and username and password if those are used
settings->connections->connections and alter the my isp settings or whatever the
name is in you device
