i was trying to modify registry for permanent sms delivery report but deleted the whole 'Setting' by mistake!!! so i have to hard reset and everthings gone for sure...after that, i found everythings in english...by the way, the rom is english version but, it did support simplified chinese display and the seller didnt install anything when i bought the phone. so im confused...
i searched some local chinese sites for the solution and the easiest way to solve that is to install some support pack but i dont wanna install anything becoz the phone should support chinese itself. so im thinking...
ok, later i take the SIM card off the slot and hardset the phone again...once more, everythings english...great...english...
ok, i insert the SIM card into the slot and press power button...AFTER the power is on...SOMETHING IS BEEN INSTALLING...and after that...THE PHONE DOES SUPPORT CHINESE AND THE DATE IS CHINESE!!!
wow~i really have no idea why this happened...maybe the phone recognized the SIM card and KNEW its china so it installed everthing that supports CHINA automatically? LOL~
anyways, its done...im happy with that...
well, mayby some of you guys could tell me why this happened...interesting, isnt it?
here are details of my phone:
MDA with 64M @ win 2003 in English...4.01.12(?)
thanks for reading and this the longest post ive ever posted in china or nba board...lol~
can you post the link to the "support pack" you found?
I thought the only way i was goin' get chinese was to get shell out $ for CEStar.

sorry, maybe i didnt make myself clear...im going to say it again...
im chinese and living in beijing. the carrier is China Mobile, the sim card is ShenZhouXing(i dont think you would know that if you are abroad)...
the installed rom is 4.01.12 in English...radio 3.****...
first, i hard reset with the sim card in the slot...the system could not recognize chinese chracters...
later, i took out the sim card and hard reset the phone again. the system still could not read chinese characters and everything is like a box...
BUT...
after i insert the sim card back into the slot and press the power button...the phone is on and something is been installing...after that... the date is in chinese format while chinese characters are displayed correctly...which i really have no idea...
so, if u use the same rom version with me and if u have a china mobile sim card, u could try this why and which may save some $ ...
^^
thnx. i'll try.

i'm not. but for some reason my carrier logo is stuck like that in my profile.
soft reset
sounds like all was needed was a soft reset after the hard reset to get the chinese pack running - by removing the sim (and battery) after the second hard reset you effectivley soft reset it - hence the patch started to work

Hi There,
Please forgive me I am a complete novice when it comes to Android phone.
I have a chinese Dual sim phone that I have routed with superoneclick. I have put clockworks recovery on it with rom manager as I was trying to create a copy of the ROM. I also installed Droid X Recovery Bootstrap, however in droid x I pressed the fix permission option and the phone started changing permissions everywhere and now my phone wont start. It keeps booting up in a loop and I cannot get to the recovery to wipe the memory and start again
What SOC does the device use?
If its Allwinner based, you could boot from mmc or reflash with livesuit.
21ss, thank you for the reply.
Sorry my friend, I have no idea what you mean by What SOC does the device use?
You say that you can boot from the mmc slot, please tell how and with what software.
Never heard of livesuit.
I have attached a word document in rar of the ebay item that I purchest.
Any help that you can give me would be very much appreciated.
At the moment I have a paper weight.

Hey guys the good thing about this phone is that you cant brick it, it cant be hard bricked easily... but I suggest you go to this discussion and find possible solutions, I had same issue and even tho I never managed to fully sort the issue, its because of my laziness... I could if I wanted, I managed to get it to a position I can use it and I have been using it like so for months now... here is the link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1618775&page=3

Help Ascend G300 won't boot....
Dude you're my lost hope before i return this phone to seller and try to screw them somehow to fix it...
I accidently used ICS unlockbootloader .exe on GB 2.3.6 Android and now phone won't start at all.Huawei logo shows up then goes away and then again on and off constantly ..seems it can boot in because gingerbread bootloader is either gone or damaged by me doing ICS bbotloader...
I tried flashing any possible version of anything really (including B927 from Modaco forum ) but no luck ."Update Failed" every damn time..
My original version was B893 ( noo i didn't back it up grrr) then update to B900 something no idea what it came on phone updates so I just processed.I would be happy to get back GB the way it was if possible somehow...
The way i see it is now there's ICS bootloader in it but still GB 2.3.6 so because no version of ICS is there it fails to start the phone.Any chance to found GB bootloader that can be put on to overwrite ICS one or anything anything that will get me phone back..please...:crying:
I'm from Australia Vodafone.. sorry if my English is all over the place....desperate to get my Ascend G300 back ...

Try flashing b888. Download it.
Then extract its contents to your SD card...
Power off phone remove battery and wait 5 seconds then re apply the battery make sure SD card is inserted.
Now hold the power and volume + and - button so your holding power, volume up and down at the same time simultaneously.
This should... force it into a forceful update and the new files will override the os.
Tell me if this works. I have a few more suggestions..

Thanks for quick reply,
Tried that one as well as others B8xx and pretty much all B9xx inc. B944 but still getting "Update Failed" all the time..used "middle package" still failure.
It's seems to me that I either bricked the phone or what f$$k else I've got no idea.Thinking about returning phone to the seller with hope that they might replace IMEI..It might work since there's no way starting the phone to see what's been done inskde...I'll just say that phone doesn't want to start. What are you think?Of course mate I can try any more yours suggestions before doing this return try...
Really appreciate all yours efforts mate...:good:

No mate didn't get to that stage at all. After I did run unlockbootloader.exe all this started to happen.I know now it's my mistake because unlockbootloader I used is for ICS but I was still on GB.I realize that now clearly.
Is there such a thing as GB bootloader ? What I'm trying to ask if I can get from somewhere GB Bootloader and try to put it on somehow maybe then phone would start???
So as I said I'm out of options really...

I accendatily deleted my contacts both from sim and from gmail...help....!!!
Hi everyone,
last night i was initializing a huawei ascend g300 by inserting a sim card which has 175 contacts in its list.....i went ahead an synchronised first the phone with the gmail account throught wifi but had diabled auto-sync and back ground applications too....then went ahead and copied all those contacts to the gmail account by manage contacts>copy contacts>sim to gmail account and after that there were two contacts each name appearing hence thought i would delete and copy it once again from sim card hence i deleted all the contacts.
After deleting the contacts it came to my attention that i had accidentally deleted sim contacts along with the contacts which i had copied to gmail. All i needed to do is go into view setting and uncheck the sim and the phone such that only the gmail contact would be displayed.
I already tried the restoring of contacts from gmail account as the auto sync was disabled hence no contact was synchronised on the gmail servers
The phone itself is new hence i dint took the back up so that option aswell seems to be out of context now......
I am having the sim card data recovery software but do not have a sim card reader currently in search of it..will keep you posted furthur.
Isnt there anyway of using the phone as a sim card reader...or the sim slot at the back of lappy....as the sim card reader..?
I want to restore those contacts is there any way around it.....?
Any suggestion...advice would be immensly appreciated coz im in deep trouble...
Instagram video issue
Hi all, I bought a couple of Y300's - one for my father, one for my son, as they're such good value. Both totally stock and unmodded.
The issue the lad's having is with Instagram - video displays OK, but the sound is way out of sync.
Anyone else having similar issues? Apart from that the phones are going great.
Problem with Huawei Ascend G300 - please help
Hello guys, this is my first post here. I searched the forum and didn't find the answer, I would be really, really grateful if you could help me with this one.
I have Huawei Ascend G300. It was working really bad and slow lately (I did factory reset, didn't help) so I installed custom ROM - CyanogenMod 10.2, JB 4.3. The installation went smoothly, the phone was working fine after that, I installed all the apps.
But after a couple of hours, the phone just turned off. Just like that. And now it seems to be "dead". Now I can't turn it on and it doesn't recognize when I plug in the charger.
Any suggestions on how to make it work again?
Thank you very much

No need to go caps on me. Calm Down!
Anyway, so does it switch on when you take the card out? Is it just when you put the card in?
Hit thanks if you find my posts useful.
yes sir it does switch on with or with out card bt it dosent go past android/loading screen as i have no OS /Rom for it...
Oh so the problem is that you it just does not switch on anymore past android screen.
Thanks for the reply.
1) Try the SD in other devices. Does it work?
I think you now need help putting an OS on your device then.
Seeing as it is one of those cheap chinese ripoffs, you may be stuck.
Not many people have them and therefore not many people can help or make tools that can help.
Try looking in the manual for something like "HARD RESET"
What you want to do is try reset or flash a new OS on. But that will be hard unless you have a disk or USB with the OS on it.
Hit thanks if you find my posts useful.

Usually the problem just exists within the ROM itself. In the past, I have had to just switch ROMs or use a different browser. How about chrome?
Also, I am always happy to help so there is no need to say kindly. I have said that I don't come online all the time but when I do, I will come here to see if there is anything else you need.

I know there's another thread of mine with the same problem. But no one has helped me yet. I have a lg optimus one for a long time, I installed cm10.1 about 5-6 months ago, I didnt backup anything when I installed custom rom. I factory reset everything on it so I could give it to someone. But now, when I turn it on, checked the about phone. There is no IMEI. I need help from step to step. I dont wanna brick it. I want it back to stock rom 2.2 froyo. And I have been reading threads about people bricking their phone with kdz(dont know what it is). I'm a newb. I live in U.S

If this mysteriously happened then your SIM card is probably toast. Can you boot into recovery? Have you tried another ROM?
same happend to me, i root the phone and install recovery, an on every single rom i had flashed i didn't had any connection, and there was no IMEI number

If it killed the SIM - try another one - that would quickly prove that theory (although I don't know if I would risk a SIM from an active phone, but if you know anyone who has a phone that died or if you are lucky and can get 10$ SIM cards for pay as you go with no activation fee - it's a cheap way to test and gives you a spare SIM if you ever need it...assuming you have unlocked as well as rooted your phone).
Sounds more like you installed a rom with an incompatible base band if you have no connectivity to your carrier anymore. If you flashed straight to an ICS or JB rom without either upgrading it through the LG app or manually flashing at the time - try it now. (it's not going to hurt it more than it already is, and these phones are tough)
And with my first post I am starting to realize how much I have been digging into what could go wrong so it doesn't go wrong before I tried anything. However if I am wrong, please let me know!!
Hi everybody,
Yesterday I was using my beloved(!) Vivo Nex S (Chinese 256GB version, no root, removed some bloatware some months ago, Nova launcher, rest original) in a normal way, put it away and wanted to use it again about 1 minute later again. When I tried to access the fingerprint reader, I recognized, that the fingerprint reader didn't get green when approaching my finger. After about 2 seconds of trying, my Nex made a reset.
I could only turn it on by pressing the power button for more than 10 seconds begining from there. Until then, I just see the Nex Logo, then the stars flying, then the Nex Logo again. It changes colors, again and again, and after about 2 minutes it shuts down and vibrates twice.
Starting the phone while pressing down the volume up button at the same time, brings me to the chinese Fastboot mode menu. I've the desicion between reboot (no other effect than described above) and Recovery. Chosing recovery, it shows the Vivo Logo again and after about 2 seconds "Your device is corrupt. It can't be trusted and will not boot. Visit this link on another device: g.co/ABH". After 30 seconds it shuts down. No access to the recovery menu!
I contacted the (Indian) chat from Vivo support. The Vivo support doesn't want to be responsible, because I bought my phone in China. Sending it back would probably mean, that I definitely lose my data and that it will take a long time until it's back.
So I tried to get access over USB. I can see "Qualcomm HS-USB Diagnostics 900E" [SIC, it's NOT 9008!] on COM7. I then tried to get access using ADB, where I'm really unfamiliar with. Didn't get any connection. So I tried QFIL, where I could see my phone in the top line of the program, but didn't get any access. (Neither I'm a pro there...)
So, now my biggest hope at the moment: Is there a possibility to get access to my phone using ASTool? I read about it, that it should be a great helper in such problems, and that there could be some hope, that I could even save my data by just flashing some "sectors" of the original system. But there's another problem: This software seems to be not freeware, and all the hacks around have trojans inside.
What do you think about it? Does anybody of you pros have a clue, how to get into the phone, flash a new boot there and how to save my data (about 220GB, desoldering of the memory is not (yet) an option)?
Thanks A LOT in advance to everyone!

That sucks. I don't have a solution but I'm curious as to what is taking up 220GB on your phone?
I suggest rescuing the phone first and forgetting about the data.

Well... As long as there is some free flash space, it will be used, right? There are especially 4K movies from our trip to Australia and from my construction works at home (I'm building a pretty special smart home), because the picture quality of the phone was much better than the one of the Lumix TZ81. Some of them luckily have been backuped already.
Well, I could also try to wipe the whole memory first, but I thought I could try to just flash the boot area and get back my data as well and then afterwards make a proper installation again.
But how to enter the phone now again? Any ideas? And should I try the global ROM then (would be my favourite) or just the Chinese again?
Thanks for any comments...

I can't help you unfortunately. But I know you can't flash the global rom to the Chinese version and vice versa.
The only alternative solution is find experience third-party service in your country.
Otherwise you must send it to China and local Vivo service point.
And always take backup your staff on phone to pc or external drive now you wouldn't have worry if you had taken backup.
No 1 rule owning any kind electronic devices is to have backup because you never know with electronics device they're always a chance for hardware failure.
You don't leave this thing to luck.

Yes, I read a lot about the global ROM on Chinese Vivo Nex in the according thread in the meantime. I'm even thinking in opening my phone and bridge the contacts to get into the 9008 mode forballvofbyou (and for me of course ) instead of sending it back to China. But I'm afraid that I wouldn't even recognize, if I was successful there...
And yes, of course I learned that a (recent) backup would have been nice...
Now, for the moment I plan to flash the chinese ROM first again, in order to maybe being able to savevsome of my data first. Is AFT the right way? There's some kind of a "hack" needed in order to use it, and this one seems to have a Trojan inside! Isvthere a "trojanfree" solution somewhere?
Best regards and thanks a lot for your replies!
Disable Windows defender and run the tool.
That's what I did myself when tried last summer flash global rom to Chinese version.
There's instructions and video tutorial here at Vivo Nex thread a member who upload about how to flash using AFTool
https://forum.xda-developers.com/nex/how-to/rom-vivo-nex-global-rom-1-7-18-service-t3831866/page2
Post 15.
But in order to flash Chinese rom you need having the full zip file and I don't know if there's a indipended source of downloaded.
Easy firmware site has only global rom but not Chinese one last time check.
And doubt Vivo support will provide you that file you'll need in order re flashing you existing Chinese rom version.

Well, there's a Trojan in the authorisation tool in the version I got. Did you have to activate yours using this activation tool under your link, or is it usable without this activation as well?

I think, I would even need the Flashfile itself, as I'm not able to transfer the files from a ZIP-file into the internal memory anymore. And yes, you're right. Have been searching the Chinese ROM now for hours, but didn't find it anywhere... :crying:
Found the Chinese (official!) download of the ROM, just for those, who are interested:
http://sysupwrdl.vivo.com.cn/upgrad...es/PD1805_A_1.21.3-update-full_1541422501.zip
It's not even needed to have a stupid Baidu account (which is just registerable using a chinese phone number, which again is just possible to use a Russian phone number creater, which again is not so easy because most of the numbers are already bloked, which...). No, it's just a normal, direct download link!
And hey guys: This evening my Vivo Nex just started to be able to enter the Fastboot menu again!!! Why ever, but that's partial good news (for me at least).
And again for all of them, who want to have an English translation of the menu structure; Here it is !
- Reboot System
- Wipe Data
---- Clear Cache
---- Restore all settings
---- Clear all data
---- Return
- Install Update
---- Mobile phone storage
---- SD card
---- Return
- System repair mode
---- Enter system repair mode
--------- Restart
--------- Download latest version and installation (using WLAN)
--------- Shutdown
---- Cancel
- Power down
- Advanced options
---- Upgrade via USB
---- Upgrade Systems & 3rd party applications
--------- Mobile phone storage
--------- SD card
--------- Return
---- Verify system file integrity
---- Open ADB restart
---- View the upgrade log
---- Return
Some words, what I've seen on my soft bricked phone this evening:
- Wipe data -- Clear Cache: Tried this, but without any changes in behaviour
- Install Update -- Mobile phone storage: Didn't find any backup from Vivo in all the folders and subfolders on my phone. Even though, I could see the whole folder structure from my phone, so theoretically all the data are still there!
- Install Update -- SD card: Just trying this, as soon as the download of the Chinese ROM finished. Maybe with a dirty Flash I would be able to reboot?
BTW: IS THERE A WAY TO JUST FLASH SOME SINGLE FILES INSTEAD OF THE WHOLE ZIP FILE?
- System repair mode -- Download latest version and installation: A message pops up, that nearby WLANs are being searched. But after about 10 seconds it turns back to the previous menu, whithout any success.
- Advanced options -- Verify system file integrity: I get a pass here!!! Unbelievable... Don't know what's still hindering my phone to boot up just in a normal way...
- Advanced options -- Open ADB restart: Could this maybe help to enter the 9008 mode, which many of you out there are trying to reach? Don't understand this in detail, so please don't be mad about me, if this is a silly question...
Thanks for your patience with me, and hope, that some of the information could maybe also help someone of you out there...?

Well, there's a Trojan in the authorisation tool in the version I got. Did you have to activate yours using this activation tool under your link, or is it usable without this activation as well?

Seems as I found an already patched version now, which also seems to be free of malware (at least on my PC, using the Windows defender):

Next problem: Can I use AFTool (which is up now) to flash the Chinese ROM to my Vivo Nex again, without having the 9008 mode? And how to do it? Most videos showing solutions in the internet are about cracking the software and not how to use it afterwards...
Well, I tried to find the "fastboot_flash_all" file in my downloaded version of the firmware. But can't find it there (see below).
Because of this I tried using QFIL, but can't find the MBN file again... Boah, it's a really hard puzzle this time...
Unfortunately I can't help you further as my knowledge and only experience was when tried last summer to flash global to Chinese version but it failed and dropped any further examination and leave it as it is.
I haven't tried re flashing existing rom wearing Chinese version device using AFTOOL.
Vivo tools really sucks on those aspect and they're not helping either but just saying to anyone has problem visit Vivo official service.
All the info you can get here xda is the specific topic only provide you above.
Maybe you can try sent pm to member who gave all the information and idea of how using AFTOOL.

Dear paatha13, Thanks anyway for your support and your ideas! In the meantime I maybe "accidentially" unlocked the boatloader. Being desperate, I tried everything. Hope it didn't really happen or at least, that it won't have an influence on the warranty of the device... Yes, maybe it's just better to give up there and send it back for "Mainboard exchange", as they call it.
If you're still interested in trying to change to the global version (for me it's really in the background at the moment), maybe this "Unlocking-tool" could help you somehow. I posted the link in the according thread here:

Completely agree, it really sucks, that they aren't interested in helping in an easy way by blocking everything.
Well, thanks again, hope I'll be able to help also once. Even if it's only in a "mental supporting" way.
