Saving SMS and call history (permanent) - General Topics

Hei,
Sorry, can someone please help me. I have tried hard finding the information I am after but have absolutely not found it. I'm a girl in trouble now.
I need to swap SIMs for my XDA2 ..and has happened before that the device actually resets itself in this process, and as a result, I lose also the call history listing and SMS messages there. How can I make sure that the call history and the SMSes are being backed up to my PC and can then be restored as they were, even if the device has reset itself. You help is really needed, Thank you!!
(see, I need the call history e.g. to bill my employer for all the phone calls made in the last months, and all the SMS messages needs to be available as well. Currently I have calls and SMSes listed on my phone since March last year. The carrier/SIM can only store 20 SMSes)
Thank you!!!

Hope this helps a bit,

HELP - Call History Recovery possible?

I need a bit of help here please!
so i was out last weekend and met a hot girl, got her number but i just did the old put it in my phone and dialed it to save the number in call history thinking i would save it properly later. But then next day i forgot i had done that and reset my call history on my phone loosing the number! gutted.
so is there anyway i can restore my call history or is this just going to be the one that got away?
thanks for any help!
did she actually answer the call? If so you may be able to retrieve it from your on line itemised bill, if your carrier offers it.
nope, i just dialled then hung up so it would save it in my call history, oh well!

Call times / Reset Call Timer

Am wondering if anyone knows an app or way to reset the total phone call timer on a HD2. It would be nice to have an app or method to reset my call timer when my provider billing cycle starts each month, so I can prove they are over-charging me for calls. All the old school phones had this feature, even a way to enter your call rate and have it calculate your call costs for you. Appreciate any help. Thanks.

Cannot be done at this time, this one is like an odometer for your phone, it is made so you cannot sell a used phone as new ....
Search, this has been asked many times ....
There are apps that can track your time, or ask your provider if they have a shortcode to tell you your minutes ...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=675718
just one of many threads on the subject ...
Thanks for the quick response, although not overly helpful it suggests that there must some legal reason why you cannot reset the phone's 'master' call timer (like not being able to reset the km's on your car). I already searched these forums on 'call timer' and other derivatives but found nothing useful, therefore asked. Also, the link you gave advises it is an invalid link? Would anyone else be able to shed some light...surely there's a genius in the community who has written an app for win mo that can track your call time? Appreciate any assistance.

I hope that no one does figure out a way to do it. Most who want a way to do it, want it so they can sell a used phone as new or barely used. They come on forums claiming they just want to be able to track this or that, but most know what they are up to.
Sorry guys - I must need to be clearer.
I don't want to reset the phones master counter. That would be ridiculous.
I want an additional counter that I can control. Just like being able to leave your cars master odometer whilst you reset the tripometer for each short trip you take, so you can see how far you traveled in any day. Surely theres a way to read the call history log and total up the time between 2 given dates? I'm new to mobile programming but can't find a way yet to do this in .NET CF.
Thanks again for the response.
I don't know if it's working on HD2 but i used it on my old kaiser phone.
Phone Dashboard 2.01
its tracking call time / data usage / sms.

That's useful - thanks.
Call history - why are we not shown the length of the calls anywhere?
I've searched but found no app that tells me the length of my calls. All the apps that available (including the default call history in Sense) only show the time you made the call, not the length of the calls. This would be very useful, wouldn't it?
Help anyone?
Thanks.

[Q] Need Help With Recovering Call Logs!!!

Hello --
I have an emergency situation involving a Galaxy S4 and missing data and I am hoping someone here can help me in the next couple of days. The phone all of a sudden deleted all call logs more than a month old. The phone is a year old and there are no settings in the phone to manually change call log storage. There is plenty of memory and space on the phone. The issue is there are several incoming phone calls which are not showing up on the carrier's phone bill, they only showed up on the phone's call history.
From what I have been told the only way to recover missing call logs is if you have "super user" access and have not factory reset the phone. The phone was never rooted and it was not backing up the call logs to the backup app on the phone. The app only maintains event history, so you can see that a phone call was received at a certain time but there is no phone number.
Its very important that the call logs are recovered due to a legal matter. I am also trying to figure out how to stop the call history from auto deleting and figure out why the phone is doing other strange things. Is there someone on these boards who can either physically help me in person or who legitimately knows a way to retrieve the call logs from the OS? I know it is possible according to the manufacturer but I don't have the tools to do it. (And yes I have been to the carrier, Samsung and multiple cell phone repair shops). I almost need a cyber security expert or something to troubleshoot this.
Thanx

[Q] Need complete phone solution.

I am trying to consolidate all of my calling and texting into one app with one phone number that i can use on any device, I.E. android, windows, and hopefully, IOS in case i need it in the future using only an internet connection. Here is what i have right now, how i use it.
I have a Google voice account with one phone number. The problem with this is that i can't receive or make phone calls, i can only send and receive texts, and limited texts at that. Just to try to increase my text limits, I signed up for a Google business account, but really that just gives me a bunch of extra crap i don't need, I.E. a webpage.
When i first signed up for this account i had Verizon as my carrier so i linked my current number to the Verizon account. I have since canceled my service with Verizon, but i don't want to delete my current Google number because i am being told, once i click on delete, that i have to wait 90 days to get a new one. I would also prefer to not get a new number, but as long as i can gain full functionality for voice and text, i really don't care.
To make phone calls I use Skype. This works good enough for outgoing calls, but it shows my Skype number on caller ID, and i can't receive calls with it. So these two apps combined allow me to send limited texts, receive texts, make calls, but i don't have a way of receiving calls.
I am already paying more than enough for my twelve gigs of data through sprint every month, and I refuse to pay fifty bucks a month to only be able to receive phone calls, but paying a little more every month for an outside service wouldn't bother me too much. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance
Tell Sprint to go have sexual intercourse with itself, and switch to T-Mobile. Unlimited high-speed data, text, and minutes for $80/mo.

i dont know about calling, but google hangouts consoilidates all your sms in one place.
I got the hangouts desktop extension for chrome, and I can make calls from it, and I'm pretty sure i can send texts, but i still cant receive calls. One problem I'm having with it is that when i try to just type in a contact's name, it brings up a bunch of people i don't know instead of at least bringing up my google contacts first. Does anyone know how to fix this. I can't remember where, but I've also read that google is on a path to eliminate google voice, and consolidate everything to hangouts, so this might be future proof as a stable phone solution for at least the life of a cell phone contract.

[Completed] [Q] HTC One M8 can't make or receive calls

I'm rooted, running stock Lollipop Sense 6.0 software number 4.28.502.1
I can send and receive texts with no problem.
Whenever I try to dial a number the call immediately ends without even a dial tone. Whenever I get a call, I have no option to answer the phone, I receive no notification of an incoming call or of a missed call. In fact the only way I even know someone tried to call me at all is because YouMail sends me an email letting me know a voicemail was left.
Some background: I had been using the module/app "Blacklist" with the Xposed Framework for about 3 weeks. It had been working fine, without a hitch, in blocking 3 numbers from calling me. I don't know that this is the app that has caused the problem, but it has root permissions to end all calls prematurely and I had it in the settings to leave no notifications when it blocked a call from a number on my blacklist. So I figured that might be the best place to start.
First, I checked "Do Not Block Calls" w/in Blacklist, rebooted my phone, but nothing changed.
Then I unchecked the box next to its module in Xposed, rebooted, but nothing changed.
Then I uninstalled the module/app all together, rebooted, but nothing changed.
Then I did a system restore from 4 weeks ago but nothing changed.
So finally I did factory data reset...and still, nothing has changed.
SIM: Could it be the SIM card? I haven't physically done anything to it. And would it let me still send and receive texts but not calls? I've downloaded a basic SIM info app from the Play Store and everything seems to look normal. Regardless, I bought a cheap unlocked Blu phone from Amazon which should arrive May 30, 2015, so I'll pop my SIM into that and see if it lets me make calls.
If you have any ideas or can help me at all, I'd greatly appreciate it.
