SPEAKER PHONE - General Topics

Does the XDA have a speaker facility for the phone? If so, how can I get it to work?
Thanks.

on xdaII you just have to push the green phone button for a few seconds.
I thought it was the same on xda

Yes, just hold the green button down when dialling, an icon will appear at top of screen.

Using Smartskey to Enable Speaker On in a Call

Hi All,
Is there a way to edit Smartskey to allow using one of the hardware buttons to trigger the Speaker On/Off option?
Thanks!
Speakerphone?
It's already hardware button binded to press and hold green call button, during a call. Handy in the car when your bluetooth headset needs a charge, quick press the green button to answer, then immediately press and hold to switch to speaker.
Or do you mean use the speaker for other purposes?

Tried it on my ETEN X500 and it places the call on hold instead.
In addition I'd like to be able to switch to speakerphone whenever, meaning
When I receive a call or place a call myself.
Not sure about Eten phone, but HTC's phone (most if not all), you will have to press and *keep holding* the green button long enough (while on call). Pressing it will give you 'Call on Hold'. Alt, you try PhoneAlarm .. or PocketPhone Zen (something like that) that gives you profiles (like Nokia phone) that enables you to have the option of getting speaker phone automatically upon receiving.

touchscreen broken?

Hello,
I've got me a used o2 xda orbit 2 to enter the world of winmo.
Though I can power it on and the o2 screen shows up + windows starts
the screen doesn't recognize any input on the screen, when asked to
do so to initialize windows (I guess the xda was reset).
The keys, at least the scroll when and center button and power on
button are working and responding. I used the center button and the
scroll wheel to turn the device off again after holding the power
button for some time and got a "turn off? yes / no" window.
I wonder if it is the touch screen (as the display is working fine) or
if it could be some software thing?
Attached how the screen looks like when the xda is turned off, dunno
if that helps.
Thanks for any help!

question about ending calls

Is there any way to end the call by pressing the power button?
I don't know of a way to do that. But, I also can't think of a situation where that would be beneficial. If you are using the phone directly, as soon as you move the phone away from your face on the screen there is a big red button. If you are using a heaset they all have buttons on them to end the call.
What is the situation you are experiencing where the power button would be more convenient than the onscreen button, or button on heaset?
Iv just came from the I phone and was use to pressing the top botton.
which will end the call and blacken the screen with just one button. instead of pressing to end the call then turn off the screen.

[Q] Phone won't hang up - No red button

I have a Rogers Samsung Galaxy S2 LTE. Rooted but otherwise stock.
I've read a couple of posts where people say the phone doesn't hang up when pressing the RED button. My problem is different.
When I make a call if I stay on the call screen, I don't have the problem, I can hang up when done.
When I make a call and wander away from the call screen, either hitting home or task manager and switching tasks, when I come back to the phone to hang up (by pressing the green phone icon, bottom left) the screen I'm returned to is different, and doesn't have the RED hangup button.
Basically instead of having the in-call screen (Add call, keypad, end call, speaker, mute and headset buttons) it has the ready-to-call screen (numbers, Green dial, yellow email and back arrow).
I try everything to get back to that screen, but the only way I can hang up is to power off the phone. Rather serious. Help please.

If you navigate away from the call screen, then you have to pull down the notification bar and press Phone. This will bring you back to that previous call screen.

Control phone mic from notification or lock screen

Does any one know of an app that's puts a mic software button on the notification pane or the lock screen. I hate having to open the phone app just to mute or unmute my mic. There's a hang up button, but no mic button. Thanks!
Well, if I'm not mistaken, there should be a " Return to call " button in place of Emergency Call on the lockscreen.
As for the notification, that, I do not know. :/
