Can anyone please advise on what would be a good price in pounds sterling to pay for a very good condition XDA2S I have been offered one at £250 but think this may be a bit expensive.
Since it is a while since I have been on the newsgroup I do not know if there are problems with this phone, therefore not too sure if it is worth buying one
Or can anyone recommend where to buy at a reasonable prince and/or if alternatives are available/better.
Much appreciated....John.
If you're unsure of the going rate of an XDA 2s check on Ebay, that gave me a decent indication when I bought mine... although I actually did buy mine from there anyway in the end.
I would say that £250 is a pretty good price providing the screen and housing is in good order.
xda in £'s
thanks I'll check this out. john
http://www.mobilefun.co.uk/deluxe-htc-desire-hd-desktop-charging-cradle-p26571.htm
I am looking for this cradle from anywhere that accept Paypal but except mobilefun.co.uk.
I haven't managed to find any though. If anyone found one or similar (but with audio jack and headphone external jack like that one), let me know.
Yeah my eye also on this cradle. Unfortunately I haven't found it on ebay either. Mobilefun only has it. I hope Chinese guys wake up immediately and see this
mobilefun will stock it in 2 days but I'm not willing to buy anything from a shop which uses discrimination policy (higher price for non-UK buyers) when others sell at the same price. Since they are all Chinese, let's wait and see, maybe they appear somewhere else as well.

Hey! We're just getting our own back. Normally we (in the UK) pay MORE than non-UK peeps for the same thing. The usual story is that something that costs $10 in the US will cost £10 here. When the exchange rate is £1=$1.50!!!!
And I can't see the different pricing. I put one in my 'cart' and asked for international delivery and it was just a few pence more than delivery in the UK .... and they HAVE to charge more for international delivery than UK delivery seen as how they're a UK company.
Or have I missed something?

You are missing something.
Of course delivery price will be higher depending on the destination. The price difference I mention is not in regards to exchange difference. I mean that you buy a DHD for example which is shown GBP470, if I buy it from outside UK, they will convert it to somewhere around GBP560 although this is not the real exchange rate. I contacted them and they state this as a policy. mobilefun and expansys does this so I am not shopping from them. handtec and a few other shops don't do this. I bought my DHD for GBP470 form them at that price and the loss of currency convertion will be something that I either win or lose during payment from my bank account and it wil not be so significant, maybe a few pounds.

Oh, I see what you're saying. But that's just what we Brits have had to put up with for years so I have no sympathy for that particular problem. Hope you get the best deal you can though.
Dave
Was interested in this but £20+ seems quite steep for a piece of plastic, a USB cable and a battery connector.

I'm sure this is the same if not a similar product if your looking for a Paypal compatible seller.
Anybody know of a cheaper version of the product without the extra battery charger?
I've seen a lot of...

these floating around eBay but worry about the transfer speed / reliability of the product.

as an experienced ebay user in both selling and buying, you will be hard pushed to find something cheap that is shipped quickly AND is of good quality, better to spend more and get it from a reputable supplier
Price 416.00 but it will get more inters than just selling at Sears and officedepot.

Hmmm.. It says You save $83.30. Is the retail price for the Gtab $499?
If so, seems like we've been getting a good deal !
Jim
On Saturday they had it for 399, I know because I bought it for that price. Combined with Prime and two $50 Visa giftcards, I was able to buy it with a 16gb SD card for $328 and get it on Wednesday. No docking station like the Sears deal but still incredibly satisfied. Many thanks to the devs on this forum and all the testers etc. making this tablet the great gadget it is today.

hmmm... I was ALWAYS of the opinion that for what it was, even $379 was high and that $299.99 would've been a more reasonable price especially given that the Sears here had the display between two cheaper and more capable netbooks... just because it's a "tablet" doesn't make it magically worth more...
Samsung really ought to thank Barns & Nobles and Amazon. Lots of people bought these devices for the holiday, realized they're poor excuses for tablets, and returned them.
And now the more expensive galaxy tab, only 100 or so more saltier than the above craplets, is a viable choice. I wouldn't have paid 400 for one, but now with the cheaper price at best buy, it's only a hundred dollar jump from the nook tab. Especially, if you opt to pick it up from a store in a tax free state.
Has anyone found a better (lower than $350) price, or even the same price at somewhere other than Best Buy? They are sold out in literally a 50 mile radius around from where I live. I would hate to see the price go back to $400 before I get my grubby mitts on one.
Hey, it's a good sign, no? The more popular the device, the greater liklihood of great and diverse dev support, right?
Duely blundered from my thunderdolt
Amazon has them for 349.99. No tax in most states.. Very easy return if you have a problem with it.
Got my GT7+ brand new for $299 (before tax) at CompUSA. But that's because it was an unadvertised store special on Black Friday.
I'm sure they are back to the usual $399. Still, my belief is that everything is negotiable. Ask to talk with a manager and try to swing a deal, say a lower price on the tablet as long as you purchase a memory card with it or a case or some other accessory. Can't hurt to ask.

Looking for a powerful laptop within the £450 range. Any suggestions?
I think so...but
I think that you'd better take a look over several laptop brands such as ASUS or HP, from what i know those two are very reliable and I figure that for such a price you will get a good one of them. Try comparing prices over the net, you will see that for 400 you'd find a laptop worth buying.
Newegg
I usually get great deals (500$ and less) on laptop computers from Newegg but I don't know if they ship to UK.
In the UK, eBuyer, Overclockers UK, Dabs, KustomPCS, LinITX and MicroDirect seems to have pretty decent prices.
Refurbished laptop computers has always been a good investment for me... Never had any problem.
Just search on Google to get their URLs.
Hope it helps!
ASUS usually give the same specs but with the cheaper price than other brands......

Thanks will look into these. I just need something that I can really use day in day out really, and will be powerful for software programming/compiling etc.
ASUS I've noticed are actually cheaper with same specs - but is quality and power the same in ASUS laptops?
