Hi guys,
Finally I'm going to join the HTC family!
In fact I'm waiting to receive the I-mate JAM I purchased via expansys; the fact is that I would like to keep all my old sms.
I would like to know how can I transfer them from my old pda phone to the new device.
As far as I know, SpriteBackup has several problems backing up XDAs inbox; I think that JAM, as every HTC device, will be equipped with XBackup; so I would like to know if it's possible (or if someone has already done it) to dump that program from another XDA device so I can use it on my Anextek and backup without problem my inbox data and use them with the JAM.
Is it possible? Someone has any other advice?
Thanks
The best way is Jeyo...

Hey folks!
I have got a new work phone (nokia8800). Now I want to copy atleast my contacts to 8800 from my existing O2 Xda Exec. Copying the messages/notes would be even more nice. I can get my contacts to Outlook, but cant move them to Nokia.
I know this is not the right place, but probably some of you have already done this. Any and all help is much appreciated.
Regards
Hmm.. people likes to move things around
Nokia 8800 is an expensive phone and I presume it support a connection to the PC with Nokia's PC suits (or communication manager?), which said it can sync with outlook. Use that.
thanks mate!
worked it out anyway...
will reply to the bloke on that post as well...
cheers
Dear Forum Members,
First off all, let me introduce myself, I am very fresh owner of that beautifull joy - HTC Kaiser, which I suppose may become a thing I was looking (unsuccessfully) for. I used Nokia Communicators for a long time, but missed some applications.
I am happy with the device, but have several problems with the default software inside. First of all during one month, three times my device rebooted and said that I have to upload EVERYTHING from the scratch and had no backup... Second, my device communicates through Bluetooth to sync the data with my computer but I am unable to use it as an access device to the internet via radio. I have to plug the USB cabel in to do so. Familiar people said I have to upgrade the software and it should solve all my problems.
As here in Poland our GSM operators have really poor support for its users I am unable to find ANY information about upgrading my devide. I went through your posts, but still have no idea where to start. Will each software work with my operator?
Would be great if someone could help me with choosing right piece of software or just giving some ideas where to start to learn myself.
Regards,
Wojciech
Following this link would be a good start..

How could I back-up Samsung SGH-i600 ROM?
>I've just got a brand new one today (along with 1Gb SD card)
>I'd like to UpGrade it to WM6, but need insurance: I can reverse it back
..for those who succeeded UpGrade to WM6, any one feels sorry and need to reverse to Original Version? Why?
I'm sorry for too demanding, any help is appreciate
..sorry for my English
Hello Community and Experts ;-)
I am really new to this ROM-things and this is my question too. Maybe some experts here can help me out. Would be fine
I got my brand new European Samsung SGH-i600 with QWERTY keyboard these days with ROM-Version i600XXGC2. Can somenone tell me, what kind of ROM this is? And is there a newer Firmware for my device?
And now I would like to know if i can roll back to WM5 if I upgrade to WM6 and don't want to keep it and HOW TO DO THIS.
Can i backup my current ROM exately like it's now, so i will have the same i600 i have now? Is this possible? And how to do this?
And with my i600 came the original WM5 disc. So can I install from this disc to WM5 again, if i don't want to keep WM6 and have the same state like now?
Would be really nice, if someone could help me out. I'm not afraid of experimenting with my device
Oh, two more questions
When i upgrade to WM6, is there a possibility to install and use the Carousel Home Screen? I like it very much in WM5 and would like to use it again in WM6.
And is there a possibility to make some settings in the internal mail program or a registry hack so that the mail programm does not delete the mails from the server when i delete it in the program?
Thank you for your help

Hi,
I'm new member here, so I'm expecting a little bit of help from you guys (girls )
I need some software to back up data from my HD2 (contacts, SMS, pictures, etc.) Can someone recomend me some reliable software? I need this because I must flash my phone.
Thanks!
Hi
I used to be on this forum back in the early 2000s, and a regular contributor using my XDAs (Xda, XDA II, IIs, Exec, the Ameo (bad idea for usability, but the screen was great) and the Tytn II. Half way through the last one, I switched to the iPhone.
That pointless bit of information aside, I recently came across some old data from 2007 - 2010 and I’ve really enjoyed looking through all the backups and saved data from that period in my life. However, I’ve also found a PIM Backup err..backup...that I would like to get access to - but there seems to be no method of getting access to this without an old WM PPC phone.
I am aware that you can download an emulator for old version of WM5, 6 PPC etc, but I’ve been struggling to get the right combination of OS and installed SPs or Visual Studio et al in order to get the thing working. I therefore have two questions:
Does anyone know of any way in which to extract data from those PIMB backups?
Can someone please give me a proper rundown of how to get a working emulation of WM5 or WM6 for Pocket PC, so that if necessary I can install PIMB and extract the data that way?
Any help would be really appreciated, and it’s good to see this site doing so well - even if it’s completely changed focus and design since I was a regular here.
Cheers
Ant
In the end I figured it out. I had to download MS Visual Studio 8, and then the WM PPC 6 Refresh kit, then download the ROM for WM PPC 5 / 6. Even then it wasn’t perfect as the data I wanted included SMS, but the ROM doesn’t have an SMS inbox, so kept crashing. Fortunately, it throws out the CSM files of the data before the crash, so I was able to get the data (call logs, messages, tasks etc) all out.
All’s well that ends well, and if anyone else has the same issue, this is another little internet breadcrumb of how to do this.
Cheers
