Files in SD card got corrupted

I'm using a 512MB Transcend SD card for a year already and this is the first time I encountered such problem. It suddenly got its files corrupted, names are in symbols like boxes and some files claim to have 1GB of filesize. I can't remember what I did before it happened but im sure everything i was doing then is the usual thing. I didn't even remove it from my XDA. Is there any way to recover them? if none, is there any way to prevent it from occuring in the future? Please help

There is a way to recover them. Get your card into the card reader and start your undelete program (i have a great program if you want).
Seems you have Spb Pocket Plus and you have the storage card indicator active! This indicator seems to cause SD card erasings as many people (including me) tried removing the SD indicator & having no more SD wiping
If thats not true, then try to lock your SD card (the read only switch).

i didn't install Spb Pocket Plus though. And i tried locking the SD card, still the same, filenames are unreadable, just boxes and lines

Sometimes Pocket Hack Master can restore the files as well.

ravelcop, even if you've formatted the SD card, you can still recover the files (the format process does NOT erase the existing data, it just deletes the 1st sector of the media)
Try EasyRecovery Pro (from the link I've sent to you).

I hope we could find out what are the causes of this problem so as to prevent it from occuring in the future. Spb Pocket Plus autodetection feature could be one, and it must have other causes as well since i didn't have that software in my XDA

The problem of SD card erasing is cause by having two or more processes accessing the SD card all at the same time. This will cause trouble to the SD card system driver, and hence, will crash your SD!
Thats why Pocket Plus can cause this problem; since the SD card indicator checks the free space of the SD card every X interval, which could occur while having another process accessing the same SD card. :roll:

how to view
I had a sd card that was corrupt as well and I downloaded the file and it said it recovered 64 files. It said your files were recovered successfully. I saved the files in the directory and I can see them there but I can not view them to change them back to a jpeg file. Can someone help?

Downloading big files

Hello Guys.
Maybe someone of you can give me a helpful hint.
I´m running a Magician device, but i think it´s not important which device is used. With the device I´m using a sandisk Wifi card with 256 MB Storage integrated.
The last days i tried to download a file with approx. 30 MB. SD-Card with Wifi was complete clean, but the Memory of the device just have about 24 MB free. For downloading I used the integrated IE in the WM2003SE. The download should be saved on the storage card, but the download failed because of not having enough free space. So I think the device first downloads the file as temporay file on the System memory and then copies it ro the SD card.
So, how can I change this to be able to download files directly to the SD card?

Changing rom partition size

I have installed on my mda ii wm2005. There is in RAM: STORAGE - 14.54 MB, PROGRAM 61.29MB, RAMDISK (seen by system as on of Storage Card's) - 47.96MB.
And now i have question. Is there any way to resize this without uploading new ROM? I have many applicatios installed and don't want to install them again. But I have problem, becouse the STORAGE where is Widows directory is almost full and i can't install almost everything. And there are no files that i can delate from storage.

This is the question that some guy asked back in 2006. bun none answered. I have the same problem this days with my HD2 on win 6.5 with 8GB SD card,but only 46MB free integrated memory. I was try to download 80MB file from internet, but it was impossible because both opera and IE making temp file in main memory, and after successful download it was been removed to SD card and cleared from main memory. How to avoid making that temp file and allow download some file bigger then the free main memory? Can anyone help?

Hi guys, i have an htc hd2, and i ve going back from wp 7 to android jb, i have 8gb sd card, now i have only 200mb space, but its not 200 mb particion and unused other space, but it shows 200 mb as unused space, i ve got wp 7.8 earlier, and i have this problem, but then i have a 200mb particion and 7.5gb as unused, so i delete partitions and created one normal (8gb) but now it shows only 200mb as unused, and nothing more...if i tried create a partition, i ve create only 200mb... i tried also searching for lost partitions, but nothing helps....
so, can you help me? any ideas?

Back up the sd card onto your computer. Then format it (this will delete everything on it so be sure to get a good backup on your pc!)
Afterwards you basically will have a new SD card to play with, you can now re-dowload what you want on it from your back up.

i formated it, but you talk about normal situation after installing wp, i formated it but it shows only 200mb as unused space, when i create a parition it shows i can create only 200mb, nothing more...
