MDAII/XDAII cf-tv-adaptercard - MDA II, XDA II, 2060 Accessories

Hi,
I´d like to look tv on my MDAII.
I´ve been told, there are CF-CARD-TV-adapters available.
Has anyone experiences on this topic?
Where can I buy those adapters?
Do they fit (and work) in the databack-cf-slot?
Thanks in advance!
rahel1

googled this for you
http://www.eopstech.com/eops/index.html
and using this search if you want more options
http://www.google.dk/search?hl=da&ie=UTF-8&q=CF+TV&btnG=Søg

Thanks a lot.
That helped!
Ciao,
rahel1

Be careful!
To cusa of the shape of the CF Slot of the BackPack many peripheral do not enter/fit (like Haicom GPS CF 203, etc).
It assures to you that it has been tested on one XDA II or MDA II BackPack.
Ciao, from a hot Italy!

cf-tv-adapter in backpack MDAII
[Thanks Gibbo,
Do you know anyone who´s got an cf-tv-adapter in use with MDAII? Or do you know that it will not fit in the slot.
Ciao

O2 XDA II PDA + GPS

I am thinking of buying a O2 XDA II PDA, I notice there is a problem with Bluetooth gps units, can anyone tell me if there is a problem with cable gps units?? If not can you recomend which gps unit to buy?
Cheers
Nick
read that tomtom2 bluetooth dont work they are making an software upgrade so it does these days
here tomtom2 is officialy an accessories for qtek
so i asume that the wire version is ok working and it's quality is high enough since qtek does that
is the xda 1 connector the same as the XDA II, connector ??
I have the TomTom Navigator II and the XDA (1) car kit. Can any one please confirm if the old cable will fit the new XDA II ?
Second quick question...How the hell do you get the TomTom software working with the XDA II, is it just the case of installing it or do I need to change comm ports, turn stuff off etc etc???
Thanks
Yes the original XDA-Navigator works with the same cable GPS on the XDA2.
The only problem I found is that it could not read the map with a Sandisk 256mb SD card.
I tried it with a Lexar 128mb SD card and it works fine.
The TomTom FAQ site says that some Ipaq's had this problem, it was later sorted by Compaq.

On the XDA 1, you had to make sure that beams were turned off in settings/connections otherwise Com 1 wasnt available to Tomtom and would not work, giving error message "com 1 not available"

What About an SD CARD GPS ?!?

Hi guys,
any news on this side?
(I hope this is not a redundant topic... I've looked for in the topics' list, and seemed to me was missing)
I don´t know any sd-slot based gps-module.
Why you don´t use a serial connected gps?
If you want to use it in a car you need an gps near the windows or outside the car for a good satellite connection
regards
AleX
Hi Alex-Zero,
thank you for answering my question.
I'm actually looking for a more portable device, because I need to use it meanwhile I'm walking in the street.
That's why I'd prefer a "single" object, like a mobile phone with a slot in gps, and not a mobile phone wired to a periferal...

Did you finally obtain a Pharos’ Pocket GPS Navigator SDIO and did it work ok with the XDA II. I am thinking of getting one and it would be good to know someone who has bought one and is pleased with it. Steve
Hi,
I'm sorry I didn't buy it yet. I sent to them an email, asking for information, regarding specifically the XDA II, but they didn't reply !!!
I will keep in touch if something would arise on this matter... will you?

If I buy one I will let you know if it works ok. At the moment I am undecided between Bluetooth GPS and the SD GPS. SD GPS will leave me with no memory expansion and Bluetooth is possibly still a problem although I believe that Towas has a patch that makes it work ok. If anyone is using Tom Tom Navigator 2 Bluetooth aith the XDA II and got it working OK, I would love to hear from them. Does anyone know if using a Bluetooth GPS will still allow use of a Bluetooth Handsfree Car Kit like the Parrot CK3000, at the same time i.e. using 2 Bluietooth devices witn the XDA II simultaneously?
Best regards Steve

tom tom on xda1 and xda2

Hi
Never used this tom tom stuff myself. But a friend wants to use it, and he was asking whether it worked fine on the xda 1 (32mb ram) device? With the appropriate SD card, did the software perform acceptably??
Good to hear from those who upgraded to xda II. How much difference is there between running on xda1 and xdaII?
XDA1 & 2 Both work the same (though the screen is better on xda2).
I've had TomTom Navigator on my original XDA and now my XDA2 since it came out.
The Navigator 2 software is superb. I drive 30k a year and I could not be without it now.
thanks.
My friend already ordered the dell axim with tomtom bundle. The whole lot for 400, not bad!. He doesnt need a phone.
Just want to check. If he were to lend me his software.. ... what would i need to make the lot work in the car? I believe i need a GPS device, that would allow me to connect to the xda, and to provide power to both?
The software has to be activated by tomtom while your ppc is connected to your pc via the web. one install only.
Let me know if you find a way around it.
If you can all you need is a gps (ebay).

MDA III good news!

I got my MDAIII and is good to know that some MDA II accessories are still working with MDA III.
I've jest tried the USB cable, the serial GPS antenna, car charger, keyboard.
But... the connector has a little difference, there's a ''step'' on it that should not let you connect the XDA/MDA II accessories.
Jest try to candidly push it and XDA/MDA II accessories will fit!
Also there is the possibility to deform the piece of metal that makes the steps, but it doesn't worth, I think.
About OS and software, I've jest tried ExtendedRomUnlocker, and is not working properly, it let you see Extended Rom but not to unlock it.
Now I'm going to extract the ROM, Ext.Rom and Radio.
More MDA III experience to follow,
Ciao.
MDA III

Congratulations dear... That's good news and usefull update, do you think the BackPack can fit in the mda3?
Please share with us your experience of the new device, and what are the real new extra features in it, as well as in the Windows 2003 SE, does it really have extra pre-loaded software (like the fax and GPRS monitor)?
a request...
good for you, i hope youre wiliing to spread good cheer, BY.... hehehehe.
would it be too much to ask if you could POST here your radio, extended and OS ROMS, so that the gurus here could modify it for XDA 2 users perhaps.
Thanks a lot if you will.

I have put every thing here (ROM, Radio, Ext.Rom):
ftp://forum.xda-developers.com/BlueAngel/MDAIII
For ROM I've used "d2s"
for Radio "d2s 60000000 00300000"
for Ext.Rom d2s "70080000 01000000"
and every thing has been read to PC with NTRW.
PS. Bootloader mode: hold power + record and press reset.
Bootloader command seem to be the same ones of the Himalaya.
It would be pretty if someone succeeded to make usable the Rom WM 2003 Qtek 9090 for the GER_MDA III, or/and to convert the sd-image to an nbf file.
Ciao.

hw6515

I think it would be great for the experienced members of this board to start taking a look at the hw6515. It is after all made by HTC. There is so much crap on mine, and I wuld love to take mst of i off. So anyone who knows what they're doing...help! P.S. I think Imay have extracted the rom but when I try to open it with the rom editor the passwords won't work, and I have tried several others. p.s.s i also unlocked ipaq file store and ipaq rom using the Harrier_EXTrom.Unlock.exe found on this site, however there is next to nothing in it.
Okay I just used DumpROM and extracted all the files in my ROM, I am completely new to this so what would be the next step?
I have upgraded to HW6515 from mini too, was able to install CallerID for HW6515.
Hope this website will support HW6515 too.
Yes me too i have now got a HW6515
And is very very good
I do hope that support will be on this website
Can any of you guys post the BT Cab file here so that we can try it out on the XDA's ? Apparently, the HP6515 BT stack supports BT voice dial and is very stable with clear audio without any static.
Would be highly appreciated.
if you tell me how to getit of the device i will do it for you
as for the voice dial its very good ihave just had in a few southwing headsets and they work very well £11.99 in P & P from ebay
