Hi,
As title really.....but in particular the contents of:
\Documents and Settings\...
\Windows\Profiles\guest\...
If I could delete files in these directories I could gain around 2-2.3 MB
The files are all related to IE but clearing cache etc doesnt reduced the size of the files contained within those directories.
Any help appreciated (BTW: My device is the M5000)

Hi!
I want to rename the SMS-Folders on WIndows Mobile 6. (e.g. "Sent Items" to "Gesendete Objekte" - its the german translation).
The Problem ist that the software i'll use to count the messages will only find items in the renamed(german) folders.

Guys - I am new to this, so please be patient!
I have a problem with a load of corrupt file names in my IE temporary files folder. I have no way to delete them - going through PIE's 'Memory' option does not work, Total Commander cannot delete them, I even tried with a DOS command line utility.
The problem seems to be that the OS is unable to delete the files because the files have invalid characters in their name. I have tried moving / renaming them, but again it dont work!
The files also have peculiar dates (eg 01/03/1601), and appaerently huge sizes (3GB!).
Is there any other way I can delete them?
Any suggestions to fix this would be much appreciated.
Thanks
I have noticed that the following files have appeared in the root of my device and are marked as system files.
Does anyone know what they are, and why they have appeared so suddenly?
mxip_initdb.vol 52k
mxip_lang.vol 28k
mxip_system.vol 152k
cemail.vol 204k
mxip_swmgmt.vol 132k
mxip_notify.vol 136k
I do not use SMS or Text messaging.
Any help would be gratiously appreciated.
Hi,
I have a Motorola A1000 that has definitely failed.
Before it had broken, I had downloaded the phonebook with all my contact numbers.
I wish to retrieve the phone numbers, but it is a binary file that cannot be read by any normal editor (ASCII editor, winword, excel).
I can see the numbers and the names of the contacts, but they're mixed in an unreadable mess.
The file is a file named 297.dat. It is one of many .dat files that I downloaded from the A1000.
It is impossible to read it with the cable SW that I used to manage the phone. The programs rejects any operation if the phone is not connected, and refuses to read the backup copy of the phone files.
Can somebody help me?
I desperatly need to retrieve my phonebook numbers.
Best regards
Alberto
Have you tried using a hex editor to manually pull the numbers and enter them into a new phone or just a text file? If you could post the file someone here might be able to help you if you can't on your own.
Here is the file
Hi,
I have opened it with ultraedit, but I cannot understand the rule by which the number and the names are associated between them.
I attach the (zipped) binary file. If somebody wishes to exercise his skill in decoding and decrypting, I'll be very grateful!!
