Problem: Bluetooth headset disconnects after 1 minute - MDA II, XDA II, 2060 Accessories

Hi
I have the M1000 (see my profile)
I use it with the Plantronics M3000 bluetooth headset, but after one (1) minute the headset is automatically disconnected, while the call is still connected to my M1000.
Any one knows what setting I need to change to keep it connected????

Hey m8,
Try this one:
http://bluetooth.i-networx.de/index_e.html
Maybe that will help ya....

panja thnx for the tip
but...
I installled it and now I am running into problems:
according to the online manual
The two battery icons on the right side let you switch between two profiles for auto power off of the PDA and the back light. For example you may switch to the second mode and adjust the settings to "always on" and "never switch back light off". Thereby you can switch the PDA with one simple to "always on" when you are in your car and want to use GPS navigation.
Click to collapse
but How do I get into the settings?? I can click or tap the icon longer, nothing happens?
I searched in the programs folder, in the settings folder, but can not find any icon referring to this tool????
2nd problem is that after removing the original bt profile I recreated the bond again, as advised in the manual. I got the new additional screen, but now I can not connect to my headset!!!!
anyone out there to help me??

one part of the problem solved
after some trial and error (and a soft restart, which was not adviced by the installing instructions) the headset work fine now
only question remains, how can I change the settings of the 2 battery icons in the today plugin

HI,
You don't need to change any setup options... Only select wich mode (1 or 2) you want to change and... do what you want ! I mean you only need to ajust - for example - backlight level and it will be kept in this mode !!!
Really cool, isn't it !?

[Hack] FULLY disable automatic screen rotation

I've come to notice that no one REALLY knew how to fully disable screen rotation on WM devices.
Some offered 3rd party apps to get the job done, some only knew how to disable automatic rotation, but when the device went into standby and woke up again - the screen rotated back. So that didnt really work.
So if you're as desperate as i was about screen rotation,
this is what you need to do:
1. Get dotfred's free taskmanager HERE, and run it.
2. Go to "Devices" tab, and look for "MIS1:" device (oem_misc.dll)
3. Long-Tap on it, and tap on "Stop"
4. Long-Tap on it again, and now choose "Set Manual"
EDIT: This should be enough. try flipping your screen/sliding your keyboard and see if the screen changes orientation.
Now put your device on standby, and turn it on again. If orientation stays the same - you're done. If not - try steps 5-7, although they seem to be irrelevant.
5. Go to "Notifications" tab, and look for "Notifications\NamedEvents\VCPowerWakeupEvent"
6. Tap on it to make it selected
7. Disable it
(In dotfred's taskmanager, there should be a button for disabling it, but for some reason some devices couldn't see the button icons, although the buttons are still clickable. Under the notifications list there is an empty light-blue line - the buttons are there, eventough you can't see them.
The disable buttons is somewhere i the middle of that light-blue line, just tap the center until a message box popps up and asks if you'd like to disable this notification - Tap on yes.)All those steps are a one time deal - they stick even after an SR.
This has been tested on htc universal and works great.
The screen will keep its orientation even if you flip your screen, take out your built in keyboard, or turn the device off and back on.
The only time your screen will revert back to the original orientation is when you soft reset your device.
Hope this helps
So now, if you need something to help you rotate your screen on demand, you could use this small app that i've made.
its called ScreenRotate.exe (naturally), and you use it like this:
usage: ScreenRotate.exe <command line argument>
0 : Rotete to angle 0
90 : Rotete to angle 90
180 : Rotete to angle 180
270 : Rotete to angle 270
CW : Rotate clockwise
CCW : Rotate counter-clockwise
MIRROR : Mirror the current angle
If nothing will be specified at command line, nothing will happen.
.NET CF 2 is needed.
I really recommend using it along with FTouchFlo.
This way, to rotate the screen manually, you just need to drag your finger the way you want the screen to be shown, from top to bottom.
I find it quite comfortable while driving...
Those are the changes you'd need to change in FTouchFlo to make it work with ScreenRotate:
DownUpApp:\Program Files\FTouchFlo\ScreenRotate.exe
DownUpAppCmdLine:mirror
LeftRightApp:\Program Files\FTouchFlo\ScreenRotate.exe
LeftRightAppCmdLine:cw
RightLeftApp:\Program Files\FTouchFlo\ScreenRotate.exe
RightLeftAppCmdLine:ccw
Thank you so much... I have been looking for this for sooo long.
This is the perfec way to make it stick in either Portrait / Landscape.
There have been many users such as myself who have wanted our devices to stay in landscape and this is the perfect hack.
Thanks again... Cheers
BTW -> Tested and works on my Hermes
Just added it to the Hermes Wiki (Can be found under regisrty tweaks although it's not a reg tweak)
happy to hear that!
you're welcome mate.
I have a tytn hermes with satin black and in the notifications tab there isn't any notification named "Notifications\NamedEvents\VCPowerWakeupEvent". I have searched in the notifications tab in task manager and also in the notification queue in memaid. So when i soft reset the device everything goes back where it was (auto rotate screen). Any help? Thank's
EDIT: It is working perfectly even without this notification. I just tested it. So everything OK! ThanX again

actually, you're right.
i guess the notification has nothing to do with it,
i don't remember what made me think it does.
i'll edit the hack accordingly.

Unfortunatelly I have found 2 bugs. I have a tytn hermes with black satin medium installed. The first bug is that with mis1 unloaded the device can not connect with the pc anymore. When I plug the device it is just being charged but active sync won't open at all. The second bug is that I can not load mis1 again. No matter what I have tried the device mis1 won't be loaded again if I had unloaded it. Any ideas?
Ok i found a way to reload this specific device (mis1).
1. Run taskmanager.
2. Go to "Devices" tab, and look for "MIS1:" device (oem_misc.dll) (it is unloaded if you have done everything described on the 1st post)
3. Long-Tap on it, and choose "Set Manual"
4. Long-Tap on it again, and choose "Set Automatic"
5. Soft reset your device

Just solved!
The ActiveSync troubleshooter (menu: Help/Troubleshooter for ActiveSync) offered to clear the "Enable advanced network functionality" check box. While trying to do that, an error message "Failed to disable RNDIS ..." was popping up every time. As per this suggestion, I removed virtual COM ports from Bluetooth settings and then it was possible to clear that check box.
Immediately thereafter ActiveSync woke up on the PC and offered to create a new partnership (because I deleted everything in frustration earlier). No problems for half a hour.
Then I left the administrator account and logged on as the usual limited user. ActiveSync again was unable to connect until the advanced functionality check box was restored. Does it seem that those both accounts will require different settings? Dunno, I haven't checked yet.
On my Wizard, with the TNT Rom (August 08), I don't see the device MIS1, and I don't see the event in the TaskManager.
Any ideas how to disable screen rotation, when I slide the keyboard?
Thanks in advance
Sprint HTC Touch Pro ROM 1.03.651.4
The MIS1 solution did not work for my phone (Sprint HTC Touch Pro ROM 1.03.651.4), but I found that this does:'
HKLM\System\GDI\Rotation\CamAppActive = 1
Presumably the device thinks the camera is active and thus doesn't rotate the display.
Obviously this will return to 0 after soft reset, so I used TaskMgr 2.9 to export the entry, then added a startup shortcut to import this entry with the /silent flag.
UPDATE: This fix interferes with data entry in Opera. When I try to type into a google search box, I get one character, the box looses focus, and I gotta tap on it again to type any more. Severely annoying. Goes back to normal when I change CamAppActive back to 0, and close and reopen the keyboard. I may make an exe to toggle or just make two reg import shortcuts.
Way cool!
Works for me too on a Kaiser, with old Dutty ROM.
How in the world did you figure it out? Look at that key?
Thanks, Jeff
It made perfect sense, but admittedly I tried changing everything under "Rotation" before I tried that one.
Item #21 on this list clued me into that area of the registry:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=398265
El Zilcho.
Bupkis. I've been knocking my brains out trying to disable autorotation, but still have manual enabled. (I've got some apps that play nice only in landscape, and some only like portrait. Also, I'd like to be able to slide my keyboard out really quick-like to enter some quick text, then slide it back w/o messing with screen orientation.) I tried the MIS1 disable, but no-go for me. Also tried messing with the Rotation entries, specifically the SlideKey key, but apparently that value is volatile and changes with each slide. Oh well! Unless there's a way to lock the SlideKey value so it can't be changed, that'd fix my issue. Hmm.
EDIT: Forgot to mention. I've got the Tilt (8900 I guess?) with vanilla OEM 6.1 ROM, modded only for no-bloat. (Did the old battery trick after reset/reinstall to prevent bloatware.)
EDIT: After I typed this up, figured I'd try using Settings>Screen (or somesuch) to just fix perspective. Still auto-rotates. KaiserTweak and Advanced Config can't get it to stick on one or the either, either. Editing registry turns up same results. Settings right now say it's fixed at 0 degrees but it still autorotates.
Late-breaking edit, 14-JUN-10: Got rid of it a few months ago anyways, moved to a Rhodium. No D-pad, so no more worries about those games that didn't like rotation, as they needed the D-pad to work anyways, and the TP2 doesn't have one.
Doesn't work on touch pro 2
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=5928161#post5928161
That's what I resorted to!
Wow
Wow, pretty hard core fix! On the Sprint Touch Pro 2 Stock 6.1 my reg entry above only works to prevent rotation when the keyboard is slid out, it will not help with the autorotation provided by the sensor. I however put together some .reg files, with my perceived essential fixes including disabling sensor rotation:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=651166
So, following post 'step by step' didn't change anything with my screen rotation settings. still automatically rotates all the time when I don't want it too...really frustrating. This is about the 4th hack I've tried with no success. Does anyone know what the proper solution is for the HTC Rhodium? I'm running stock AT&T Tilt 2 Rom WM 6.5.
I know there are programs you can install to take over rotation control...I'm just looking for a reg change or service hack or something to stop auto rotate from ever happening.
Thanks to anyone who knows the answer!!

Reg Edit: Turn off Vibrate when call connected

hkey_Software/HTC/phone/phoneextendedsetting
Go to connecting vibrate and change the value to 0.
After I changed it I didnt like it since the phone backlight shuts off you dont know when the call is connected.
I noticed a Enter Suspend in audio manager in the machine hkey but it did nothing when I changed its value.
NOTE: I AM NEW TO THIS ITS MY FIRST DISCOVERY SO PLEASE DO NOT KILL ME IF I POSTED THIS WRONG. I DID NOTICE IN THE DIAMOND THREADS THAT THE HACK THAT WORKED FOR THE DIAMOND DIDNT WORK FOR THE PRO. THIS ONE DOES WORK.
You don't have a setting for that? I do have the AT&T version, but I figured all of them did...
Settings/All Settings/Personal/Phone/Advanced
There's a checkbox saying "Vibrate device when connection is established."
I don´t see the "Advanced" option.... any solution?

How to A2DP Switch for bluetooth stereo headset - SOLVED POST 6

Hi Guys,
Apols if this has been answered before, but i have searched
I use Sony bluetooth stereo headset for my music. But to get them to connect every time i have to do lots of clicks : start/settings/connections/bluetooth then right click on the headset and click set as wireless stereo.
This is a major pain in the butt but i lurv the headphones
Is there any way to make a shortcut to the bluetooth section and i can then place this short cut on launcher of HTC home, it would save alot of clicks!!
I have tried to create a shortcut, but the settings/connections/bluetooth is not visible in file explorer, (yes show all files is switched on)
It would be IDEAL if possible to create a small program that i can then install that would do all of the above steps, then i could simply click the program on the laucher and hey presto my head phones connect I am not conversant in programming on WM..... yet, so would really appreciate help and willing to donate
Try this one
Ha Ha thanks, but that only takes me to the comm manager and only sensibly cuts me one click. Was looking really for something more, but thanks for the reply
Hey buddy try this!!! I'm not sure what you are using as an app that will create a button for you but this should do it for you . I think!!!!
I made a shortcut to bluetooth.
To do it create a file called bluetooth.lnk and put the following line of code in it:
23#ctlpnl cplmain.cpl,23,1?\Windows\AppButtons\bluetooth.gif
I think it is best to put this shortcut into the programs directory in windows and then you can choose it from the dropdown lists.
But better than that is to use A2DPToggle. Which makes it one press only to enable bluetooth and one press to sync headset or unsync headset on the Today screen. Killer app if you have bluetooth headset.

Fantastic, thanks for the advice, the A2DPToggle is exactly what i need. I had found a way to use battery status as it has a2dp toggle on there, but it uses a tray icon which takes up too much today screen, hence the reason for putting it on launcher tab on HTC home.
I downloaded A2DPToggle and now have a toggle switch on my HTC home launcher tab so the pluggin on the today screen is not needed
Here is the link for anyone else : http://www.teksoftco.com/index.php?section=freeware
Also attached is a small cab file which switches a2dp off and on, meaning you dont need to have the plugin on the today screen as it provides a switch that is placed on the start menu and which can be placed on the HTC home launcher, many thanks to JKingGrim the developer!! Works a treat!!
Thanks for the switcha2dp app. This is exactly what I was looking for. Works like a charm with my Vogue running Manilla 2D!
Any chance of getting an icon for it, so it's not just the plain window icon?
Sony Headphones
With mine all I have to do is press the middle button on the Headphones and it automatically makes them the default sound device?
i still hav to turnb bluetooth on though!
Quick and stupid question - how do I actually go about creating a .lnk file on my Touch Diamond?
Thanks
Ed.

Why don't you use Home Screen ++ ?
It has a tray icon for bluetooth settings (on/off,A2DP,pair,settings)
lol thanks for the reply, but home screen plus is a pain if your running manila and dont want to use a second today screen, your relying on a home plugin. Also home++ doesnt do the job of the a2dp switch.
The switch is very effective in that you can put a shortcut in the program laucher and its direct and effective... give it a try.
I don't know what the issue is, doesn't just pressing the play button on your A2DP headset automatically connect it to your phone?

Bluetooth activated on start up [Solved]

I have Acer Neo Touch (F1), WM 6.5 ,and the bluetooth is activated every time I start/reboot the phone. How to didsable it from activating? If I remove the shortcut from start up folder, I can't use bluetooth at all. I want only activate it manually.
Help
ok, goto reg key :
HKLM\software\OEM\Bluetooth and change "discoverable status to 0" and "discoverable timeout to 1". This will turn off discoverable mode quickly.
Thanks alot, but this did not help, still it is activated.
really? when you goto bluetooth settings/mode, is bluetooth on, and discovery on?
Discovery is off, but bluetooth is on ,so only difference now is, others can not see me. I would like the whole bluetooth be deactivated
Try VJVolubilis with a shortcut in the startup folder to switch it straight off again.
None of those methods worked, so after little play with all installed things I found out bluetooth activation is caused by Windows Sideshow.
Now, under Sideshow settings there is nothing about bluetooth. Maybe some registry setting will help to prevent the bluetooth auto-activation?
Using file explorer, cut the shortcut from \Windows\Startup and paste it in \Windows\Start Menu\Programs
That will stop it running at startup, and give you an icon in the start menu programs list so you can start it manually from there.
Hope that helps.
That what I looked first - the Startup folder shortcut, but there is none.
hey hey hey!!! I solved!
The Today screen plugin was the reason:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Today\Items\SideShow:Enabled ,did set value to 0 and no automatic bluetooth more

[Q] Jelly Bean and popups for GPS and Bluetooth - disable popups?

Since the 4.1.1 Verizon JB update, I've noticed that, even when using the quick pulldown toggles for bluetooth and GPS, I get a pop-up. For GPS, I not get that same annoying "terms of use" type box that I have to "accept" EVERY TIME I turn GPS on. And for Bluetooth, I get some dialog box asking me to select what to connect to and an option to make the phone visible temporarily. Before the OTA update, these things did not pop up when using the quick toggles from the notification pull-down menu.
It's bad enough that I have to go to the GPS screen and click, then click accept, then backout, if I enable GPS from anywhere else including Googles own Maps and Nav apps. But now I have to do it using the built-in shortcut?
Anyone have any idea how to disable this garbage? I'm rooted so I can modify something if I have to.
I'm having this problem too. Strangely one of my coworkers with an s3 doesn't get this and he's done the update too. This little bug is really annoying!
Try the "Never timeout" option
I was searching the internet for the answer to this very same question, and came up with bubkis. But after fooling around with my phone, I at least found an improvement (but not an answer) to the bluetooth dialogue issue.
With bluetooth on, go to settings --> bluetooth --> settings (button) --> Visible time-out --> Never
Then make sure you're only visible to paired devices - for me this changed that setting.
The phone should work like it did before. At least it did for me. If I turn on bluetooth I'll get the dialogue. But when I turn on a bluetooth device that I had previously connected to, it will now auto-connect to my phone, assuming the bluetooth setting is on. (It didn't do this before I changed the settings.) This means that now I can turn on the bluetooth as I'm walking to my car, cancel the dialogue, and when I turn the car on it'll connect properly. Ditto an external speaker in my bedroom.

Luckily I recovered root on my Vzw S3 after the 4.1.1 OTA. I discovered that you can move GPS/BT toggle widgets to /system/app/ and it no longer asks for confirmations. Super fast toggles with no hassle! There's a small app in the Play store called "/system/app mover" to do it.

I'd like to know what are these files named exactly and how do you know you're moving the right files?
I have that annoying pop up on my Samsung Galaxy Note 3 every time I turn on my bluetooth and I'm looking for the slightest relief of this problem because it's annoying to have to cancel it every single time.
