grey horizontal lines on screen - General Topics

I noticed after a few days of using it that in many programs (tasks, contacts, calendar, & others, but not ALL programs), the screen is marked by gray horizontal lines or bars which fade out towards the left side of the screen. I wondered if it may be a problem in the screen protectors I use (Belkin), but the fact that the lines do not appear on the screen in certain programs seems to negate that possibility. Is anyone familiar with this?

Those lines are part of the theme that you are using. If you're using an old PPC2002 theme rather than WM2003 theme, sometimes the colour of the lines is too dark which makes it really hard so see what's on screen. Try changing the theme back to the default WM2003 one

not good
I have 2 options for the TODAY setting in personal settings - "spiral" or "windows default." I get the same lines with both options. They are more a light blue color when I choose the Windows default Today setting. What can I do? Those lines look like crud, to be frank, and a very faulty design.

Maybe you can dowload an other theme at www.pocketthemes.com and see what you can do
Good Luck
PS: Or make your own theme!!!

all the same
Sorry to say, I have tried various themes, including very light color and pastel - I still get the light blue lines going across the CALENDAR, TASKS, etc. I hope someone has a fix for this. Does it happen on everyone's PDA who use PPC 20003?

Red / Green Unlock Slider

Well this is my first ever cab to change anything on the HD2.
Of course it is the simplest thing. All it does is change the slider
on the Lock screen.
The slider is Red w/a closed padlock when locked
and turns green w/an open padlock when you tap and slide it accross.
I've attatched screenshots.
I'm clearly a noob and am just enjoying adding a little colour to the
phone.
Hope someone likes it
oh and i found that you have to do a soft reset for the changes to appear.
I've now updated the slider so the colour change also takes place when the slider displays a number of SMS / Email messages waiting.
nice job
Thanks for the support. I've just updated it too, as I'd realised that when a message was waiting, the old slider was appearing.
Nice touch!!
Great job!
Good Job
Any Chance of toning down the colors abit to much...
well done
Thank you
That is great and thank u so much for adding color to our poor black and white life / screens of HTC.
Can u also add some color to to the, black & white, "fast list screen"?
The screen in which u have the options of: Turn off / Lock device / Define vibration..... - the screen that appears before the lock screen?
as requested here is a verison with a more muted colour palette.
the file is: red slider 2
there is also a new file called very berry slider
which also adds berry colours to the SMS and Email sliders on the lock screen.
dark blue/purple up state and dark raspberry down state.
you'll see, files and images below.
the colours look a bit brighter on my computer screen than they do on my phone. fyi.
Nice work my friend, nice little touch, keep up the good work
hey, thanks op. adds some nice colour to the screen. cheers bud.......
edit: any chance of a cab using the berry colours but in the bright version, like the first red one you did, the bright one looks better

Studying Android's back button

Hi android users,
I'm just showing you a small "bug" found in android jellybean's BACK button in the navbar on the bottom left.
As you can clearly see in the attached images, i've zoomed in to the screen's picture 24 times to clearly see that there's is a fault in the color of the back button. There are two (almost) black dots at the point where the arrow meets its body.
Furthermore, those two black dots aren't the same color: top has a HEX of #858585 while bottom has a HEX of #8c8c8c. And as you can see in the zoomed in images, actually alot of grey looking pixels making the shape of the arrow don't have the same color, but that's not a big deal.
EDIT: I've switched my navbar theme to blue (android's "Cyan") and took pictures too, see the new attachements... apparently, those two pixels still appear even if i changed the theme. This is very weird, and makes me think that android just puts those two dots on top of the color you put. or am i wrong?
So guys, don't be afraid that your phone has dead pixels at the bottom left... it's just a design bug.
Thanks for the info bro!

grey lines at top of the screen with pure black wallpaper

So recently i started to notice that in my home screen (touchwiz or other launchers) at the top of the screen there is some grey lines it is best visible if i use a black wallpaper and set the brightness to the maximum. This doesn't show anywhere except on the home screen. I tried other wallpapers, and if i look at it in the gallery or turn on ultra power saving mode there is no grey lines.(my device is galaxy s6)
Does anyone know what it is? Or how to fix it?
(i hope you guys can understand me sry for my english)
So, if you switch to your pictures and images gallery, the lines disappear?
Did you drop your device on the floor or did it incurred any damages lately?

It's a common issue. It's stupid Touchwiz/Samsung system which creates a small overlay at the top of Homescreens (any launchers) & lockscreens. In gallery etc, it's perfectly black since no overlay.
I don't think there is a fix. U can use a slightly greyish instead of full black wallpaper. It's not a big problem though
Oh i understand. Thank you for help. I was thought my phone has a problem.
Sometimes the grey lines can appear in Samsung mobiles if you use a bad launcher or a theme which is not compatible with the phone. You can try updating to a new version and see if fixes the problem, or use a light gray wallpaper as already suggested. Another couple of things to try... take a screenshot of your phone and test it on your laptop to see if the lines are still there. If not then it could be a problem with the screen itself. It's also worth restarting your phone in Safe Mode as this mode only runs with pre-installed apps. If you don't see the lines then an app could be your culprit

Oneplus launcher with google feed?

I have asked in the original thread how to fix this issue since December but no one has replied. Does anyone know how to fix this issue with the modified launcher? The white Halo appears after a reboot. It goes away once you update the launcher and uninstall. The yellow screen in the settings never goes away.
Never seen something like that sorry

I tried to make my screen look like yours and was not able to get it exactly the same...but I wonder if you have a certain combination of conflicting settings going on here? When you go to settings > system > Accessibility... there are two settings in here called Color correction, and Color inversion. Using these with a light, or dark theme and having night mode with a manual screen color calibration under the display settings could render your screen yellow. Is it only the settings screen that is that yellow or is there any other "white" screens that look yellow? Also, the highlight color can be changed to whatever you want which would make the lettering red as it is on your settings screen. So, my suggestion would be to go through all these various settings to see if somehow things got all screwed up. YMMV

Weird darker bar and navigation buttons appearing over other apps

Recently I've noticed that a dark low opacity stripe has appeared on my phone, from the top to about a quarter of the top of the phone, it is constantly there, although it is a lot easier to see on darker backgrounds, and alongside it there are transparent navigation buttons on the same spot they normally are. I've already done the usual reboot, changed launchers and all that, anyone else having this problem or know how to fix it? Can't really post a picture of it since screenshotting doesn't actually show the dark areas
