Hi,
Could someone tell me if I could simply put a T-Mobile sim with web and walk tarrif into the trinity or any other non T-Mobile 3g phone and still get free internet access and msn messenger. Or do I specifically have to use their phones with their own version of browsers and messenger.
Need to know this before deciding which network and phone to go for.
Thanks
I have the same question
I have a SPV-M3100, but I don't know how to get connection settings for
T-Mobile Web n Walk service.
I have searched the forum, but no clear result.
Thank you first if anyone can have an idea.
here in the Netherlands you could do that. You should be able to get a sim-only with w&w and put that sim in any unlocked phone. This is not a logical choice here in the Netherlands since we get great deals when combined with a T-mobile branded phone. T-mobile the Netherlands is promoting some nokia phones as well...(N73)
Shouldn't be a problem - I've used my WnW SIM in several WM 3G and non 3G phones. Just set the apn / usrname / password to
GPRS APN address: general.t-mobile.uk
Username : user
Password: wap
and left everything else at default.
Help Needed!
I am currently living in Mazar-E-Sharif (Northern Afghanistan).
I am a current mobile subscriber to EtiSalat. I have activated the GPRS plan and applied the required credit (1000 af) to actually run the service.
I have contacted customer service (888) and the second I mention that I have a HTC G1, they immediately say that they cannot provide support.
Anyways, I told them to activate my GPRS regardless.
Well, 24-hours later, it worked! Like a charm.
About 4-days went by and no problems. Well, as of yesterday, my phone has decided to not even recognize and EDGE network.
So, is there anyone out there that could possibly help me by providing the APN for EtiSalat - Afghanistan?
This is what I got so far:
APN: etisalat.af.wap
Proxy: 10.0.0.172
Port: 80
Thanks in advance.

Need GPRS Settings For ETISALAT Afghanistan
ETISALAT told me to set the APN to etisalat.af.wap
but that so far hasnt worked, does anyone have the full settings? I have a Google Nexus S.
thanks
Dave
Anyone have any luck with this? I'm bought a sim card and am trying to get it to work with my modem, but cannot get the internet portion to work.
Use these settings...
I am in MeS as well.
I unlocked my T-Mobile Samsung Vibrant and these settings worked...but I just got a Galaxy S II from Amazon the other day and of course these settings work for this as well, since it is already unlocked.
Check out this thread on here...these settings work...

Etisalat introduced HSPA+ a few months ago. Truly awesome for this place.
How can it be awesome? The APN settings are keep secret for some reason. I paid for SIM, and data plan. The APN settings they gave me dont work, and their customer service (888) is nothing but a bunch of push 2, push 4 recordings.

Name: web
APN: Etisalat.af.web is all you need.
Thank you for the reply Szadzik. Still isnt working for me. I have tried the following:
I get the Edge symbol with these settings
APN: etisalat.s.wap
proxy: 10.0.0.172
port: 80
MMS Proxy: 10.0.0.172
Port: 80
MCC: 412
MNC: 50
I dont get anything with:
APN: etisalat.af.web
rest default
Im starting to wonder if my Unlocked Samsung Vibrant can handle the freqs Etisalat uses for Data. I am sending text, and making voice calls no problem.
Etisalat-Afghanistan GPRS/APN
I'm at KAIA using an Etisalat SIM that I purchased Jun 2011. Data worked fine the whole summer using the little (overpriced) Samsung BT3410 I had to buy because my old WM5 finally gave up the ghost. Was back home ~1 yr then came back here last month (with the Samsung for local and HTC7 for other stuff). Seems Etisalat changes the settings on a whim and I had a heck of a time trying to find the right info.
So, as of today (2012-11-04), Szadzik's two line response is correct.
-- Set the "Name" to whatever you want (I usu put the APN name).
-- Set the APN ("Access name" on some devices) to "etisalat.af.web".
-- Clear out all the other settings (e.g., Proxy, DNS, UserName, PWD) and save the profile.
Once I did that (and obligatory reboot), all was good, relatively speaking (the phone itself blows so no great loss if it gets eaten by an MRAP).
@lostwhat83 (and anyone else that pulls the settings directly from the AFG Etisalat site), the information posted on the site is wrong!

On a similar topic, anyone know how good the Etisalat signal/speed is at RC-SW? Heading there shortly...

Hello, Im hoping someone could help me.
I live in a rual area in Arizona. We only have one carrier and its Cellular One. From my understanding its totaly
different than the Cellular One on the East Coast.
All the phones they sell are unbranded. Wether its a cheal flip Nokia or the GS3, their unbranded and most are the
International versions.
I like to use unlocked phone's from either tmobile or att. However I always have a problem with data.
Cell One offers 2 different Internet packages, here are the apn's for their data.
Basic Internet-
apn= wap.c1csky.net
proxy= 209.4.229.94
port= 9401
Smart Phone Internet-
apn= isp.cellularoneaz.net
no proxy or port.
MMS-
apn= wap.c1csky.net
mmsc= mmsc.c1neaz.csky.us:6672
proxy= 209.4.229.94
port= 9401
Here is where my problem is. Lets say I enter the basic Internet setting and the MMS settings in the phone. My internet
will work and so will pic msg's. However I cant download anything or i cant login to Facebook. Every site I try works except
Facebook.
Now if I change the apn's to Smart Phone Internet then all data works downloads, facebook etc. But picture msg will not work.
It only happens with unlocked att or tmobile phones. If I use one of their phones its not a problem.
Sorry the post is long... hopefully someone can help me figure it out.

AW: [Q] APN and Data Help
Asked the Hotline to send you a message with the right apn settings? They send a text message that sets all the required inputs. Or add one apn with the mobile Internet details and another one with the mms settings.

Hey guys, I flashed a Verizon ROM to my Chat Mobility HTC One m8, because Chat Mobility uses Verizon for their LTE network, but in the process it deleted my MMS server settings, or rather reset them to Verizon's servers. Everything else seems to work fine though, but does anyone have the server address for Chat Mobility? I've looked all over the web, even tried customer service, but they don't have any idea. As far as I can tell, they get their MMSC through Interop, according a press release from a year ago.

If you can give us a call back we would like to help you get your MMS settings re-established. Dial 611 on your phone and ask for Connie or Macey.

While I appreciate the attempt, I was hoping to restore my MMS settings WITHOUT re-flashing my device.
Bump. Am I really the only one in the country who has a smartphone on Chat Mobility?
I've narrowed down their MMSC server: mms.iot1.com/chatmobility/mms.php
Now I just need the proxy and port and all should be well. Thanks in advance guys!
I just bought a Z3 D6616 off of eBay that was listed as "Unlocked". To me unlocked means that it will work on other networks, so I did not worry that I was going to use the phone on AT&T. I got the phone today and took it down to get a NanoSim for it (my old phone used a MicroSim). The guy at the AT&T set it up and got the sim installed, and the phone can receive calls, but it has no data service at all. I mean none!. I looking through every article I can find online and they all say that the D6166 is locked to T-Mobile and cannot be configured to receive data on the AT&T network.
Is this true? I really like this phone. Is there any hope of fixing this problem? Please!
Check you APN info.
Settings > more > mobile networks > Access point names
Then press the plus sign and enter the details for your carrier. That was how I got mine working.
You mentioned AT&T, I'm going to guess in America and a quick google search gave me these details

APN - phone
Password - Not set
WAP Gateway - proxy.mobile.att.net
WAP Gateway Port - 80
MMSC - http://mmsc.mobile.att.net

Thanks, but I tried that first thing and it did not work. I spent hours on the phone with AT&T and they gave me all the settings over the phone and it did nothing. Do you have the Z3 model D6616 or the D6603? The D6603 can be used with AT&T, but so far I have found no way to get the D6616 to work and nobody else that has either.
I have the international D6616 version with an unlocked bootloader. Changing the apn was what worked for mine. I am connecting to a German provider, so maybe it is an At&t issue.
It's very possible that the area you are in does not have the supported ATT LTE band that is compatible with your phone. Since the D6616 was designed for T-mobile, it will only have Bands 2, 4, and 12. ATT's primary LTE data band is Band 17, and that is not supported by your phone. ATT also supports band 2, 4, and 5 as well, but there is a good chance that those bands are not in your area by ATT
