When can we have an forum dedicated to the HTC Prophet? This phone has been out for a month now and this is probably the time where people would need a forum most.
I will fully support the opening of this section too.

Hee kta
So you bought the Prophet (Dopod 818 pro from expansys?). I'm still waiting to fork out the 500,00+ euro's.
Still happy with my Magician.
Is the Bluetooth headset caller id working on the Prophet? (as it was on my P800 2 years ago)
Still little BUGS.... I read device has to be on...
(I keep the device in my pocket off, I want to here who is calling me before I pick up the phone, P800 could do that 2 years ago...)
That would be a BIG + for me to buy the Prophet.
On the other hand I'm missing GPS and 3G. (DECT would be nice 2)
Still hoping a bit for wm 2005 on my Magician or the Bluetooth caller id
to be hacked out of the wm 2005. Although everyone here say’s it’s a hardware problem.
On topic: YES there should be a HTC Prophet forum. I like to read people’s experiences with the device.
there is a special forum for website related matters. don't forget to post there as well.

I read on Mobile-review:
HTC Prophet is a complete copy (both software and hardware are meant) of HTC Wizard. On the other hand, it's equal to HTC Magician in appearance

So I think that's the reason ad/mod do not want to open a new box for HTC Prophet.

No no no....The Prophet is NOT equal to the Magician in appearance! The Charmer is.
The prophet is a bit like in appearance but certainly not equal.
agree ..
prophet at least had wifi (802.11g)
charmer is really like a copy of magician ...

Re Prophet Forum
Hey all
After a month of enjoyment of my wizard, have just managed to sell it on E-Bay and ordered my Prophet (I-Mate Jamin) of Expansys, as did not find the Keyboard quite as usefull as I thought still could not match CalTech Quick writing as an input system, however nice machine if you like keyboards, just wanted a smaller machine with WiFi and had my doughts about the long term durability of the keyboard & stylus, so come lets get that Prophet Forum going its on releas with expansys on Friday and it is a HTC item unlike the XDA atom, and I think it is going to be very popular amoungst the none keyboarders,
Regards Ash'e
Yes looks the best of the new small wm5 devices. I just hope O2 have it in the UK when my contract is up for renewal. I did email them when I saw O2 Germany was releasing it and, of course, got the pointless reply
> Thank you for contacting O2 Customer Service.

> I am sorry but we do not have the expected release date for the
> O2 XDA Neo or HTC Prophet.
> Please call our Sales team on 08702 257 879 who will help you further.

> Saturday and Sunday from 10:00am to 06:00pm. Calls are charged at

we've got a dedicated HTC Prophet / O2 Atom forum here
Hong Kong-based, but it's all in English... feel free to join us!

OK, I've read the review. I still stand by what I said. Also, so Mobile Review it would seem:
The appearance has not changed much from the HTC Magician's time, it just got rounder. Side edges are not splay as earlier, but slightly project. The body is made of a less smooth, almost dull black material (the front part is of metal, and the back and sides are made of plastic).

It is very similar - but not identical (equal in appearance)
The Charmer is identical.

Shouldnt this now be moved to that forum ;-)

Which group does this fall into? Himalaya, or Magician? It looks like a "Charmer", too
Oh, just found it, it's a Magician
Hi, I've got a sda2 coming (which i think is a tornado). This is my first smartphone as opposed to pda touchscreen phone (replacing spv m700 / trinity). Anyway, I know what my favorite/essential software for the trinity is but not sure about what will be worth installing on the sda. Has anyone got any recommendations for essential software / tweaks? Also while I'm here and before I use the search function ( for which I might get a slap wrist), what car mount / cradle do you guys recommend?
Thanks in advance
Pete
T-Mobile SDA II is an HTC Hurricane (such as Qtek 8200, i-Mate SP4m, Dopod 566 and 586, O2 XDA Phone and Orange SPV C550). Please post to the appropriate forum category.
Thanks for putting me straight. Will post my question in the hurricane section, at least I know now which model the sda2 is.
Thanks again
Sorry (I'm a nOOb) but could someone please clarify something for me...
My last phone was an Orange SPV C600, which I have always been under the impression was the HTC Tornado. In comfirmation, according to the main screen link to this forum the SPV C600 is indeed another name for the Tornado.
However, the picture for the link doesn't match my phone, and according to Wikipedia the SPV C600 was actually the Faraday (Eh?): Orange SPV
BUT sometimes when I switch my phone on I get a multicoloured screen which seems to exactly match that in the link from the step by step upgrade to WM6 thread (including "Tornado"): Kar Hoe's Blog
I know Dopod is owned (or whatever) by HTC, is this just different branding of the same phone and both names are regional?
Have I got something based on the Tornado but is actually a Faraday?
Is the Faraday something totally different and Wikipedia is incorrect?
It's not really important but I'd like to know!

nop the faraday is the same as any other tornado htc phone the faraday name it just a code name for the phone it self
Actually, I believe the Faraday is basically a Tornado without Wi-Fi, and both use Tornado ROMs.
Can anyone confirm I deffo have a Faraday
It deffo doesn't have wifi
SPV C600 = HTC Faraday = HTC Tornado minus WIFI hardware
yep, and the wm6 roms run just perfect on the c600!
At this moment I've a HTC TyTN II (Kaiser) and about a couple weeks I gone buy a new device (I think). I can't make a choice. Can you help me?
I'm doubt between a HTC Touch Pro (Raphael), Samsung i900 Omnia and SE Xperia X1. -click- What do think, or do you have an alternative?
Is the Raphael the continuator of the Kaiser? Or isn't? Is there coming an another device?
Because the price of the Raphael is here in the Netherlands not very much greater then the price of the Kaiser.
Is there news about the HTC Omni? What kind of device would that be?
I know, luxery problem but I don't like mistakes.

Here is what you do. You get The Raphael, and if you don't like it, send it to me.
I would love to get a Raphael personally. So that's my opinion.

Thanx for your opinion, I appreciate that.
This could/should be a discussion threat; I think there are more persons with this "problem".
What do you think: is the Raphael the continuator of the Kaiser? If so, why didn't HTC call the device TyTN III? Or would be the Omni the TyTN III?

To Answer your Question, Yes I think the Touch Pro (Raphael) is the successor to the TyTn II (Kaiser).
Why not call it the TyTN III? Marketing my friend. Because of the iPhone everyone is all about Touching the Screen now. So Putting the word Touch in your name will give you that brand identification and you will sell more products.

Yes I know, but you can also see the Touch devices for the fashion people and the TyTN's as office devices...
