Hi, I've got a sda2 coming (which i think is a tornado). This is my first smartphone as opposed to pda touchscreen phone (replacing spv m700 / trinity). Anyway, I know what my favorite/essential software for the trinity is but not sure about what will be worth installing on the sda. Has anyone got any recommendations for essential software / tweaks? Also while I'm here and before I use the search function ( for which I might get a slap wrist), what car mount / cradle do you guys recommend?
Thanks in advance
Pete
T-Mobile SDA II is an HTC Hurricane (such as Qtek 8200, i-Mate SP4m, Dopod 566 and 586, O2 XDA Phone and Orange SPV C550). Please post to the appropriate forum category.
Thanks for putting me straight. Will post my question in the hurricane section, at least I know now which model the sda2 is.
Thanks again

Hi folks,
I was interested in upgrading to WM5.0 from WM2003 on my SPV M2000 (=XDA 2). However since I've come here i've got the impression that it could be riddled with problems. I'm a total n00b and I've been overwhelmed with different ROM versions and fixes....I wondered if you folks could help me a bit.
Is it worthwhile to upgrade? What has your experience been?
Will old WM2003 programs work on WM5.0 (I have loads of them)
Are there any bugs I should know about or will everything run smooth?
What are the disadvantages?
How do I go about upgrading? I upgraded my ROM once before using an update released by Orange. But the .exe file did it all for me. All I had to do was connect the device via the cradle and click next (pretty much).
Cheers folks! Much appreciated.
PS - is this the correct forum? (I'm guessing SPVM2000 is a hymalaya)
PPS - sorry if some of these questions have come up before. I'm sure a few of them must - I checked as best I could but I'm a total n00b and I'm dyslexic which doesn't make post plodding easy.
Thanks again!

Hey guys,
Im just wondering if anyone knows where i can buy an XDA II Backpack for my phone or if one of you have one they dont use anymore

I think production of back pack is discontinued. It good idea to have it from another
before you get an used one you should know as far as i know they are not compatible with wm5 or wm6 so only buy one if you are sticking with wm2003

Hey guys does know one knows where i can find Qtek 9100 WM6?
i posted more than one Post and didnt get answer
Please
I guess you just have to open your eyes abd READ! It's here everywhere, and even 6.1 popped up a few weeks ago...
i didnt find any
Can you please direct me to the one i want
i did looked and i am nob with PDA
from the XDA Wiki page - the HTC Wizard is sold under the following names...
Sold as HTC P4300
Qtek 9100
Qtek A9100
I-mate K-JAM
T-Mobile MDA Vario
T-Mobile MDA (US)
O2 XDA Mini S
Orange SPV M3000
Cingular 8125
Dopod 838
VPA compact II
So, if your phone ( Qtek 9100 ) is in the list above - then the roms here will work.
So long as you have completed the unlocking process - ensuring you are aware of your phones details ( G3 or G4 model ) etc.
There are some sticky posts at the top of the site that explain in great detail everything required to proceed.
Read them carefully, it is your phone - and your responsibility if anything goes wrong.
Good luck
where is de WM 6 ?
ok, Qtek 9100 is a HTC manufactured phone called 'Wizard' supplied to many vendors/cellular networks all over the world, they sell these phones with their own brands, models and OS,like Qtek,T-mobile,Htc,cingular,i-mate....etc,etc.But the basic device and features are the same and use the same Windows Mobile interface and Rom.
Therefore, all the Roms build for wizards are meant for every brand/model of a 'Wizard' device.Got my point ?
Well,if you are looking for official Qtek 9100 wm6 Rom,then better look in the official website of the carrier of your phone.
All wm6 or wm6.1 roms here are for every brand/model of a wizard. You'll find many excellent wm6 and wm6.1 custom build roms here from many cookers e.g TNT series,Xda Mobile 6,NBD,Jaguar etc etc, they all are cooked for Wizard phones,ok
Cheers!
is the WM6 in Qtek website are free?
is there is any good WM 6 for my device lets me know please
i wanna download and update my device
Frankly, if your phone is fine at the moment and you're such a noob, then I suggest not to upgrade!
WM6 was never officially released for the Wizard, so don't look at the Qtek site, all you'll find is WM5 Roms.
As for a WM6.1 Rom, check either the last one by its right (TNT) or that by Merlin (Slim).
But please READ the Wiki before all!

I can understand that you don't speak the language but I don't understand why you don't read the sticky posts.
I suggest you to leave your device alone before you brick it.
I'll close this thread and don't bother starting a new one.
Read the following sticky if you still want to go through with this : How to flash a new ROM to your Wizard... a little tutorial!
Notice: "Wizard" is your device name(just like the people before me tried to tell you)
This is just an interest of mine to know about how many of the devices are alive and still being used.
Please answer correctly.
The poll is reserved for the users/owners of:
HTC Universal / O2 XDA Exec / Qtek 9000 / SPV M5000 / T-Mobile MDA-Pro / Imate Jasjar / Dopod 900 / SFR v1640 / Vodafone v1640 / Vodafone VPA IV / Grundig GR980 / E-Plus PDA IV.
.
Of course!
Uni is my main device for working and personal
I use it to read txt files, very nice!
No plans to part with mine
even though I use a second mobile now, hehe.
You see, I always wanted something incredibly stylish, like LG Prada, so had a chance to purchase one in a messy state for next to nothing, repair it, bring it to brand new condition and use it... until I got a chance to get LG KU990 Viewty that was run over by a car, possibly more than once, hehe. So now I am torn between Prada and Viewty... and Uni enjoys its very own separate SIM...
The thing is, the only feature Uni lacks is elegance and grace, while both Prada and Viewty lack features (must add that hacking and modifying Viewty proved to be as satisfying as upgrading WM). Although the camera on Viewty is fantastic, I no longer use my regular Canon or Casio cameras at all, so that's another thing Uni lacks. Other than that - it's one amazing machine!
I also run my other toys for a day or so from time to time, just to keep the button and ROM habit - Wizard, Elf and a whole bunch of various others. And look out for new ROMs for my other toys as they come out, of course.

very handy for lawyers...
I still use my Orange SPV M5000, good as new
Very good for the Medical profession as well. You only need to look at the Voting in the Device poll to see how popular they are as well.

Hi Tomal,
meanwhile I use my MDA Pro for about 3 years every day. I use it for :
special studies and research,
telefon,
mp3-player,
video,
PIM
...and a lot more.
Your ROMs are one reason that I did not buy a new ppc up to now.
So, please, proceed in building your brilliant ROMs.
Yesterday I bougth a second htc universal (VPA IV) + 2pcs 64RAM chips in order to try an upgrade to 128MB Ram. I'd like to use your next 6.5 ROM!
So, please go on cooking!
Best Regards,
Thomas

Universal is my all in one for the last 2,5 years.
I can get a new device but only with a 144€ discount. I don't want to pay 400€ more to get the HD, even more because I see no big improvement(taking in accoount the money to spend)
I would like to upgrade the memory to 128, but the only offers till now are 100€ which is expensive...
Cheers
I use it every day -Work and fun-and don´t see any reason to change for a new one.
Jasjar. gr8 processor
My Universal is my second favorite device, right after my precious Athena.
I hope you'll continue cooking your magical ROMS
i use my HTC Universal
I have O2 XDA, and i used to use it a lot.
recently i am using it less at work dut to new camera resrictions on some areas however i still use it a lot, as my phone, e-mails and even as GPS.. i can't go anywhere without it -
I'm using it for 2 years since now. It's my first mobile device!
So please, Tomal, go on cooking!!!
Shuvo nabo barsho!
