I have a LG G8 with T-Mobile (formally was with Sprint) although the phone itself I am pretty sure is a universal unlocked model, and I have trouble using Google Assistant. It never seems to activate when I say "Ok Google", and when that happens, almost always if I try pressing the physical button to bring up the assistant it gives me an error message that the mic is in use. Even when I closed all open apps, I still get that.
Thing is, I almost never see the green dot indicator the mic is in use when this happens. Other times the dot appears randomly for a second or two (usually when watching YouTube videos) and then goes away.
Is there any way to tell what is going on? If my phone is somehow infected or just acting up? Is there any way for me to see what apps have been using the mic? I can't believe it doesn't at least tell you what app it thinks is using the mic, that's about as useful as if every error message in Windows just said "something went wrong".

Hi...I posted this originally in the milestone/droid forum...but after a few google searches, i saw that other people were having this problem on other devices...so i guess it's a glitch with a "hack" of some kind with android in general...so here goes:
I just did a few nice little modifications to my phone...
and ever since i installed apps2sd (it seems to only pop up when i install this...no other mods seem to "screw" the phone up like it)
I get a few messages/areas that don't give the correct messages
these are my main examples:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",

"lightbox_full_screen": "Full screen",
"lightbox_thumbnails": "Thumbnails",
"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
(it says "sound off" instead of notifications)
(says %l-%p instead of God knows what)
(says "sound on" instead of clear)
along with these errors...the "force close" message box is extremely screwed up (i get "application process" and "%l-%p" things everywhere...also, i just saw that "preparing SD card" is actually "select input method")
if anyone knows how i can fix those specific ones, or if there's a general solution to all of it, i'm all ears
thanks for the help
Hi
I promise i have searched anbd searched and i cant find anything similar to the problem im having.
Im now on my second HTC One S and still im having the same issue.
The problem seems to occur in the following situation but sometimes it can happen just randomly.
Connect the phone to Parrot Bluetooth in car.
Play music through audio lead not Bluetooth using Spotify
Start Sygic Navigation or Google Navigation
All of a sudden the screen starts going mad like someone is continually pressing the home button, and it also seems to screenshot it into my pictures gallery
as you can see below.
This behaviour can go on for ages until you press the power button, which seems to calm it down, or maybe it just carries on when yo unlock the phone again.
I used to do the same kind of multi tasking on My HTC Desire no problems, but now its impossible, and very frustrating. Any help would be very much appreciated.
Many Thanks
Chris

Hi, since having my p30 Pro I've noticed some strange little notifications that appear from time to time, they are always a small box that looks a bit greyed out. If I try to go on the live chat on the Huawei hicare app it comes up saying Firefox has been blocked from showing its Dropzone. In other apps I've seen it come up with same looking dialog box saying the app has changed vibration to silent and this can be manually changed back if I want.
How do I stop these notifications? Even though it says Firefox has been blocked the chat still opens in Firefox fine and I know the other app is changing vibration to silent so I don't need it to tell me every time.
I'm not sure if this is specific to Huawei phone or if it's a general android notification, I had android pie in my old Samsung s8 and never seen them.
If there's a way to turn this off would be great if anyone can help? Regards
James
Anyone please?
Anyone?
This is the kinda message i mean in this picture, how do i stop them notifications?

make sure you know the device's name. you can do this by going to youtube and clicking the cast button, then check the name. if you still have issues, try installing google home and connecting your device to it.
I try google home too and it still not fix , i use it normally on another phone it is samsung s20 FE and work perfectly. They use same google account but you see the color of assistant in s22 is white but on s20 fe is colorful one. 2 of them had same setting too.
Apologies if this has been asked/solved before, but whenever I install Gboard on my watch 4, after a day or two this notification comes up and I can't get rid of it or find what is causing it.
Have tried reinstalling (both phone and watch), done a reset of the watch, joined and unjoined the beta program to no avail. Any ideas how to get rid (other than just deleting the app obviously)?

Had the same issue.
Make sure gboard is set up as the keyboard you want to use in settings and continue.
I made sure that watch is connected via Bluetooth and enabled wifi on there as well.
Then I rebooted my watch and when it booted up i got this notification again. Now i opened up reminder or any other app which opens the keyboard.
Gboard will open and a little textbox will show up stating it will download a language.
I let it sit there until screen got dark and waited around 5 minutes. After that i checked my watch seeing the gboard notification had gone.
