As per subject, voice dictation with Gboard is not working most of the times.
I have also found out that this happens only if I have two languages configured: if I set only one language, all works properly.
Maybe Google assumed that only one language would be used at a time? I imagine there's a limit on how many languages can be used on one phone. YMMV

It was working once
So here's a how I solved: I still have two languages configured but multilingual has been disabled for both. Have to show the change language button now (with drawback of losing the icon change button) to be able to switch between English and Italian.

Is there a way to turn off temporary spell checker in WP7 while typing SMS or emails?
Ugh, Microsoft went and hid it in Mango, but, just for you, I found it again.
Settings -> Keyboard -> Typing settings -> English (or the language you want to use) - tap on it. You can then turn off the spelling highlighint and/or automatic correction.
Now, there's no way to say "only use this when in messaging or email" but if you enable multiple languages on your phone, you can sort of do it. Enable another language (that uses the same characters as your normal language, but is not your normal language). Disable all the correction stuff for that second language. Then, when you're doing messaging, switch the keyboard to the alternate language, and you can avoid all the correction stuff.
Thanks a lot man! Stay alive and die another day :-D

Hey,
So I just bought myself a nexus 5 and one of the first things I did was, I disabled all autocorrection, dictionary and autocompletion. The reason for that is, I write in mostly unsupported languages by dictionaries, and even better reason is that I write often in dialect.
Anyways... I've decided to try the swipe function out. And it seems, that it still tries to correct my words into other other words.
So, does any one know if it is possible to completely disable autocorrection?
Exuse my typos, regards xD

AI is taking over, best to act robotic and hope for humanity to prevail. Luckily we have a friendly program on our side, and if we're lucky we can Swype away this danger.

Hi all,
I've been playing around with the semi-new high-quality TTS voices, and I'd really like to use the UK voice for navigation and Google Now. Unfortunately, selecting other voices in the Text-To-Speech menu does not change either of those two voices (It does work in other apps, like utter!.) I messed around with INOVA as well, with the same problem. The only fix I've found so far is to change the entire default system language to English (UK), but that also has the effect of changing my clock to 24-hour, and a few other British tweaks that I'd rather not have, and it still doesn't solve the problem of letting me choose the British male voice (or any INOVA voice.) Any ideas?
Thanks in advance!
Almost forgot: Running Nexus 5, rooted, stock ROM +Xposed-- if there's an Xposed module out there that will do this, please let me know!
Hi, the stock Samsung keyboard will randomly capitalize words which aren't capitalized while typing. It happens to random words in the middle of the sentence.
Any other users here with the same problem and an idea how to fix this?

This is an issue with how their user dictionary works.. anytime you capitalize something, it saves that word as if it's a 'custom' word to your dictionary.. once I capitalized the word "Habit" when I was texting my wife because of a restaurant called The Habit where we live, now it always capitalizes that word when I swipe it. I've tested this theory and it does operate this way, unfortunately. What you can do is clear the user dictionary in the keyboard settings then it will revert all of those words back to normal.. until you ever capitalize them again. Sucks, but it is what it is.
I have found, however, when you "force" the UNcapitalized version of the word manually (after it auto-capitalizes it) then the next time you swipe or type that word it will be normal.. it uses statistical use data to decide which you use more, and will default to that..

Well, I'm pretty sure I never capitalized words like "so", "or" and "and".
Will try your suggestion though, this also happened after I clean flashed a new ROM few days ago. Maybe the cloud dictionary data is messed up and flooded with falsely capitalized words.
If it makes you feel better, I have the same problem with Swiftkey.

That's because the Samsung stock keyboard IS Swiftkey
Oh, well that makes sense.
I disabled the Samsung version and installed Swiftkey from the Play store.
Swiftkey

I just dealt with the same issue. I installed Swiftkey, disabled Samsung's keyboard - all good.
Mine just started doing this also. I'm one of those weird people that believe in proper grammar.
Very strange that the Samsung keyboard application does not auto capitalize I.
Couldn't find anything in the settings.
Please don't suggest i switch to another keyboard app.
Thanks.

Thanks.
I did that.
It only auto capitalizes the first word after a period (full stop).
It will not auto capitalize the i within a sentence.
I see the suggestion for the capital "I" when using it mid sentence, I guess that's as good as it gets in that instance,at least with Samsung keyboard.
FWIW, I don't have that problem w/SwiftKey, but, that doesn't sound like an option you want to pursue.
Did you just recently start using Samsung keyboard, &/or, is this something that just started happening?
My use of Samsung's keyboard is virtually non - existent, so, I really don't have much more to add..... Was thinking if you're new to Samsung keyboard, maybe it just needs more time/usage to improve upon your usage habits.
My only other thought is that there's something lost in translation,so to speak, given Samsung is a Korean company & the letter "I" & it's usage in English isn't programmed in fully.....
