Bought used P40 Pro, can't activate because it's still linked to a Huawei ID. Seller not responding... - Huawei P40 Pro Questions & Answers

I rather naively bought a used P40 Pro through the local equivalent of facebook marketplace. It arrives by mail, I go to activate it, and it says "this device is already linked to a Huawei ID". I attempt to contact the seller and get no response. What can I do at this point? Is there some way of bypassing the Huawei FRP? The phone came with a box, which lists the serial number. I started to fill out the form to send to Huawei to "request activation" but it wouldn't let me submit without the Huawei ID, which I don't know. At this point, what are my options? Should I take it into a Huawei shop? Should I attempt some kind of EMUI 12 to 10 downgrade and then try a FRP bypass? Does that actually work? Thanks for any help you can offer.

Whatsapp keeps banning my account, any hints?

Hi guys. I'm actually doing this thread just because Whatsapp has acquired an understandable behaviour, but I want to know if I can fully reset my account in order to get it working.
3 days ago, after a total number of +500 reinstalls with same number (I flash my phone very often, about 100 ROMs per device) it started to add 24hs of suspension of my account at everytime I try to verify its number again, so, if I flash 2 ROMs in a day, I got ~48hs of ban, and can't verify my account. It seems like they think that I'm trying to SPAM their severs.
Is there any way to, at least, even loosing everything, fully wipe my account without getting a new number? I've contacted their support, but being root they've automatically rejected my ticket.
Thanks in advance.

How do they know in advance that you're rooted, can't you just send an email to the support adress? A human will read it and might be able to help you.
Other than that, there is probably nothing you can do about it

Thanks for the answer, but they only read it if it comes with their headers containing the device info.
If you kept on doing that your account will be permanently banned.
you to wait and be patience and do contact there support or you can also try to contact them via there official facebook page
The only thing you should do right now is lay low & avoid doing what you're actually doing because this will only result in a permanent ban

Carrier Unlocking

I dropped and cracked the screen on my Photon Q. :crying: It works but it keeps acting like the screen is touched where the crack is.
I ordered a replacement on ebay and received it. I rooted it with Kingroot. It is running Android 4.1.2.
I called Red Pocket Mobile to have them activate the device on my account, but they said they could not until Sprint unlocks it. :crying:Sprint customer service tells me they cannot unlock, unless I have the following: :crying:
account number attached to the device confused: )
account holder's name (

}
)
account holder's password, or the last 4 digits of their SSN (
)
IMEI or MEID (found both under settings )
phone number attached to device
There is a phone number in the device settings. When I enter that into Sprint's customer service phone robot, she does not recognize the number. So, I am assuming the person has moved their number to some other company. (
)
Suggestions / solutions?
Could I somehow move the software and settings from the cracked one to the new one? Some kind of bit-by-bit clone or something?
Other Solutions?
I guess you could put the old motherboard inside the "new" phone. It's simple - all you have to use is a torx 5 (or maybe it was torx 4) screwdriver.
Thank you for the suggestion

I have very bad luck. Murphy must just hate me LOL. But, I will take it to a shop and have that done. Should be inexpensive if it is so easy...

Do not worry. It is just a badly cleaned up phone. Do the following: Charge the phone to at least 80%, unplug. Turn off the phone. Start again by pressing the power and volume up keys at the same time untill the phone vibrates and the Huawei logo shows up. Release keys. Wait until the recovery screen shows up and press the option to erase data/reset to factory defaults, that is the option in the middle. Select it. This will leave you with a second-hand phone as clean as bought new from the store, or even cleaner.

Security Code on Phone Packaging - Is there one? Solved

Just wanted to check in with other Poco X3 NFC owners. When I went to register the device with Xiaomi, I signed into my Mi Account, then to the registration page where there were 2 tabs: "Verify your phone purchase", which requires the imei code. The second tab is "Xiaomi Product Authentication", which requires a 20-digit security code. The code location is shown in this picture:

}
I searched my packaging for this scratch off label, but there isn't one, nor is there a security code anywhere on the packaging. One end of the box has the SN and 2 imei codes, as does the sticker on the back of the phone. But neither shows a security code.
I contact Xiaomi support and they responded that if the label isn't there, the product may not be genuine and then told me to contact the vendor, which was Bangg**d. I have and am waiting for their response.
My question to fellow Poco owners is, did you have this authentication label on your phone, or somewhere on the packaging?
I would appreciate your response, as at this point I don't know if the phone is genuine or not. Phone works fine.
After finally getting a straight answer from Xiaomi this question is answered. The 20-digit security code is for Power banks, the imei is for phones. So no, there is no security code required for the phone.

Thanks. How do we know when the warranty started then? I want to check if the phone was used before.

If you want to unlock your SIM and you have completely cleared the dues to your provider, approach them for a way. If you have not paid off the phone, it is illegal to attempt to unlock the SIM and XDA is not the place for seeking help.
I am closing the thread now.
