Is there any way to completely erase the statistics regarding battery usage in the Settings app?
It seems that when I played with the time settings and recharged the battery, the stats data was completely messed up.
I have tried deleting files under /data/system that might be involved and deleting the settings app storage.

Since you have a N8000 obvious culprits are sync, wakelocks, and apps trying to poll for a connection.
Go through the settings menu and look at the Data Usage figures, check what is using most of the data. Pay particular attention to apps that you might only use infrequently.
Next step would be to look in battery stats. Download better battery stats (not sure if requires root or not) or equivalent and let it run a cycle to check what is draining the battery.
This next step is probably the most important thing to do with any android phone/tablet. Housekeeping. Go through the device and uninstall any/all apps you never use. Also, periodically go into app settings and clear the cache for apps such as G+, Currents, Pinterest, etc as these a re memory hogs. G+ can in the space of a day eat up 200mb of space just in cache. I reclaimed over a gig of space by clearing the app cache.

"Android System" keeping phone awake 24/7, draining battery life- T-Mobile Z3
I startes noticing that even after quite a few charge cycles, I'm still getting 4-5 hours of SoT over less than 24 hours. The phone is awake 24/7, and Android System seems to be the cause, but no idea why. Does anybody have any suggestions? I've attached some screenshots.
Factory reset?
Sent from my Z3
Maybe you have some apps causing wakelocks, showing through Android system? My dad had massive data usage from Youtube which confused me until I uninstalled an app that used YouTube.
Yes something that you have installed is causing the Android System to run for extended periods.
I would first try, disabling some apps in the settings menu, to see if that helps. (like throw, bluetooth, NFC, wifi, hotspot) see if any of those help
I would factory reset, and be very careful about what you install back onto the phone initially.
Or instead of reset try, clearing out all apps and re-install one by one untill you hit a bad one. If that does not work I guess reset.

In Settings>Power Management, there is a selection called "App power consumption". Have you checked there? There could be an app listed that drains the battery.
I had checked app power consumption, and unfortunately it didn't give me any further information. Better Battery Stats is also almost completely useless without root, but I did try it and saw Performance Manager or something to that effect was what was keeping it awake (in Kernel Wakelocks). I ended up doing a factory reset, and it seems like it's working fine now with the same combination of apps.
I think I disabled something I shouldn't have using pm block (package), since after some searching it seems like the phone might have been constantly searching for a blocked package, keeping it awake. It's working fine now, thanks everyone for your suggestions!
The day before yesterday I decided to reset/repair the phone from sony companion in an attempt to solve the battery drain (I think due to cell radio standby, shown as the biggest consumer in the power management list) and trying to install one app at a time to figure if app-related.
Right from the start I uninstalled/disabled a few stock apps, including twitter/facebook. I am using however google now, aquamail. As I also suspect spotify to be a huge drainer I didn't install it yet but I am listening to music from sdcard through poweramp.
So yesterday, first day usage, with moderate usage, was heading to almost 6hrs sot which is a big improvement from 3-4 sot before reset, same usage pattern except spotify.
At 40% batt I updated a few apps amongst them sony albums.
The main sdcard is mostly empty since reset. I have kept however the few photos/video and the music folder on external sdcard.
Right after last night update noticed the phone is draining fast even with screen off. Mediaserver shows some cpu time but also keeping the phone awake the whole time.
So i have cleared cache/data of media storage app, rebooted, put a .nomedia file in the music folder. A couple hours later, battery at 80% after 30 min sot, mediaserver is again keeping my phone awake.
I don't see anything else relevant to this issue on forums aside from things I already did, reset with sdcard wipe included.
Any idea what to try next?
Do you have lot of media on your external sd?
Remove your sd and try.
Please ignore my previous post. the mediaserver indexing might just be legit as I found a huge bunch of pics on my external sdcard, probably copied there before reset. All photos sync is off, imagine mediascanner has trouble with that many files. The solution was for me to delete them as really don't need them on device but you might use the .nomedia file trick.
I have cleared media storage data and restart the app, I expect this to solve it, will let you know if that's not the case
I get tired of talking about this issue after updating my S7 to android Nougat.
My screen-off draining too much battery. I've deleted cache partition and reset app preferences but i don't see any changes.
I've checked with GSam and it shows that Comibined App CPU used battery a lot (about 80%).
I wonder if you could help me on this issue

Hi mate
That information is not enough to solve the problem you need an app like BBS to find out who is the culprit....let it run for a few hours and check the logs....from there we can take action
i am also having the same problem. combined app cpu 80-90% also my download manager and mtp host, media manager are draining battery. when i disabled those, it helps but the i cant access Google play or anything on sd card.
Hi - I have an SM-S908E running Dr Ketan's T05 ROM.
My phone is running fine, but I am very disappointed with the overall battery life. I used to be at 70%+ battery at the end of the day, and now I am in the low 30% range. It could be due to a setting I changed, but I can't figure out what is draining my battery so much faster. Extending my battery life is the most important feature on any phone for me. I always keep my phones until they start to fail due to hardware failures, and I will replace the battery if I can.
Just for reference, my new S22 Ultra replaced a OnePlus 7 Pro that still had the original battery and was typically at 65%+ battery at the end of the day.
So, I'm looking for a bit of help with:
What apps are available to identify what is draining my battery, or can improve my battery life?
What settings should I have to maximize battery life?
What Samsung apps can I uninstall to improve battery life? I don't use any Bixby functionality or the Samsung One UI 5 stuff.
I don't mind changing settings that could result in minor performance hits. This phone is more than fast enough, and reducing the speed by 20% if it would significantly improve battery life would be a stellar win for me.
Thanks!
- Just add all apps to deep sleep for which you don't needs notification or work in the background
- Add all apps to sleeping app for which little delay in notification is fine
Also if you restore your Appdata from cloud never do it for system app, for example settings. Instead spare 5 min time to manually setup. Restore only user app +data with Swiftbackup or similar
Still issue, install Better battery stat (search xda) and monitor and find out culprit
Thanks for the advice, @dr.ketan!
Over 50% of my apps are in deep sleep, and about 30% are in sleep. I did add a few more apps to Deep Sleep. I will check if there is any improvement.
I did restore my system settings from the cloud. If my battery life hasn't improved significantly, I think I will need to create a backup and then do a Factory Reset to clear those settings out and start over with a new installation - this time doing my system settings manually.
I'm pretty sure that means that I will need to restore root and reinstall your ROM. Now that I have gone through those steps once recently, I can do it again a little quicker this time.

To clean install you don't have to reinstall rom if you are already on required rom
Simply factory reset device from twrp
Install magisk apk - open it - let it setup required environment
Reboot
Apply Essential fix from rom tool
Reboot
Setup your device
OK, thanks! My battery life hasn't improved, so I will do a Factory Reset and reconfigure.
I'll install TWRP and follow your steps above.
