Themes / Apps / Mods [CLOSED] Better GCam - Google Pixel 6a

In my experience the default gcam struggles with landscape photos making the grass look very strange when used on a large screen as a desktop wallpaper. I also find the zoomed in detail pretty poor on the newest update compared to when I first bought the 6a.
I found this gcam mod from MWP called "Gcam_8.4.300_beta6" that seems to fix both of those problems. The only bug I found with it is sometimes the image looks very blue or very orange, but this goes away after restarting the app.
The only settings that I changed from default were in Settings -> Advanced -> Super res zoom (ON) and also Settings -> Advanced -> Lib-patcher -> Custom Libs (MWP-NoiC).
I find that Custom Libs setting to have the best detail from my limited testing side by side but it does make the photo slightly less vibrant than the default google camera app.

I also tried the new beta7 but it crash looped for me so I went back to the beta6.

[Live Wallpaper] 3D Active Blocks **updated 5/22/11 **.

This is my first android active opengl 3D wallpaper. Its tilt sensitive and when you touch the wallpaper it causes a ripple effect in the blocks. I have some options to remove the random z axis movement and two different block textures.
I’ve only tested it on my nexus one, and I’m looking for feedback(ideas) and how it runs on other active wallpaper enabled devices.
Thank for trying it out.
Video preview http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ttkBMfPyrXQ
Version update 3.2.3
Added grid rebuild effect when wallpaper comes back in view. Can also be disabled in settings.
Reduced app size, project cleanup and changed some textures to jpgs.
Version update 3.2.2
More work on gallery image selection and the image is now better aligned with texture.
More work on movement code, hoping this corrects the grid position errors
Version update 3.2.1
Rebuilt with target OS 2.1 and lowered texture size to help reduce FC's.
Latest version 3.2.
- Added gallery image clipping, to better size image to grid.
- Uploaded app to market.
Features and effects for version 3.1
- Sticky finger effect (item can stick to your finger and fall back down)
- Disable accelerometer option, saves on battery
- Optimized touch selection.
- Made changes to gallery image loading. Reduced memory footprint and better scaling. (still in work)
- Homescreen page position now tilts the grid.
- Worked on landscape mode. (still in work)
- New preference settings.
**Note It can now be downloaded from the market, just seach for "activeblocks" or use the below link.

Why it asks permissions for Storage and Phone calls?
I have installed it on my HTC Desire and it seems to be working fine.
obvious question is... how's the batterly life since it uses the sensors?

I'm looking into why its wanting those permissions, because the only one I use is ACCESS_SURFACE_FLINGER for object selection screen buffer writing.
Also I'm working on custom texture selection, which gives you the abillity to use any picture for the textures.
As for battery life, my wallpaper stops running when its not in view so that should help battery life.
Version 3 updated, many new features and effects, see first post for details.
Added video preview see first post for link.
Looks very nice.
cool idea, but it needs higher quality images to start. maybe some additional settings to tweak the users experience?
Looks cool. going to give it a try.
How to remove this??????
for my dext it's tooooo heavy
can't find any way.. hmmm
edit.
es file xplorer can't find it but standard app remover yes... sorry (however nice app )
So I downloaded the app for my HTC Desire and sent it to me through mail. I installed the app and it said that it was installed. But I can't seem to find the app anywhere in my app list, anyone knows why?
I tried this out, it seems to be pretty cool, but on the Droid X it seems to tile images. Maybe it is set to work with a certain pixel size image and tiles them if they are over that size?
You can remove this when you go to settings --> Aplications --> Manage applications --> All
it should be in that list

It's a live wallpaper, not an app. You set it as a wallpaper. That's why the thread starts with [Live Wallpaper]
Hehe.
Very cool. Woul love to pick an album, rather than just a single picture from my gallery. Perhaps picking a set number of pics would be ok, also.
lwp
I have never had a problem installing apps before, some reason with this i get an error saying that no app can be found to install it. Any ideas?
im a noob to all of this.. what steps need to be taken to get this onto your device? galexy s, vibrant to be exact
Its a cool live wallpaper its just makes my nexus choppy as hell, also I dont like the fact when you restart your phone and have a custom image the screen comes back on all white. Otherwise its pretty damn cool.
Very nice concept mate, works flawlessly on my SGS

[CLOSED] Google Camera + Night Sight - UPDATE 3 (PIE VERSION) [CLOSED]

Well, this camera is working on our phones with Night Sight.
Install the camera, go to settings ---> Mod Settings ---> Fix ----> Raw Sensor - change it to RAW_SENSOR.
After that, go back to settings ---> Photo ---> Advanced ---> Night Sight and enable Alternative Config 8.1, go back to viewfinder and done. ALREADY SET!
Now comes the hardest part, we need help with the settings, because the photos are overexpoded, high ISO and things like that. To be honest, I don't know how works most of the settings, so please, if you find the right settings, share it with us HERE everyone could enjoy the benefits of this app, we're a community, so we help each other, don't forget that. The config is more stable now.

UPDATE 3:
I uploaded 2 files, one for normal shoot and the other for black and white photos.
I have to say that I just edited the files to make it work on our devices, Monochrome xml was taken from a telegram group (OP6/OP6T), thanks to Jean-Luc for this mod.
Download the XML file that I attached and save it into Gcam/Configs (folder inside internal memory).
Now, check the photo that I posted and open Gcam and double tap to restore the config.
Note: You'll need to tap to focus before take the photo, to avoid overexposed photos o errors.
I took both files (camera and configs) from a telegram group, so, Thanks to the guys who modded the app and edited the config, thank you very much! What a great job was done

click on link , go to XML page
click on "minus" before map to minimize file , it will be like "+<map></map>" , then right click on "+" and select save as .... (name)
next steps are explained in other posts here .... "Gcam" folder in internal memory , inside it create a new named "Configs" and this folder put XML file
open Gcam apk ,click twice anywhere in a place between shooter and left icon for change camera back-front , it will appear a window with restore settings "nico...." you just save it in "Configs" . That's it !

i tried using night sight and it just sat there and it wouldnt load .....but the other features worked,
Portrait mode is not working ....
Photos with the front camera do not change compared to those of the native camera, the face does not get more details as with the ports of the GCAM 5.1
Can someone re upload the Nico-NormalShoot+NightSight.xml please? I need it for gcam and when I click the original one it says it's unavailable.
Photobooth Crash
Only monochrome file
Only the monochrome file is working ?
Do you need Root ?? I do not see a GCAM folder in my file explorer.
I tried to install on Motorola One Macro and then Motorola One Vision. I followed the tutorial to the letter. But it crashes on both handsets right after installing and opening.
Sent from my Motorola One Hyper using XDA Labs
Hi,
Is there any update for this cam? I've tried in night sight using the xml files but all of the pictures are just coming exaggeratedly overexposed and with a lot of noise.
Thanks in advance for the help
it's amazing, I take photos without light and I was surprised, really thank you very much for this development, I will attach 2 photos in comparison of the difference.

Try setting it off. It would work.
Interestingly when I set it to her on pictures are having overblown whites. And with hdr+ enhanced it's not taking pictures at all... Android 10 here. Any suggestions?
It doesn't work anymore, the hdr shows processing, and after turning the hdr off, it won't click pictures
Update after Android 10
I faced the same problem of HDR processing never ending after Android 10 upgrade. However, the photos still seem to turn out okay. Thanks for this port! I'm running it on Motorola One Action.
Hello,
What level of "Camera2 API" is enabled on "Motorola One Action"?
"Full" or "Level 3" ???
Example Image Attached: DevCheck in Xiaomi Mi 9T (Level 3)

[TEMPORARY SOLUTION] Selfie zoom problem ON INSTAGRAM

Hi people, in this video is the only solution I found for the troublesome Instagram zoom problem. You just have to follow the steps seen in the video (This video is not mine).
YOUTUBE VIDEO
Steps if you don't want to see the video:
- enable programmer options
-go to the drawing section
-in that section, go to the smallest width
-switch to 400dp (432 comes from factory)
-go to gestures, switch to 3 buttons
And finally, if you need to go back to Android 10 gestures, the wrong Instagram zoom will come back.
If you have any problem with an application due to the modification of the DP values, just go back to the original values: 432DP.
UPDATE:
A second option is download Threads from Instagram. This app uses the same instagram filters (sice it also belongs to this one). Also with this app, it is not necessary to perform the previous steps to avoid zooming in the selfies. You only need download the photos and then upload them the original app.

Maybe, try to follow the same steps and then comment what happened
I have found a solution but you need to root the device and it is using the Screen Shift application. You can find it in Playstore.
Once downloaded and allowed root access, you can create a resolution for the application to run, in this case it can be Instagram or Snapchat, and you set a resolution of 16: 9, the maximum allowed for a G9 Plus is 1080x1920.
It is a good solution, it hurts that it looks black at the top and bottom.
Hope I can fix the problem for you until Instagram and Snapchat decide to schedule 21: 9.
Best regards,

Just realized that this issue is not happening on android 11 anymore. Months after the update I decided to went back to the original values (432DP) and it's working fine (in fact idk if it was corrected by an update from instagram or the OS, but anyways)

Themes / Apps / Mods [CLOSED] Google Camera Mod For Poco X3 Pro (Bhima/Vayu) [ Beta (8.4) ]

Poco X3 Pro is a device capable of delivering amazing photos with the help of Google-Camera Mod which has gained a lot of popularity in the past recent years. The aim of this thread is to provide the vayu community with the latest news and updates about our Google-Camera Mod.
The latest available G-Cam Mod is 8.4 version which is now in beta stage and pretty usable for daily use. All features are working very well with the exception of face retouching. A lot of work has been put into this version and many significant advancements have been made towards solving various bugs and improving the stability and output quality of this Google-Camera Mod.
Bugs:
• Face Retouching Not Working
• No Ultra Wide & Macro Lens Support Yet ( Should Be Added In Future Builds )
Download Links & Steps To Be Followed :
1.You Can Download Google-Camera 8.4.300 Beta Made By Arnova8G2 From HERE.
2.You'll Need To Import Gca File Into Gcam Now.
• How To Load:
Settings > Advanced > XML Config > Select Config > Browse & Select The GCA File
• Download The Gca File From HERE.
3.Now You'll Need A Config (XML) File To Apply The Necessary Changes To Enhance The Experience And Output Of The Gcam Optimised Specially For The Device.
• How To Load :
Step 1 - Move This File To The Following Location Internal > GCam > Configs8 (Create An Folder If Its Not There)
Step 2 - Then Double Click The Empty Space Next To The Shutter Button And Select The XML
• Download The Config (XML) File From HERE
NOTES:
Android 11 & above users must grant full file permissions to Google-Camera in order to be able to load xml configs
( Long-press on G-Cam icon > Info > See More > Permissions > Files and Media > Allow management of all files )
To prevent slow-motion/video focus hunting issues, tap to focus on the viewfinder and lock AF/AE by tapping the lock icon on top of the EV slider or DISABLE stabilization.
[ PRO Back Camera Tip ]
When shooting in low-light scenarios like after sunset or before sunrise, tap to focus on the viewfinder for a better exposure. Focusing manually will raise just the right amount of exposure for a perfectly balanced ratio between highlights and shadows
When shooting a subject with strong light coming from behind, tap to focus on the subject and slightly raise exposure using the exposure slider. This will ensure the subject will be well exposed
[ PRO Front Camera Tip ]
When shooting a selfie with strong light coming from behind or when shooting in low-light, your face may be underexposed. To counteract this issue, tap to focus on your face and slightly raise exposure using the exposure slider. This will ensure your face will be well exposed
For smoother selfies with less facial details on HDR+ Enhanced, Take Selfies In Night Sight Mode. (Hack For Beauty Mode LOL).
IMPORTANT: A clean install is always recommended prior to using Google-Camera in order to avoid possible functionality issues with the app! First uninstall all G-Cam apps currently found on your system » install G-Cam » open it and grant permissions » close G-Cam » clear G-Cam data and cache » open G-Cam and apply the settings/config » reboot device
Enjoy Google-Camera 8.4 on your vayu !
