Question Closing apps at a specific time? - Google Pixel 7 Pro

Hi all,
I've yet to find a way to close an app at a specific time, screen timer is a very mild version of what I want it to do, I basically want to give it the instruction to close Disney+ at 1AM. It was easy on the Galaxy phones as Bixby routines would do it with no problem but I'm struggling to replicate it on my P7P. The only suggestion I can find online is to use Macrodroid and I've tried that with no success.
Any other ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers

Maybe try Tasker.

I've had the same issue. Worked great with Bixby routines. Only way in Google is to give it a command like you'd ask assistant. But it just doesn't work. I'll try tasker again in all my free time haha.

Macrodroid is the way to go. Its quite powerful.

Asking guidance to make an app from scratch -will donate

I want to make an Android App and publish it to the market.
The project is very simple but since I've never made an app from scratch I am asking for tutorial/guidance from any experienced developer who has already published an app to the android market.
Of course I am willing to make a donation for your time and help
Anybody wants to please help me out ??
anybody with some experience?
"up"
PS: The app I want to create is very simple
Hey this is gonna be an annoying answer but try to google it. I'm sure you will get a bunch of links.
Good luck

I know, I've been reading a lot
I just want some guidance, someone to ask in case of need
Maybe I just need to get rid of my fears and go on and publish it anyway
I have no experience whatsoever but the best I can offer is try with something extremely simple, maybe like a NotePad or something similar
It might help if you explain what you want your app to do.

Have you tried reading through a decent android book? They generally walk you through making a basic app.
http://commonsware.com/Android/
http://www.amazon.com/Beginning-Android-Games-Mario-Zechner/dp/1430230428/
Neither is a replacement for knowing Java fairly decent beforehand (which is kind of a requirement to creatively develop on android), but it will give you an idea of how an app works on android.
I would also reccomend checking out youtube or google videos in general for app walkthroughs.
Having someone screencast and walk you through making an app even as basic as notepad (if they're doing it awfully verbose and depending on how quickly you pick up on things) would still take some considerable hours.

Thank you for the links.
I know nothing about Java. Since the app inventor is dead, I was thinking of using some online app-making websites like buzztouch

[Q] HTTP GET request via Llama w/o opening browser

Hello,
I'd like to figure out a way to use Llama to send an HTTP GET request to my home automation system. In particular I wish to turn the power to the charger on and off based on battery percent as this tablet will be mounted on a wall. Since Llama seems to require opening of the browser to do this, I'm assuming this would require another app. My question is, does one exist? I just want a shortcut that will execute a HTTP request in a completely invisible fasion. Any suggestions?
Thanks!
Hello,
I have the same request. Do you find a solution?

Yes. I wrote my own little app that will create shortcuts. It's not in the Play store but I could try to send it to you if you'd like.
I find a solution with the app Tasker. This app could send an Http request but i have other issue. The better way will be to make my own app. If you could send me your version, it will be a great help for starting.
(Sorry for my English)

I just sent you an email with the apk attached. I just downloaded the Tasker trial and wasn't super impressed. Perhaps if it were free I would've made use of it but I enjoyed the opportunity to learn a little about Android development. What was your issues with Tasker?
Let me know if my app works for you.
Hello !
I'm also looking for a similar solution.
I use Llama and I need to update my Android GPS location through a HTTP POST.
I really don't want to use tasker... Do you have clues for me ? I'm able if needed to create an APK.
Thanks !

The little app I wrote is only designed to make a static HTTP request. In other words, it won't be able to read any Llama variables or anything like that. However, it probably wouldn't be too difficult to modify the app to support what you're looking to do. I could send you the source code privately if you promise to send me back your changes.
@mrceolla Could you send me the app and source code. I shall send back any changes I do.

detatch app from market/ change signature / stop market from trying to update it?

did i squeeze enough in the title there? lol
basically, i have an app, and the app did a major overhaul of its functionality and layout. soo for the past 6 months ive been intentionally not updating it when the market bugs me to. id like to just once and for all figure out some way to associate it with the market.
anyone out there wanna help me out with a way to do this? ive tried the titaniumbackup feature, but i dont believe it works anymore. i also tried changing the signature, but i always seem to break the app.
ill add "Thanks" to anyone responding with advice, thanks!

Just turn off auto updating in the market and you won't get bugged.
The titanium feature works for me even on 4.4.

Keep app on memory...

So, i've been looking everywhere for this and found a lot of negative answers as also tried some fixes that did not work for me. What i wanted was a way of keeping an app into the memory without being auto killed by the Android System. I know there will be people saying that it's not possible. But there should be a way somehow right? Even if you had to transform it into a foreground app then it wouldn't be closed. The question is, how? Can someone be so kind as to help me into this? Thanks

Gear S3 screen timeout - Altimeter

Hi All
I want to use my Gear S3 for paragliding. Does anyone know of anyway to have the Altimeter stay on screen without timing out? I need to have it on screen for the duration of the flight which could be 1-2hrs.
Many Thanks
Myles
not without interacting with the app every 30 seconds.
I've requested the ability to keep an active app open until manually closed, and i suggest you do the same.
more people requesting it means a bigger chance they'll change it.
you can suggest changes here: https://help.content.samsung.com/csweb/ticket/createQuestionTicket.do

this is the correct link.
it does exactly what is expected, thanks.
it also gives you true AOD, it won't even allow the screensaver clock to appear.
Thanks for the replies everyone. Downloaded the app in the link and it works great. Thank you, this has solved my issue. Now I can use my S3 for flying.

Your link doesn't work for me. I'm in Spain, and the link just brings up a page with a message in Spanish offering to redirect me to Galaxy apps. No other option, so I accept that and it does indeed open the Galaxy Apps store on my phone - but just at the home page. I need to know the name of your app so I can search for it on there. Can you please therefore confirm the name of your app?
it's called "I Am Alive"
most likely the app isn't available for your region, so your galaxy apps app opens the main page instead.

Thanks. I searched for "I Am Alive" in the Galaxy appps store and found it without difficulty, and have downloaded it. Thanks heaps. Just shows, for marketing and practical reasons it's always a good diea to state the actual name of your app whenever you refer to it.
Hi everyone,
The main reason I got this watch was to use as a secondary alti whilst skydiving. I chose it based on the fact that I could use the app to keep the app open.
I tested it during a jump today and unfortunately the watch was still going back to sleep after 2 or 3 minutes. Have Samsung updated the OS to prevent wakelock of any type or something? Has anyone got a workaround or an alternative app?
Alternatively, does anyone know of an android wear OS app method to do this? I may have to refund the S3 and switch to the Huawei watch 2 if I can't get this working unfortunately. It would be a shame if I had to, its a beautiful smart watch (although I have found it to be very limited in certain ways).
Thanks
