Is there a way to change the resolution when you connect the phone with HDMI cable?
when I connect the phone to my TV the resolution is forced to 4K and 30Hz, I want to change it to 60Hz, even if I need to change the resolution to 1080p but I cant find an option, im using stock firmware

Hi guys.
I have some questions about MHL to HDMI bridge.
Lets me to explain what is my problem. I made custom electronic to convert HDMI to LVDS and drive LCD display which have native resolution 1024x600 pixels. I want to put image from my Samsung Galaxy SII phone to display . When I connect electronics to the PC, windows detect my display via EDID and put the image on screen. Everything works perfectly. But when I do the same thing with MHL to HDMI converter and phone I get black screen.
I read that MHL to HDMI converter support 720p to 1080p resolution. Is there a possibility to drive LCDs with smaler resolution than 720p trough this bridge.
nope, you need a scaler function somewhere in between.
For anybody that isn't familiar with it, the UG008 is an RK3066 device very similar to the UG007 but in a larger case and with the addition of an external wifi antenna, ethernet port, and an analog A/V port. I went with it primarily because the analog A/V port allows you to connect a set of speakers when using it with an HDMI to DVI adapter (for viewing on a computer monitor) without the need for a separate USB sound card. Anyhow, to get to the point of this post...
Is there any way to add custom resolutions? It has the option for 1080p and 720p but the monitor I'm using has a native resolution of 1680x1050 (16x10). and stretches any non-native resolution to fill the screen. It's not bad in video, but text isn't as crisp as it should be.
Also, I was wondering if there is any way to connect another Android device with a usb cable to transfer files? I tried connecting my Note 2 which automatically launched the gallery app on the UG008 and gave me the option to transfer pictures but no way that I could find to transfer anything else. I assume if I could put the phone into mass storage mode it would work fine but unfortunately they seem to have done away with it in favor of MTP and PTP.
Thanks,
Tony

Other than a custom rom I wouldn't know of any other way to handle the resolution issue. No idea on the other device either. My question is on the recovery. Did u get one installed on it?
Hi Everybody,
When connecting my LG Optimus G (CM 11) to my Asus 1440×900 screen through 1) an MHL adapter 2) an HDMI cable and 3) an HDMI->DVI converter, I keep getting a 640px x 480px output regardless of the resolution set. I've already tried three of the resolution changer programs available on google play. When setting different resolutions, changes take effect on the screen of my mobile, but the image of the secondary screen is always fitted into a 640×480 "frame". Then this is stretched on the monitor.
When I connect my mobile to an HDMI-capable monitor through the MHL adapter and an HDMI cable, the phone can recognise the resolution of the monitor, and no such problems occur.
When I connect my computer to my Asus monitor through the setup described above (MHL adapter, HDMI cable, HDMI/DVI converter), resolution is fine.
Do you think this problem is software-related? Can I somehow force the MHL output to the resolution of my monitor?
Thank you for your help in advance.
Please post in Freaking Annoying Questions (aka FAQ)- LG Optimus G(Intl) so that one the experts for your device may be of help.
Hey, im not sure its the right place to post it so if not please let me know or move it to the right one.
Im trying to connect it to my monitor but my monitor only supports a 720P transmission so it crushed as soon as i mirroring.
i have searched for hours on the internet and i was unable to find how to change or even open the Allshare cast dongle settings..
Maybe there is any option on My Galaxy S5 to change the mirror resolution?
Any help will be Greatfull!
Changing the casting resolution won't help, because the Dongle you're connecting outputs at 1080p. All it'll be effectively doing is upscaling a smaller image size to 1080p then trying to play this on your monitor.
Your best bet is to look around in the monitor settings or (if you can) change output resolution of the dongle if possible. Having not used them or knowing nothing about your setup that's the best help I can offer. Sorry.
Hello, when i connect my s8+ to tv via hdmi the image goes out in 18.5:9.
Do you know if is it a way to out it in 16:9
Is there an app or something else?
I think it is possible via software because with dex station (in dex mode) the output is in 16:9.
Thank you and bye
