Question How do disable DND while driving? [SOLVED] - Google Pixel 7 Pro

Still haven't figured that out after months of use... How to prevent the phone from switching to Do Not Disturb when Google Maps is navigating?
Thanks!

Hey, I found a subreddit regarding this same query and here is the solution:
In Google Maps, when in the navigation screen click the four square in the lower right corner. That will allow you to tap on a settings icon in the apps list. From there turn off Auto Start Driving Assistant.

Damn, yup, there it is! Thanks so much for sharing

[Q] Dialer app doesn't display nearby places

Dialer app stopped displaying search results for nearby places. In settings this option is On of course. Did anyone have same problem? / What would be the fix for it?
Turn location on
my location services setting is on and set to high accuracy and the dialer search doesn't work for me either. it worked perfectly when i first got the phone.
Just to be clear you don't seach using the actual number dialer.
When you're in the phone app, swipe away the dialer by swiping down above the number dialer. So now that the dialer is hidden, you search by typing in the top bar. The bar should read Search Contacts & nearby places
Mine is showing locations in Australia... I am in midtown manhattan...
That's exactly what I am and was doing. Like I said, it was working perfectly fine when I first got the phone. All of a sudden, it only searches my phone contacts now despite the setting for nearby places being ON.
That feature doesn't work for me either, even with location settings activated.
Miraculously this problem disappeared over night, but now I have another one. When I'm done talking the screen which shows who I just talked too doesn't' go away, pressing back button doesn't help either, only home screen button does the thing. Did anyone experienced it?

Swipe up from homebutton to search

One of my favourite Android functions is the quick swipe up from the home button to access google now/search.
It doesn't seem to work on the Mediapad x2. But as this phone has so many semi-hidden functions (home/back/... order; DPI settings; ....), I was wondering if I missed a setting somewhere to turn this on?
(and an other minor gripe, accessibility -> Services: Whatever you turn on, doesn't stay on. It gets turned off after x amount of time. Is there a way to keep them turned on?)
Cheers,

accessibility is turned off when the relevant app is closed. If you set app background protected, it will nto go off. But yes on boot you have to re-enable accessibility unless you use tasker or automate.
I have another stupid issue with Emui3.1
When I tap on a notification in the notification center, most apps don't open. The notification bar goes away and I stay on my homescreen. e.g. with Google Photos, Facebook, ...
Is that also a switch somewhere I have to turn off?
(Damn, I hate that phone manager)

What are the hidden functions for Home/Back..?
Not really a hidden function, but you can change their order.
Pinch the home screen inward to access hidden apps. Or you can make that your app drawer.

Location Found Notification

When I open Waze it needs my location turned on to accurately navigate, and that turns on that notification. If I tap on that notification, and tap on Waze in the list, and force stop Waze the notification goes away until the next time I use Waze. :good:
I searched for days for an answer and then figured it out on my own, so I wanted to share and see if this helps.

Reachability cursor alternative

After updating to android 10 reachability cursor stopped working are there any other alternatives?
Would like to know too.
I have started working on a "replacement" for personal use, perhaps someone else will find it useful. It's really barebones right now with no configuration options at all.
To get the app working, first you'll need to allow "Display over other apps" by going to: Settings -> Apps & notifications -> One Hand Cursor -> Advanced.
After that, enable the app's accessibility service by going to: Settings -> Accessibility -> One Hand Cursor service.
Once this is done, it should be possible to swipe from either the left or right lower edge of the screen to bring the tracker and cursor into the screen.
The source code can be found here.
It doesn't work very well with the new navigation gestures in Android 10.
A great app.

It works great!
I use it in addition to the Fluid Navigation Gestures app.
I just installed it on my onePlus 6t and allowed Accessibility and Display over other apps. When I open the app, it is stuck on the Home Screen, I suppose, it says "Hello World", a pink play button in the right bottom corner. Could anyone help, please!

You don't have to do anything else than enable display over apps and then accessibility and it just works.
From the sides you can swipe and point anywhere on the screen.
Opening the app is useless.

Do try and get it up on the Play Store. It's fantastic having a one handed cursor again. Thank you!
Ur a genius, using with ROG 2 (Android10-Gesture Nav)
This app made my life so much easier as I have a big phone, maybe some feedback for upgrades if ur open to hearing;
Make cursor able to do gestures like scroll through I web pages eg. (Swipe)
Also being able to access notifications menu would be good, as cursor disappears for me once it passed top area of screen.
& Maybe a colour change for trackpad thinking maybe white or grey sort of classic look.
My Workaround:
(I know it doesn't work the best with gestures Nav enabled but I think I can get the hang of it+back is to swipe L/R but when I use your app I only need tap bottom L/R of my screen to show trackpad) + (I added to my start-up menu on phone)
Many thanks for sharing :good:
I think you made a really good app man, congrats.

If you tap twice on the notifications bar, it expands notification and quick settings.

Has anyone got this working on a OnePlus device? I have enabled draw over other apps and accessibility but I just cannot get the cursor show up anyhow.

Sometimes you have to disable and enable these more than once to make it work.
I just released an alternative to that app, you can find it here: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.quickcursor
Thanks!

Notification at the bottom of the screen in Android 10.

Is there any way to disable these annoying notifications at the bottom of the screen about weak gps or saving parking location right after unlock the phone?
Sounds like your Google Maps program is giving you warning/notifications. I would do a deep dive into all the maps settings to see what can be turned off.

Thanks. Disabling google maps notifications has helped a bit but I still have weak gps notifications from time to time. I really don't like this new feature of android 10 and I don't see the possibility to disable these bottom notifications globally.
