Question Going from lineage 20 to pixel extended. What do I do about recovery? - OnePlus 9

Sorry, I couldn't find the answer. I installed lineage 20 on my one plus 9. I also installed the custom recovery required by lineage. I want to try out the pixel rom but what do I do about the custom lineage recovery? Do i use msm tools to restore it first? or can i install the unofficial twrp i saw on this forum instead or is there a stock recovery I can easily find to change it back? Thanks for any help.

OnePlus 9 does not have a dedicated recovery partition anymore (most modern phones don't have anymore). Instead, recovery now resides inside boot, meaning they share the same kernel. That's the reason every ROM instruction says to flash the provided boot, vendor_boot and dtbo images. Note that these 3 images are the same found in that particular ROM zip. Anyway, the point is that when you flash boot, the recovery is flashed too.
So, in your case, even if you are on LineageOS 20, and you can access LineageOS recovery, you can just go ahead and do a factory reset and flash the Pixel ROM through adb sideload. After that, boot, vendor_boot and dtbo will be automatically flashed/updated to Pixel's. But the recommended way is still to make sure you first flash those given 3 images before going to recovery and proceeding with factory reset and flashing.

[Thread doubts] OnePlus 7 chinese version [GM1900]

Hi guys, I open this thread to solve problems / doubts of this chinese version of One Plus 7 GM1900 because I guess many will be in my place.
I tell you my case:
My intention is to open bootloader to be able to put custom recovery TWRP and root it with Magisk.
Once I have it, I have doubts:
1. If I want to remove TWRP and Root, and I will leave all stock, what steps should I take?
2. If I am in OOS (for example 9.5.2) with TWRP and root and want to upgrade to a new version of OOS (for example 9.5.6), what steps do I have to follow?
3. I would like to know if this is true, and if so, what would be the solution: I have read that when a Wipe System is made from Twrp, the bootloader can be closed or that the phone does not start in fastboot mode causing a crash. Is this true?. I thought about when I wanted to install a cleaner ROM stock, make a Wipe System, data, cache and dalvik and then flash the rom, and according to that it might not be possible.
Thank you.
Hi, are these Treble GSI roms compatible with the OnePlus 7 (not pro) Chinese version GM 1900 ???

hardware is the same, firmware also fits from EU/Indian devices. next time just use search.

Flash the stock ROM and reboot. You'll have a phone with stock recovery and ROM with no root access. It won't relock your bootloader though, so you'll have to do it with: fastboot oem lock

You always need to flash full ROM zips if you're rooted and want to update. However to keep the custom recovery (TWRP), you need to flash the TWRP installer along with the ROM. Then to not lose root access you'll have to reboot to TWRP and flash Magisk. Just follow these steps:
1. Boot to TWRP
2. Flash ROM
3. Flash TWRP installer
4. Reboot to TWRP
5. Flash Magisk
6. Reboot to system

I haven't tried that yet. But since TWRP builds are official, I don't think there are bugs like that. Why don't you give it a try and let us all know?
@dewri21 Thank you very much for your answers, you have helped me a lot, thank you for your clear explanations, please like this, help those who are starting in this world.

Hehehehe I dare not do it, I could run out of mobile phone and end up with a brick. At the moment if I want to put clean OOS I think I will use Fastboot mode. Let's see if a partner who knows how to get out of a brick does Wipe Sistem and confirms that.
FASTBOOT: https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-7/how-to/rom-stock-fastboot-roms-oneplus-7-t3937478
Hi guys, I am writing to let you know that I have flashed the fastboot 9.5.6 BA ROM in my OnePlus 7 Chinese version GM 1900 and it worked perfectly. I was in TWRP, Root Margisk and Custom Kernel, and now I'm back in Stock. My device being a Chinese version came with ROM AA when removed from the box, and I confirm that the BA version can also be set up by Fastboot.
Add that as it is said, the first restart is slow, it stays a while in the warning screen of bootloader open, but it advances with the start. In my case I have not had to restore factory.
Very happy with this method to be able to return to Stock.
Hello, has anyone tried this on our OnePlus 7 to fix a brick? It seems that it is the MsMdonwloadsTools for our OnePlus 7. Someone who has a brick can try it and tell us if it works.

Is there a latest stock ROM I can flash instead of the custom ROM I'm using now?

I'm TWRP'd and Magisk'd running a custom ROM (Havoc}, but it's a little buggy. I'm looking to flash a stock ROM with the latest OxygenOS, and then maybe use a Magisk module over that.
Can I? And if so, can you point me to the correct custom ROM thread? I see a couple, but not sure which one is flashable, and which one is for restoring the phone to completely stock (removing TWRP, etc.).
I suggest using this: https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-7-pro/how-to/rom-stock-fastboot-roms-oneplus-7-pro-t3931424

I don't think you can flash a stock ROM, and keep TWRP without flashing TWRP again. TWRP will always be removed when flashing a stock ROM, since recovery doesn't reside on it's own partition for this device, but rather is on boot.img, which by definition needs to be flashed with the ROM (contains the kernel).
AFAIK, you will need to flash the stock ROM then flash TWRP and Magisk again. To do that, fastboot flash the above linked stock ROM, then fastboot boot TWRP.img, then in TWRP flash TWRP installer zip and flash Magisk. Wouldn't take long to do, just have the TWRP zip and Magisk zip on the phone ready to go, before you flash the stock ROM.

How to get back to A10 after custom rom

Hi all so I am planning to install a Havoc OS on my phone with TWRP and Magisk
So my question is in the event that the install doesnt work out for me or that I dont like the rom (no rearson why I shouldnt) how do I get back to the original A10 rom?
I have downloaded the OxygenOS 10.0.6 [EU] OnePlus 7 Pro 5G.zip file from here already. Would I be able to go ahead boot into TWRP and flash this ifneeded?
TIA Bart

Hi Bart,
Make sure you keep TWRP recovery after flashing custom Rom.
Then if you want to go back, flash official Rom zip on both slots after formatting data otherwise it won't boot.
Thanks for that.
Only thing I'm not sure is what you mean by flashing to both slots?
If for example you get a boot loop can you still get into TWRP?
I assume this is a yes as this is before it boots into the phones OS?

When returning to stock,
format data
Flash stock zip
Flash TWRP
Reboot into recovery which is TWRP
Follow the same steps again and reboot...
If you end up in boot loop, don't stress. You can always flash TWRP recovery again via fastboot.

This works for me
Fastboot boot into TWRP,, ( TWRP nebrassy edition)
install trwp via advance settings
reboot into recovery
send a copy of your ota oos over to your phone ,
flash oss ,
reboot into oss recovery
Format data in oss stock recovery
Reboot
just find a way to relock your bootloader, it will revert you to stock completely.

Can't install Pixel Experience Custom Android 12

I have been struggling to install Pixel Experience Android 12 on my Poxo X3 NFC.
I had PE Android 11 before. When I tried to flash Android 12 I get following error
assert failed: update_dynamic_partition(package_extract_file("dynamic_partition_op_list"))
Updater process ended with ERROR: 1
Error installing zip file ...
What I tried
1, Install latest firmware
2. Format Data
3. Wipe data, dalvik, cache
3. Sideloading Custom Rom
Can someone help me to revive my device please?
Thanks a lot
Hello, on my wife's X3NFC I had to flash the latest Full ROM (12.5.7) via Fastboot.
Then I was able to install the lA12 PE. I don't know why I had to do this, but it worked.
She didn't like A12 PE and now A11 PE is running again on her Phone
Maybe (I heard about that) it works too, if you only flash the super.img from latest Fastboot-Image via Recovery.

I installed MIUI fastboot rom. Then I tried to flash PE A12 rom without any issues. But after successful completion, phone reboots to bootloader (Fastboot). Can you tell me what I am doing wrong?
Can you please give me steps to install PE after you've installed MIUI fastboot rom?
1st installed latest MIUI via MiFlash
Booting successful into MIUI
Flashing TWRP in Fastboot-Mode
Booting into TWRP, install ROM, wipe Caches and format data.
Reboot Phone
