LG K30 appears as QHSUSB_BLUK - General Questions and Answers

So I was given 5 phones recently. After testing each one I found that the LG K30 (or at least I believe it to be this model) does not function. When plugging it into my computer I see QHSUSB_BLUK appear on my PC. From what I have searched I believe this device may be bricked but I am not sure why or by what. I don't believe the person to have owner this before me would try to do anything to it but I am unsure. I am wondering if anyone else has had this issue and if anyone may know a fix to this.

Manufacturers can build a phone anyway they want?

I have a problem with my phone but the company does not aknowledge it. It says that since all specific models behave the same way theres nothing they can do. So i want to ask. If my phone's touch screen is very incaccurate while being capasitive and while every other phone's is accurate there's nothing i can do? Can they also build phones that automatically shutdown without being aknowledged as a problem or anything else they like without mentioning the awkward behaviour prior to purchase?
Maybe you should RMA your phone, you can have faulty touchscreen, ... etc.
You should specify your phone manufacturer and model, than more people can help you.

Im just trying to make a point. I RMAed the phone and they told me every specific model has the same behaviour and theres nothing they can do. Im just trying to understand if i have a right to believe i have a problem or the company's answer is legit.

Xiaomi Mi6 - Heating Concern

So I recently got the new Xiaomi Mi6. The phone is great and all but mine seems to have a bad problem. It tends to heat up a lot! And sometimes I think it gets to around 40°. Imagine holding that! Anybody else out there encountering the same problem?
It's only been around a month and it seems to have affected the battery? Not pretty sure yet but I'm just concerned that it could have.
It could be either my phone that specifically have this problem alone wherein I could just easily ask for a replacement or it must be something I have done. Asking to find out if there are others encountering the same problem that has the same unit?

hardware fix for wifi/bluetooth problem

Hello everyone.
my device is actually a G play mini but we all know it's just a rebranded honor 4c ( in my case CHC U23)
my problem is wifi/bluetooth don't "see" any networks. However, mobile 3g works fine
Don't know when problem started because the phone was handed down to me.
I've done a lot of research and I will post my findings.
- This seems to be a common problem with Honor 4C/GPlaymini/P8lite. I've tried any all all stock and custom roms from all the models above and problem persists so I'm possitive it's hardware related.
- From searching youtube the solution seems to be to replace or "reball" the wifi IC. my first finding is that the part number is:
HI1101 ( I had to apply hot air to a metal shield in order to remove it and see that) it's under the shield 'between' the Kirin620 and the headphone jack. This is the same IC chip as p8 lite
- a motherboard replacement costs about the same as a new phone so not worth it IMO however the wifi chip is easily findable and reasonably cheap on ebay or alixpress and I would give it a try. (I'm a beginner but wanting to learn)
My question if anyone has any experience is:
1) In youtube videos the wifi/bluetooth switch was greyed out and then the fix was to replace IC. Since I could use the switch but phone just didn't "see" any networks (even next to the router) does that mean the problem lies elsewhere and I'm just risking to brick the phone?
2) assuming wifi IC is fine, my other idea is the RF cable/ribbon/connection is damaged (which makes sense) but I can't for the life of me find where such internal cable is either by myself or in dissasemble videos (of which there are very few for our 4C) But interestingly on ali and ebay such a part exists (won't post links but honor 4c wifi connector is easy to find)
Does anyone know where such a connection is located or if it's just a mistake from the sellers? Are there boards that don't have those white rf cables to connect internal external antennas? Where is even RF antenna on the 4C?
I will update this if I attempt repairs but it will take a long time for any parts to reach my country.
Any other input on the wifi/bluetooth issues is appreciated. Also perhaps share your story if you have a similar problem. Specially if you solved it.
Sorry if I'm not posting in the right place, but this is as close as I could get for my not-so-popular model.

Hei Alderus,
Did you manage to solve the problem?
I have the same issue with the WIFI/BT (they're grey).
Please let me know if you have any updates.
Thanks!
fixed your issue?

woops. I should have posted long time ago. Anyways the update is I solved my problem (or it got solved by itself)
I had a business trip during summer, I still didn't had the replacement modem. Anyway, I remember it was blazingly hot and kept the phone in my pocket and then... I was very surprised to see wifi was detecting networks when back in the hotel!
I was running Lineage android 6.0. Didn't do any hardware or software changes, just went to a different city by plane it was hot and it started to work! there's is the funny catch that it never seems to work on the wifi I originally used it in back in my city(I moved from there but went back and found that I could see the network but it never really connected)
Other than that wifi has been working normally in any other home/office I've been to. I have no idea what really happened, but definitely I will never buy another huawei phone.
sorry if this doesn't help anyone in the same boat...

Hard Bricks on pixel 2

I'm currently trying to find any information on how to fix a hard brick with a pixel 2 where it shows up in windows device manager as Qualcomm hs-usb qdloader 9008 or qusb (without drivers). I always seem to find myself back at This post on how to fix this but no one seems to have an answer. In that pose he says
I need to use QFIL to flash correct, prog_emmc_firehose_xxxx.mbn, together with rawprogram_XXX.xml. What is that? Does anyone happen to know where to get it?
I believe that those two files are the key I also seem to find that Google does not release them for the pixel. I'm hoping that someone has somehow managed to obtain them and put them online.
Please reply with any information you know.
I also have this issue on my Pixel 2, it seems that there is no other fix for this but to replace the motherboard. I'm still waiting for the motherboard that I ordered online, hopefully it works.
I had a version pixel 2, and I put the motherboard in mine, but I'm bummed because the one I bricked was an unlocked 128g model. I'm hoping I can figure it out in my spare time.

Got a random phone that looked like a P40 Pro off Ebay...what should I do before I return it?

Hi all,
I wish my first post on this forum could've been under better circumstances butttt I figure better safe than sorry:
So ultimately I should've looked a little closer into this phone, but I jumped the gun wayyy to quickly on a purchase from eBay. I wasn't super concerned about condition and details because I just wanted to use the Huawei p40 camera...and I figured if this had been a knock-off with the same camera then I could make it work.
I saw it, it initially looked like a P40 Pro+, the model said P40 Plus...but I should've looked much closer at the visual details.
I get it and basically it has a random generic OS on it, slow mo doesn't work, many other things don't work.
I was originally trying to get the Huawei camera app on in and tried to connect a USB drive...that didn't work. So I connected it briefly to my linux desktop. It kept unmounting as a regular device...kept unmounting as a camera...(when it was mounted, it would say "the name is not activatable" when I tried to click on it), it also had a "virtualCDROM" option which had a PDF file in it...I was not about to open that though.
The only other thing I did, was try to download the camera app over the internet, but I used my phone's hotspot because I wasn't about to hook this thing up to my Wifi. I only connected it briefly though and changed the hotspot password before and after I connected the phone.
Ultimately if it had the right camera hardware I wouldn't complain because I literally just wanna be able to shoot the super slow mo that the p40 pro can do....but it looks like it's camera is just some cheap thing as well. It claims to have a 32MP mode and 16MP mode but the "32MP" image was 2560x1920 and the "16MP" image is 1536x2048
So now that I plan to return it, I had some questions here:
1. Since I connected it to my computer, are there any processes/apps or anything that it could have tried to auto-install? I've been eyeing up my process monitor ever since and it doesn't look like anything's changed. (running Pop!OS 22.04)
2. Should I do anything to the device before I try to return it? I'll likely factory reset it but I'm wondering if it could've somehow pulled information that I'm not aware of. I 100% didn't log into any accounts or anything like that on the phone.
For the future reference of others, my phone seems to almost exactly be the phone discussed in this topic: https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/help-thread-ask-any-question-noob-friendly.2257421/
Thanks in advance for any help!
