So here is the situation and i am wondering if anyone could point me into any direction.
The phone is mine 100% have receipt, my background etc.
I was going through some stuff and changing my PSW a LOT
well i swapped phones because i thought someone was in my phone.

I will be the first to tell you I am not tech savvy at all! I have been doing some research with regards to this and have used many resources avail, including this site.
I have read most of the answers to my questions but still require assistance. I have the HTC Desire with with my local internet provider Cox Communications and I have a 10.2 inch tab through wowpad that is powered by Android supertab. It is operating on 2.1. My HTC is 2.2. I am very new to the smart phone world and tablet world.
Is there a way to just simply upgrade my tab to a new OS? Do most of you feel that rooting my phone is the way to go, because I never ever have storage that I need. I know it comes down to a personal choice. Or, will my phone eventually upgrade to a new OS?
I really want to do my tablet but honestly I literally need step by step directions in doing so. If I mess this up on my own, my wife and daughter will kill me. Thanks in advance to all of you. This is truly the best site in the world!
How would rooting your phone solve your storage issue?
More Storage
From what I understand, I will have superuser rights and that would allow me to delete some of the stock programs to free up space. Is that right?
Help
Is there anyone out there willing to help with this issue? It would be greatly appreciated.
This Sucks
Ummmm Wow! I thought I would get some help with this, but I guess not. I guess I'll try another site.
Take it easy, look up your device in the forums and look for how to root.
It's not that hard to do and most devices have a manual how to.
Take a look at this:

Thank you
Thank you krt. That is exactly what I needed. Thanks again.
hi folks, i used to come to this forum all the time back in the day when i had my original G1 and then my HD2 and other phones (i dropped off the face of the planet and also forgot my password to my old account, the captcha system is horrendous BTW)
my question is is there any root options and custom rom options for the motorola DROID PRO (verizon)/XPRT (sprint?) -- YES, i've searched and any information i've found is pretty old and seems outdated. i rather not risk bricking my phone with something that no long works. so if someone could pretty please point me in the right direction i would appreciate it so much.
other questions: if rooting is possible on my droidpro -- what custom roms can i use on it?
thank you so much for any help you send my way.
Hello All, (and Eugene), I am happy to be a part of XDA now, I've been reading the forums for quite awhile trying to learn. I'm self-taught and most of this still reads like greek to me. I've been trying to root my phones for over a year. I'm tired of buying expensive phones that takes no time to mess up then the yahoo's (not the website..lol) send me refurbished phones even if its been only a couple of weeks. Anyway if anyone is here in the Atlanta GA area I'd be willing to pay to get my phone rooted and install a new ROM. I've bought countless apps only to not be able to use them because of now room. Even when I delete everything the phone will say running low on space. Someone please help, thank you so much in advance. Please contact me @ ***@yahoo.com.

And did a factory reset. When I did this, of course it had reactivation lock on, asking me to login to the Samsung account last used on device. of course I don't have, because well I bought the phone thinking I was getting a good deal :/ anyways, like I said im definitely new to all of this and to my understanding although it was a SPRINT device, it is possible to convert it to be used with a TMOBILE sim card and service.. I was told that rooting the device was what I needed to do inorder to use my TMOBILE service on the device. Which is exactly what ive been searching these forums and trying to get a straight answer on how to. Now the next problem is, I decided to check the IMEI and as you may have guessed, yes is indeed bad. It says reported lost/stolen. I know this also is only another hurdle on my road to happiness. Now, my question is, How do I go about flashing to a new IMEI, rooting my device, and going gsm to become tmobile compatable??? Please help somebody, thanks for reading all this I really am in a pickle and really don't want to be out the 300$ I paid for the phone. thanks
Hello Dear ,

Hi guys.
I'm hoping someone can point me in the right direction.
I've recently broken the screen of my Xperia (sucks) so I went into town and purchased about the only cheap decent phone available which just so happened to be network locked to boost/telstra (Australia).
Seems a soft network unlock option is available through third party websites but I figured why not try my hand at rooting the phone and loading a default android ROM onto it (I hope I have that terminology correct).
So the phone type is in the description and I cant seem to find anything that will help me out in rooting it.
Kingo/iRoot both seem to fail and I cant find a forum or really any information on this phone anywhere online.
I'm hoping someone may be able to help me out - ultimately the end goal is to remove the network lock and maybe if possible remove the bloatware.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

PS. I did find this post here https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1319257 ~ No idea if this is what I should be doing. Again, any help is appreciated.

Greetings and welcome to assist. Yes that thread should be fine for rooting your device but rooting it will not normally network unlock your device. As far as I am aware the only way to network unlock it is from the carrier
