S22 Ultra 256GB (unlocked).
Since the March update I can't use my phone in any computer or Android head unit (Windows complains the device is not recognizable and in my car it constantly loops between charge and no charge).
Phone functions normally. Charges normally (when plugged to a charger).
But I can't get it to be recognized in download more or any other USB mode (MTP, File, etc.).
I've tried multiple computers, usb cables, and have installed all possible versions of Samsung drivers.
Is there any other mode that I can place the phone for a full flash of firmware, or Samsung service is the only option for me? (Besides eventually waiting for a new OTA update...)
Thanks,
anthonws.
p.s. Already did a factory reset and it naturally stays the same (the fact download mode was also affected indicated that doing so would not matter).

***SOLVED****I have a Samsung Galaxy Skyrocket 2 SGH-I727, rooted on gb 2.3.5. It has been working flawlesly for months. All of a sudden, when I connected the device to power I was UNABLE to shut it down. I would slelect shut down and it would REBOOT itself instead of staying shut down and showing the BATTTERY ICON charging. Also suddenly I could not access the device as a mass storage from windows. Windows would say device not recognized. After researching for hours I came across one idea the did the trick. The problem was simple. The USB connector "tongue" inside the USB adapter in the phone apparently got bent somehow. This precented the USB cable connecting in from making contact with all the wires inside and THAT caused the 2 problems mentioned in the title. I took a very thin micro flat head screwdriver, GENTLY CAREFULLY put a little pressure on the USB tongue inside the phone's USB adapter and voila!...I could shut down the phone while connected to power, Windows again regognized the device. Who wold have thunk it?
For any of you who come across this, and I saw MANY MANY, not only for GS2 but for MANY andriod devices, and many failed "solutions", here is the answer!...
Have fun.
I think I have a similar problem.
Until two weeks phone was working perfectly fine. Then realized that the battery was getting drained in about 4-6 hours even when idle with no apps running, sometimes battery charge dropped like 15% in a moment, it didn’t indicate charging when connected to power though battery got charged and sometimes it indicated as charging when not connected to power. Phone could not be detected when connected to PC. Also, if I connected to PC after shutting it down, it automatically rebooted. This was weird.
Then when battery was fully dead and I connected to power, it tried to boot but immediately shutdown saying ‘low battery’ and again tried to boot… it was stuck in this loop.
I thought it might be android issue so flashed it with UCKK6 Kernel + Rooted System Package ((Thanks to creepyncrawly’s Download Repository)
But now, it still is not detected by the PC. It boots automatically when connected to PC after shutting down, but not when connected to wall power.
Cleaned the micro USB connecter, tried different cables and laptops.
Earlier Android: Version 2.3.6; Baseboard Version I777UCKK6; Kernel Version 2.6.35.7
After Flashing: Version 2.3.6; Baseboard Version I777UCKK6; Kernel Version 2.6.35.7
Pls I I tried to flash cm rom 12.1 on sgh 1727 skyrocket and it stuck on patching system image unconditionally n it stays there forever please what can I do?
I'm trying to transfer like 30 gigs of photos off my Honor 6x, but when I plug the phone into the computer, nothing happens. The phone charges, but it doesn't give any sort of option to connect. I've tried this on several computers and had the same results every time.
I haven't "rooted" my phone or anything.
I have the latest software updates.
Why isn't my phone connecting to my computers?
All my other phones I just plug them in, they give me an option to connect as a media device, and then it shows up on the computer where I can download the files.
Thank you.
It acts like that since first time you used it or not?
1- Did you unlocked the screen?
2- Have you set up MTP properly? Check storage settings.
Also make sure you use usb cable with data lines (not from powerbank )
I tried plugging my S8+ into a cheap Chinese projectors Usb port (where I'd normally put thumbdrives with movies). The projector froze and told me it was not supported after a min or so. Since then I cannot connect to my Pc (that I've been connected to dozens of times). Windows give me a device not recognized. Also can't connect to my Rams Android Auto anymore (it just doesn't see the phone through Usb either). I've made sure I'm set to MTP and USB debugging enabled. I even went as far as Factory Resetting the phone. To no dice.... any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
Hello,
Been using Xiaomi MI 9 SE for couple years, it was rooted, had flashed TWRP & EU rom, everything worked perfectly, until one day screen got damaged.. After screen got damaged I rebooted phone, failed to enter startup password alot of times, so phone did factory reset :/ After that I took phone to the repair shop and after they replaced screen, problems started.
After factory reset I noticed that it's not EU rom anymore, now it was global version (as it was when I bought that phone brand new) and couple versions newer (MIUI 12, previously had MIUI 10), so I wanted to flash EU, but TWRP wasn't there anymore aswell. Rebooted into bootloader, "sudo fastboot devices" returned nothing, "lsusb" - my phone isn't listed (like USB cable would be connected without anything attached to it). After couple days, while charging, I got prompt message telling me that "charging is slow, check the cable...", so tried different cables, different chargers, still charging slowly and still not recognized as USB in bootloader mode. Also tried another computer with Windows 10, Device manager isn't showing my phone, and there isn't even any sound as USB device connected.
When phone boots normally, I can easily connect it to my computer for file transfering and adb also works flawlessly, lsusb shows my device perfectly. Tried "fastboot devices" with another Xiaomi phone, works good.
So at this moment I'm pretty sure that neither computer, nor USB cable are bad/damaged, but the phone itself, the only thing I don't know is what's exactly damaged in the phone.. Hardware, software?
I was thinking that USB/Charger board inside phone could be damaged, but if it works with adb and file transfering, wouldn't my assumption be incorrct? Is it possible that it's software related problem? Or does USB/charger board behave differently when phone is booted in bootloader mode or connected to the charger? Any ideas to fix it?
I have same problem on mi 9 did u find solution? Ive changed charging board cable for charging board to mainboard and nothing
My samsung galaxy s7 (SM-G930F) that was installing LineageOS 18.1 is stuck in a bootloop and I can not get into recovery or pretty much do anything. I can however get into download mode, but the phone is not recognized by USB connection. (From what I read online a year ago, this maybe a hardware issue with some samsung s7 phones. It has not worked for a while for me and I upgrade/update using the phone's hard drive or micro-SD card.) Is there a way to install/get in recovery without a USB connection (since the USB is not recognized). The USB connection does power the device so the issue is likely with the connection and data transfer part of the USB. I have tried other cables and computers and computer ports.
Can I flash a new recovery without USB? Is there any other option? Currently, the phone goes into boot (after the logo) and then keeps on the boot/install into lineage bubble from right to left and does not finish. I don't know if this means that the bootloader is corrupted.
I can get into "Download" mode, but because I can not connect by USB, I can not install a new recovery (unless there is some other option available).
I have/had a similar issue. To the best of my knowledge, you need the USB connector.
My USB port was broken because my meathead self somehow broke the contacts on the USB connector. I'd been using wireless charging to charge it in the meantime.
Replacing the usb connector through the back (soldering a new one on) isn't too bad a feat, and you don't have to mess with the notoriously fragile display at all. Here's a youtube video example
