Mi pad 5 handwriting in search bar - General Topics

I bought a Mi Pad 5 Chinese rom and flashed it to Global rom MIUI V14.0.3. I noticed that in the global rom I can't use handwriting with the pen in search bars like chrome, like I did in the Chinese rom version.
Is it possible to enable handwriting recognition in various text entry fields where the keyboard pops up?

Any way to pull chinese imes from the taiwan transformer?

I've been trying to find a good chinese pinyin and stroke ime for the transformer but none of the current IME solutions offer a good way to do handwriting input properly. As i was looking through the stock asus keyboard's options i noticed a bunch of additional languages including chinese pinyin and handwriting. The US version doesnt seem to have these available but would the WW version have it perhaps?

just checked my WW model (UK), it doesn't have chinese pinyin/handwriting either..
there's a chinese mandarin voice ime but i doubt that would work well...
just fyi..as for chinese IME in general, Sogou pinyin input is always my personal favourite and its PC version is the most popular IME in China..
there's a version for honeycomb already..
You can get it off the official website: http://shouji.sogou.com/download1.php,
the link for AndroidPad is : http://61.135.130.23/download/androidpad_1.0_sweb.apk
great keyboard layout to fully take advantage of hc's big screen..and it's got Pinyin (2 different keyboard layouts), Bihua (stroke) and Handwriting!...it also updates the dictionary every so often to download the latest chinese vocabulary...it understands the chinese grammar very well thanks to the data collected from its massive user base in China.
attached some screenshots
Looks great i'll check that out, now for the handwriting half of the equation

ICS: Dock Keyboard input language is always English

Hi,
After I have installed ICS, I cannot use any other input language with the hardware keyboard. It is always English. No matter what keyboard I select: Android (Russian), Smart Keyboard or whatever I have english letters appear on key presses. On Honeycomb I had ASUS Keyboard which allowed to switch language using Ctrl-Space combination. Now I don't have the ASUS keyboard anymore. Have anyone been successful in typing non-English on the dock keyboard?

I have already made a quick hack keyboard to produce russian characters on dock keyboard key presses and switch to english using Ctrl-Space. It should be pretty straight forward to add other european languages if some one would like me to. Chinese, Japanese and Korean is tough and I have no plans to support them.
If anyone is interested, here is the hacked by me standard ICS android keyboard, which allows to type both russian and english on Transformer's dock keyboard. Left_Ctrl+Space changes layout. All other features should work correctly - soft keyboard, voice input...

Note Pro Keyboard

I was wondering if someone would tell me if Samsung improved on the stock Samsung keyboard. On the Note 10.1 2014 edition, when using the Samsung keyboard for handwriting it would switch back to the thumb keyboard every time I change fields. There was also no way to set the handwriting panel as the default input method (every time I needed to input information the Samsung keyboard presents me with the thumb keyboard and I would have to manually select the handwriting panel).

Huawei Mate 10 Lite Keyboard

I just purchased a Huawei Mate 10 Lite or Nova 2i here in Asia. It replaced my old Asus Zenfone 2.
My problem is that the keyboard is very different from my old one. This Mate 10 Lite / Nova 2i got Swift Keyboard pre-installed.
On my Zenfone2, I can swipe the letter up to use capitals or swipe the letter down to use punctuation. I dont like the feature to swipe to different letters to form a word because I dont always use english to send a message.
I hope someone could suggest a keyboard that I can download in playstore with the features Swipe up to Capital and Swipe Down for punctuation.

TouchPal keyboard Android 11

Hello guys.I have mi 10t lite.Until today I was using TouchPal 2015 keyboard, which has t9 layout instead of the qwerty which gboard has.Tonight I've updated my phone to the newest miui version.(bad decision). So my good old keyboard stopped working. Is there a workaround?I want either a new keyboard with Phonepad layout,or simply to make this old good app to work with this new updates.Any info would be much appreciated..
Same issue here
Go to Themes on MIUI and search for "font", then change System Font for the Phone. it will restart the phone. Then install Touchpal version "TouchPalv5-5.6.7.4" (which is the best for me, without ads). u can use it
I decided to go back to Android 12 on my S20 FE and after a few other smaller updates since, it has been more stable and the battery life is actually better. I still miss my Touchpal keyboard though. Any ideas what I can do to get it going? I also keep a copy of 5.6.7.4 on my phone. Thanks.
I have a Poco X 3 Pro with ArrowOS ROM installed. since android 12 the send button in touchpal doesn't respond anymore. Is there a solution to fix this?
Check out 'Old T9 Keyboard'. It is a good T9 keyboard that I have been using for some time now.
It has predictive text, multi language support and some cool themes.
