Question Will the A53 get custom roms? - Samsung Galaxy A53 5G

One ui is a mess in this phone so I was wondering if there will be any future rom development for this phone or perhaps someone is already developing a rom?

Thought there already was, has been, and is based on some of the posts around here. Could all be faked I suppose lol.
I can't anyway as I use Samsung's SmartTags. Total annoyance. I'd probably port Lineage myself if it wasn't for that although I'd more likely have not bought another Samsung however.

Original Jelly Bean

I've found a lot of unofficial Jelly Bean ROMS that partially works but I can't find the official Google ROMS nowhere, why xda don't have and official google ROM thread or something.
I know you have to compile it and that kind of things but I don't know why we don't keep posted the original google releases without extras.
I get curious to benchmarking google ROMS and AOSP ROMS and see the difference.

You have not understood me or I have not explained well
I know you can download the ROM source but I mean to keep it compiled somewhere. Because we only have tuned ROMs and not the original.
I just want to compare ROMS.
Cant wait for this to come out for my S3....

You can't just take a ROM compiled from source an throw it on any phone to compare it...it doesn't work that way.

So then what do you mean you want to compare them? What is there to compare on one phone? Changelogs are also available from Google between versions of Android. And in the Nexus forums there are factory images available for going back to stock. You are jumping around quite a bit here.

You can't do that
Devs make roms so they can be compatible and functional on the device they are building for you can't just use Google's and put it on any phone because those are just for the official updates

sadly it doesn't work this way it takes time for devs from different devices to make working full builds

Cool, I already have 7.0 running on my development/test device (Moto G 2015). X should be soon I'd think!
It is also available for the Moto G 2014 both titan and thea models, but none are stable enough for a DD ROM as of yet... patience, it will come.

Clark disappointed me in the support/development area. TruPureX (was my DD) was the best ROM, which is stock based. A few AOSP roms came close but they all had a glitch here and there. Lenovo's stock rom disappointed me as well. It was choppy as hell. It felt extremely unoptimized.

Will lineageOs support the pixel 2?

Does anyone know if the above is going to happen in the near future ?
Thank in advance
The code is public it's easy to see that they do have code for Walleye haven't built.it yet but I'm willing to bet it would run if you tried. So far no one but me has bothered to build a ROM for the Pixel 2. But it's not really that hard give it a shot. https://github.com/LineageOS/android_device_google_muskie?files=1

It is kinda sad that there are virtually no custom roms for this phone. I know the whole 2 partitions thing and I dont even pretend to know how that all works but the Pixel 2 XL has what now three custom roms? I know some of them are testing but at least there is progress.
it's in the works just be patient custom roms will come. In the meantime i have been enjoying stock and gravitybox.

Finally one is built in dev section

No rom development so far ?

I where just thinking why there isn't any development done yet, like on the other phones. Next day there would be a custom rom out there to try and use.
But with this Oneplus 6, it seems like i paused. I have been playing around with treble, and i have never done any dev and can't get things to work either. So i have to wait on the others to come out with something.
Does anyone know if there is something coming soon ?

give it time qc havent dropped the full sources yet i know of 2 roms and 2 kernels in testing stage and we all ready have one rom and 2 kernels alot has changed with this treble and making it harder for devs
We don't even have an official TWRP yet plus the A/B partition is making it difficult.

Oh how I love these threads a week and a half after launch lol ok here's the thing treble isn't the culprit. If anything treble teases us with roms that have about an 80% chance of working lol. The real reason is.... Qualcomm hasn't dropped source yet for the 845. And also the Seamless updates(AB) is gonna be a small problem. But the fact we already have twrp working and things are about to get started is kinda exciting. But honestly it will come alot faster then the other devices with sd845. This device is a Dev magnet lol and OnePlus is one if not the best at releasing source and back to stock roms. So don't fret bro the device has only been out for a few weeks lol. Go boot Cosmic OS with treble. It's pretty fun to play with.

No there will never be any ROMs, there will be no support ever.....
Sent from my ONEPLUS A6003 using Tapatalk
Lol. First, the device is very new. Wait for the Dev support.
Secondly, no ETAs for anything. A thumb rule for XDA.
It's an OnePlus after all. Wait for it, development would start soon.
There is no device tree yet published by OnePlus. Only kernel sources. So it's just the waiting game
The device is still very new and most of the devs just got hands on it. Seeing two kernel, unofficial twrp and a custom debloated rom is pretty impressive considering the facts of A/B partition, project treble and not full sources dropped yet.

rooting the note 20 ultra US version question

I am thinking about paying the 150 bucks to do the root for the US snapdragon note 20 but is the development there for it? Like would i be able to do the same things as the Exynos version? Would there be any point to doing it for the US version?

Thanks, yeah I read it and thats how I found out about it but it didn't say whether we'd be able to flash the rooms for the exynos versions and what not which is why I wasn't sure whether or not the development would be there for the US version yet until a free version came out
You can only flash roms for your device. If you have a U you can only flash U/U1 roms.

Awesome! Thanks for your help guys! I think I'm gonna go ahead and go through with it
I am going to guess that there is going to be very little development for custom roms now or anytime in the future. Things have changed a lot in the last few years and devlopment for custom roms has really fallen by the wayside (there has been some custom rom development, just not very much) (I am not complaining really - just stating a fact.) if you are considering doing this Root thing - I hope for your sake that it will be worth the cost - considering the low amount of development you can expect. Look at the minimal amount of development has happened for Exynos Note 20's - and that rooting option is totally free.

You are not stating a fact, you are stating your opinion and literally worded it as a guess. The custom ROM community depends on the device. Models like OnePlus will always have more development because of their nature, while Samsung and others will have less; however, the little that is available for the Ultra right now is not because custom ROMs are dead lol it's because the phone has been out for like a month. It takes time to do these things.

My guess on the reason for the VPN is because they have an app possibly that can unlock the bootloader but it needs to see that the phone is in HK in order to work otherwise there'd be no reason for the VPN..
