Refer to my previous comments, need more information to the issues and how you got to softbrick. Which guide, is the guide suited to your particular phone eg a/b device vs a only, are you trying to flash a super partition to a super partition or a system image to a super partition via fastboot?
If your not willing to go in to depth into what's happening to how you brick your device, then please stop asking for help, as we cannot help you when we don't know the details of the issue.
Clearly it's only soft-bricked and not hard-bricked.
And if its not your first time installing GSI then the process doesn't change. There a plenty of guides out there.
Simple solution is dsu sideloader to which you will not have to worry about soft bricking your device

Again, how what is the error. Just telling me it fails does not provide us the information to help you.
If you are not willing to give the information, please stop asking for help, I will not ask for it again.
You are not providing anything. You are asking for help, and it could be that the guide does actually work, and it is a user input error.
So I will ask for the last time to which If you do not respond with full details of what you are doing step by step, with screenshots and the exact error and the exact commands you have used then I will not be responding as I cannot help you.
So provide the details of exactly what you have done, exactly the commands you have entered (all in one screenshot of terminal is acceptably fine) the exact error, and anything else you think maybe important.
I will not just go and get a full detailed step by step as all gsi are different, most GSI are easier to install with working custom recovery, and are you following the basic GSI rules eg is the system image you are trying to flash the same size or smaller then what is on your phone?
So please provide everything I am asking for, and if not then I will not be replying, someone else may, but we do not have the time to find a needle in a haystack as to what your problem is.
I do not have the time to try the guide and F**K around with my phone OS at this present time and most people won't as who is to say that the guide will work for me, which then still leaves the solution coming down to you providing information so that we can actually help you and find out why it's not working.
I have problem i installed lineage os gsi 20 with dsu and IT works perfectly but when installed same image installed with fastboot IT will stuck on boot can Anyone help me?

I have tried the one click solutions and I'm getting nowhere. Even the shady ones don't work. Is there any word on rooting this tablet?
I just got my DL7006 and haven't gotten rooting to work either with the mainstream one-click root systems. Am trying to go the ADB shell route now, but I need to find the TWRP image (whatever that is). I'm a LINUX/UNIX person and I find this Android stuff REALLY frustrating.
I'm also looking for TWRP for DL8006. Unlocking the bootloader was easy.
I've unlocked the boot loader and nothing works either. I have the firmware sent to me directly from Digiland, but even with SP flash and MTK tools I can't seem to get anywhere. I'm no pro, that's a fact, but I've managed to gain root privilege on many devices that mainstream one clicks won't work on. This sucker just won't give up the ghost! If anyone can do anything with the FW I'd be happy to share it. If u make any progress all I ask is share the hell out of it!!

If you have the opportunity to send that my way I can give it a shot because this is the tipping point of purchasing to see if it had root, and it is something i really want

See if those work. They are the 2 digiland sent. Keep me posted please!
So there is an unofficial TWRP for one of the 2 firmwares for the dl7006 on the TWRP builder page. I submitted both boot.img files. I can't get it to work. Maybe someone else can.

I'll share the relevant guides that has helped me.
If you want me, or a personalized "guide" for your process, I'll be okay with that, un;ess you wanna totally geek out.
(There are multiple guides, depending on what your encounter, and to use some aspects of the tools)
I can already tell you that this can be a 1-3 hour process to learn and perform, and that the guides will not 100% represent all that you need to do, but 90%.
Note that you just need Wwr_MTK tool, the template for it, SP Flash TOOL and the vcdrom drivers the guide links to! Oh and, an account. That's needed to download files from hovatek.
https://forum.hovatek.com/thread-21970.html
https://forum.hovatek.com/thread-22701.html (If in following the first guide, and you encounter "DRAM FLIP TEST"
https://forum.hovatek.com/thread-526.html (Skip to step 7-21, the first guide redirects here on how to use readback. Mediatek tools no longer works, which is why you should ignore that thread mostly.)
With this, you can eventually get the boot.img of your tablet, which should then be patched with the magisk app (doesn't matter where, just get the patched boot.img), then you can use SP flash tool to flash the boot.img and get root! This can also be used to help build your own custom rom, kernel, and even recovery, with a semi automatic process.

There are plenty of guides available here on XDA for you to read. It's up to you to read and learn but until you are confident then I suggest you don't flash anything to avoid making a mess of things.

Only way to learn is to do. The guides are all pretty clear, but don't assume what you know on previous phones applies here as some things are different. Follow the instructions exactly and you should be fine.
This will get you unlocked: https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=76564289&postcount=4 (ignore the rest of that thread - some information is out of date)
This will get you trwp and root: https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-6/how-to/guide-how-to-install-official-twrp-t3801558
Then follow the installation instructions for whatever rom you want.

Only people who lost wifi were ones who did something wrong and wound up booted into the wrong slot. If you follow the guides exactly, it won't happen.
I have not seen a single issue with efs mentioned by anyone yet.
Hello, I want to install official android 12 GSI ROM on my device (Mi A2). I have stock ROM installed on my device and I want to install it by following the official installation instructions. I doubt my device will work with official installation instructions, but my device is fully treble supported. Will my device work in this case? The only answer to this question will be to do this, but I'm afraid of bricking my device.
Everyone can answer you. Not means that he answer you because he knows the answer since he born !
He had search, read & get knowledge.
It always recommended to read about Gsi carefully before install it on your device if you fear bricking then find out on your responsibility.
Hope you got me.

Thanks, then I'll have to take the risk. If the GSI does not boot I will install the stock ROM. I haven't reset it to factory reset since I bought it. Or I will buy a Pixel device to avoid dealing with all this, but Google Pixel devices are not sold in Turkey.

Just because your device is treble compatible doesn't mean it supports new Android versions. Did you check if it supports new versions?

It doesn't matter which chip it is. It matters what version the phone was released with and whether it supports future GSI releases.

There's probably this reason behind it: The kernel, Vendor etc of the stock rom is 32 bit only. Unfortunately there is no 32 bit gsi image. I tried finding some 64 bit OS for my device but there is none

After researching I was wrong but 32 bit vendor just so interesting
@LazCoder
Your phone's SoC is 64-bit.
You will need to recompile your entire ROM as 64 bit, then flash the GSI
GSIs will need the vendor and kernel and well everything else to be 64 bit

Hey Folks!
I got into trouble and need serious help with my cat s42, android 11.
I had looking for ways to root that device and find few articles about it, all of them saying needed to unlock bootloader. I did it from my linux box and adb/fastboot. What I don't knew it that it's not reversible, I cannot lock it again. The warning said that if proceed, I will need to reinstall the OS.
I really need root privileges once it's full of feature creep but now I'm trapped with magisk (v 23010) and latest kingoroot don't working with the device. It's bootloader is unlocked and device have some instabilities, catterpillar do not provide stock rom or any assistance in the case (shame on it).
So, what can I do? Can anybody give me directions of some procedure that work here? Lost my phone??
Thanks in advance!!!

Sorry for the late reply happy new year!
When you are going to flash a gsi for the firstime on a device always flash the gsi by phh treble because all other gsi are based on his.
flash that then see if everything works once you have done that look for a other gsi that u might like there arent many that get updated reguarly but i believe linage os does get updated regurally best try that one.
so flash a gsi and then right after magisk in twrp in your case that is not going to work because you dont have a custom recovery so you are going to be needing adb fastboot.
Didnt you ask this on a another forum called highonandroid ?
Thank you mstrnemo and Happy 22!
No, I didn't ask other forums, just searching to something to flash that device...
But you give me some clues to do that, I'll read about treble. I need phone, camera, and gps working and have to see it before flashing, that's the point.
Sorry if im not more helpfull but my knowledge of flashing a gsi is limited i only succesfully did it once.
in your case with no development for your device gsi is really your only option.
Edit: good luck !!! if you do end up doing it let me know i am curious about the results.

I was under the impression my phone was compatible and began the install instructions for LineageOS after unlocking my phone through this guide. I flashed the two partitions, flashed the recovery, attempted to boot into recovery and it gets stuck on boot. After attempting to ask the LineageOS community I realized Verizon's version is not supported, woo. I then tried to follow the unlock guide to flash back the stock image and Msm fails on Param preload with the error "Device not match image." Googling that I only found someone implying they were using the incorrect global image, however, I know I'm not. Is it possible to recover my phone now and if so, how?
LineageOS is a base ROM for many other custom ROMs such as crDroid. Try using their recoveries and installation guides; crDroid worked perfectly in the past.

I'm waiting for the phone to recharge now before attempting. I feel like it will fail however as the crDroid steps require you having stock 11 on "both slots." I am too new to this scene to understand what that means or if I can even do that anymore.

Thank you for the resource. I will attempt this instead once I can. I see that it makes a very important note about copying slot a to b to prevent potential hard-bricks. Since the "official" guide I started with did not mention that before I attempted going down this route, does this mean I'm ruined anyways? I only flashed 2 "boot" images and then the recovery image when this happened. This is all because I was using 19.1 without realizing that a) it's A12 and b) one of the maintainers said the Verizon version wasn't supported. Seeing as I can grab the last 18.1 from the link you provided me, maybe there's hope after all.
