I'm looking for a new phone with these options (probably sticking with Android):
External Micro-SD slot (the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra doesn't have one )
Wireless Charging
3.5mm jack that works as a microphone or headphone jack... I actually really want to find a way to listen to playback audio on headphones at the same time I'm using the microphone to record directly via input jack or via phone's microphone as to be able to record and compose multitrack music demos. I know people do this but I can't find out how.
Removable battery if possible (knowing this is highly unlikely but just throwing it out there

hello everyone,
I hava a t-mobile MDA compact iv (htc touch diamond) and listen to music through my earbuds often. Now i developed a deafness in one ear due to a benign tumor near my hearing nerve. Therefore when i listen to stereo music i can only use one earbud and thus miss out on one channel.
I cannot use a simple adapter jack-plug because my phone doesn't have a normal jack.
So here's my question. Is it possible to write a simple app that will combine both channels to a mono signal, so i can hear both in one ear?
I think more people would like it because they often only use one earbud to keep one ear free. I used to do that at work before i turned deaf on my right side.

these are the droids you are looking for
Thanks Rudegar,
Maybe i wasn't quit clear on this, my phone (like htc touch diamond) does not have a 3.5mm jack. It only has a mini-usb and needs the original headphones with a mini-usb connector. So thanks for the effort but these cables or adapters just won't help.
What i could do is use one adapter to go from mini-usb to 3.5mm jack, and then use another adapter (like the ones you just showed) to convert it to mono. But then i would either extend my phone by at least 2 inches or my cable would become a lot longer. That is a solution of course but not very practical. I have looked into these options and in my opinion an app like i asked about would be the most practical solution. So, if anyone can help. please...
it don't have a pure miniUSB converter it have extUSB
which is usb pins plus normal audio pins all extUsb -> 3.5mm converters work

Thanks again Rudegar, but i'd rather have a small app to do the trick. I think it must be possible, just don't know how. So if anybody can help.

Not sure of any specific PPC application to do what you want but instead of say having an adapter you could just batch recode your music to mono before transfer to phone many freeware apps on the market to do this.
Coreplayer allows you to play your music in mono. Go to Tools\Settings\Audio and set 'Stereo mode' to 'Mono Join'
thanx, i'll try that.
Hi guys,
I know there were several threads about this theme, but I thought it might be a good idea to have a summary after almost a year that the device is on the market. I love my I9000, but...
I would like to have a docking station for my Samsung I9000 int. edition just like so many beautiful ones for iPhone. Is there anything similar available on the market which would work as simple as iPhone docking stations: you plug your phone in, choose your music and you get a decent sound from the speakers on the docking station. I was not able to find one. Any help?
It would not hurt if it did the charging at the same time.
What would be in your experience the best solution for this? I would not mind connecting sound line through 3.5 mm jack plug, but what is in your opinion the best solution for < 100 €/$/UK pounds?
Thanks for any advice/help/suggestions...
Pavana
i know that there is the one where u connect it to the micro usb slot but I dont know if it will work fro Galaxy s
A docking station is so early 2000s.
And Samsung made it hard for everyone by putting the usb slot on top of the phone.
Just to re-activate the thread:
I must admit, I am so 2000-ish that I would like to have a docking station (potentially with a loudspeaker that does more than just krrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrk ) and
this is the only thing I envy those iPhone guys who I can not stand.
So, once again: any suggestions for a dockingstation with some kind of a decent music outcome. Must not be for I9000, but should be usable with I9000 giving decent sound for not more than 60-70 USD (if it is more, than I might just get one from B&O or any other highly-priced that you would kindly suggest).
Regards,
Pavana
You'll have a hard time finding one of those for the i9000/android phones. Best way is to buy this cable and get any cheap iphone/ipod dock
Where I can buy orginal docking station in good price of course?
There's no such thing as a "original docking station" for the Galaxy S.
OK, we got all screwed up with samsungs stupid headphone jack on the top side. But, amongst ourselves we can exchange experience about what is the best combination: We know that we have to charge the batteries independently from music playing. Among all the docking stations, who has good experience with which type of the docking station for the quality of music output when we hook up independently power supply and audio output. Is there any any good Bose system that give GOOD sound output (every power supply will eventually fulfill the function). Do we have to go for the expensive Bose system or are there any (closely) adequate loudspeaker systems which we can hook up to our i9000 to give us good music at home (Sennheiser headphones should do the trick on the go)?
In another words: I have decent Sennheiser earphones for listening to the music from my I9000, but, when it comes to home/lousspeaker system which one would you recommend I can hook up my I9000 to get a decent audio output ? (if you are suggesting Bose systems - which would would you recomennd?).( I do understand that there are no I9000 only docking stations that would give good acoustic output and charge the battery simoultaneously, but I can hook up the battery charger independently of the music output).
As for my earphones - I have a model that has only ear-loudspeakers but no microphone for answering phone - which model would you recommend in order to be able to answer my phone through a microphone on the speaker as well?)
Regards,
Pavana

the original samsung desktop dock exists...
Hi Guys!
This desktop dock can be ordered at Amazon:
Being a noobsta I can't insert the link, so search for:
"Samsung Galaxy S T-Mobile T959 Vibrant Desktop Dock Cradle in Retail Packaging" in google or on amazon.
And actually I could buy it at an official Samsung retailer here in Hungary, so it should be available in other places as well.
There is a truly crap official Samsung App for it, but it is useless.
On the other hand there is an App on the market called Galaxy Dock Sound Redirector.
Once again no link from me, but you can find the app on the market.
The dock has a micro usb for charging and a jack output for audio and with this great app you can redirect the sound to go through the analogue output at the back of the dock.
However now, since I've flashed to ICS 4.0.3 (I9000_STOCKPLUS_ICS_RC4-PLUS) I can't use the app. There is an error message saying "Cannot find supported rom or kernel". I contacted the dev and got the info that it should work on Glitch kernel. I'm still not sure what ICS ROM and kernel combo I should be using so the app is not working yet.
Anyone who has the recipe could share it with us...
Oh and another thing: the usb port on the dock can only be used for charging. You can't connect to PC with it. I donno if this a hardware or software issue, but it would be great if you could truly dock to the PC. Anyone with an experience?
The docked SGS looks really good on your desk
Does anyone know where to source such a beast?
In case it's not clear, what I want is a cable with a 3.5mm jack on one end - which you plug into the phone - and a 3.5mm socket on the other end - into which you plug your own headphones. In the middle, a mic, call answer button, and music control buttons.
I would've thought such a thing would be trivial to find, but it's not. For me, anyway. No matter what I put into eBay I can't find one that says it'll work for Android / our phone - I can find ones for the iPhone, but I don't know if they'd work on the Doubleshot / Android.
Anyone? thanks! I do *not* want a full headset with its own earphones - I have much better ones of my own I want to use.
You could try searching up an aux cable + mic for cars (eg. that Griffin one)
and combine it with a 3.5mm stereo female to female adapter
I guess that would work...it'd be nice to have something a bit less cumbersome, though. Thanks for the idea though!
The video cable I use for tv-out is an iPod video cable - if that helps.
thanks, blue - the thing I'm worried about is the music controls; I don't think Android and iPhone use the same system for those. Note that Klipsch make two different versions of their s4 headset, one for iPhone and one for Android - if both used the same controls then presumably there'd be no reason to do that...
I would take a lok at the Motorola S805, its a big earmuff dj style bluetooth that has playback controls on it.
Via bluetooth I can confirm it can play, pause, volume, next track and previous track controls. It also has a 3.5mm stereo jack in case you dont want to deal with bluetooh, but I dont actually have a 3.5mm cable to test it out on.

That's probably good thinking - i'll confess I have no clue how iOS handles anything. If you find out for sure one way or the other please let us know back here.
Good luck!
Elister: yeah, bt is one obvious option - I actually have a bt adapter, and bt music controls are standardized (it's one of the official bt profiles) so you can more or less rely on them working. But the drawbacks are that bt audio reduces quality somewhat, bt link is never as reliable as a cable, and you have extra battery drain on the phone and the bt adapter's battery to charge...just more fiddling around :/
Hello everybody!
I have a Samsung Galaxy Nexus and I've just bought a car without B/T.
I am looking for a Bluetooth device with these 3 things:
1) Easy Hands Free Phone Operation
2) Clear FM Radio Transmitter
3) Built in USB Charger which will output ample power to my SGN, I'm thinking at least 1amp
All I could find is this for 60 bucks:
Amazon.com: GOgroove FlexSMART X3 Bluetooth FM Transmitter with Enhanced Clarity Technology for Wireless Handsfree Calling , Audio / Music Playback , and USB Charging in Your Car or Vehicle ** Includes Micro USB Charger & 3.5mm Audio Cables! **: Elec
If anyone has used this or has any other recommendations/suggestions I'd love to hear from you.
Hi there!
XDA Assist is a place to seek help getting a point in the right direction. Unfortunately it isn't a place for discussion or opinion threads.
But, here is a perfect place to ask such a question, and its not really device specific.... So try here...
> General discussion > Accessories
Or for device specific discussion, try here. Perhaps there's threads already in here to read about Bluetooth for cars as well....
> Samsung Galaxy Nexus > Galaxy Nexus Accessories
Good luck! ?
Hello,
I have already asked this in the A50 forum section, but maybe here in a more general area I could be more lucky.
My son broke the audio jack in the smartphone then tried to remove it in a way I really don't want to know how reducing the smartphone in this way...
The smartphone is ok, but he detect earphones always connected, the only way to use it is using a bluetooth earphones, but I'm wondering if there is a way to disable the jack so I can use the smartphone "normally"...
