Question Revert back to stock rom - Xiaomi Mix Fold 2

I just bought a Xiaomi Fold 2 and it has multi lang. on it and the current MIUI version is 13. I cannot upgrade it to 14 and it also has some freezing problems from time to time.
How can I install the original Xiaomi rom on it ? So the one with only English and Chinese and the one that can be upgraded ota to MIUI14?

What is the full rom name?
Your model is 22061218C, code name zizhan?
These questions, because of the multilanguage, because this model is for the Chinese market and the stock roms are all CN.(Chinese,English).

Thanks for your quick reply
Is my attschment enough for info ?

Stock Rom, can you confirm the model: all specs/model

Check my second attachment

Everything matches.
If you go to update it, check for updates?
The bootloader is locked?

22061218C

Update says "can't download updates"
I had the Xiaomi Fold 2 last year too and after a factory reset that phone and had English language and all the stock Chinese apps.
This Fold 2 has multi language after reset and also has all Google apps installed by default and none of the stock Chinese apps.

Have you tried with WIFI and/or changing regions?
Bootloader?

Yes tried with wifi.
What you mean with change region?
And what is bootloader?

What you mean with change region?
Settings/additional parameters/région
And what is bootloader?
BL lock is short for BootLoader. It is a small program that runs before the operation of the operating system kernel. In an effort to prevent third-party apps from hacking into the three-party batch system and modifying the system configuration file, which may lead to user information leaking, Mi phone has added BL lock. When reinstallation or ROOT is required, the BL lock must be unlocked before the operation can proceed.
If you unlock it you can install the rom you want and relock it.

Thanks and sorry for the dumb questions from my side
Which region should I try ?
And how do I check this bootloader thing?

If you are not at the origin of the unlocking and the device was purchased new, the seller unlocked the bootloader to install Google services and multilanguage, which would explain why you do not receive updates.
By flashing the latest MIUI 14 version, you will have to reinstall everything.

That's no problem to reinstall everything.
How do I do this "flashing to MIUI14" exactly ?

First flash, need help!

Hello Everyone,
a friend brought me a Mate 8 from China and I want to switch from the AL10 version to an international one to get rid of the chinese base and to reintroduce google play and other apps to the phone. I simply dont speak chinese, you know?
The details:
Found Phone : HUAWEI NXT-AL10
Firmware : NXT-C00B197
I managed to unlock bootloader, get a twrp on in and to install SuperUser. The last two was difficult and I used the SRK tool from sonboons.
My first issue - I never could tick the function "unlock OEM" or so, because it is simply not shown in the "Developer Options". Is it ok to ignore that?
My second issue - Which Roms should I load onto my SDCard before wiping and installing them? When I look through the forums it always says something like "Before you flash this, go flash Version B1xx and then B3xx. Which Roms exactly need I flash in order to get from my B197 to a stock rom with google apps or a customized rom where I have google apps, minor optimazations and no bloatware?
If you have suggestions, you have my unlimited gratitude

Hi m8,
Usually C900 is the version of the cust that gets flashed another firmware from another device and messes it up. Was your phone bought from a retailer? Do you have an option to return it and get an replacement?
If not, you can try to flash on it this firmware from C432 cust (it's an global firmware used on many custs on EMUI 9.1) and see if it get's any uodates after you flash it. For info about flashing using dload firmware, see my post about from here #791.

There are 2 options:
1. It was a VOG unit intented to be used by the on-line/offline testers or some reviewers and usually those tests devices has C900 cust (in that case it means NO OTA or other updates);
2. It had another cust and used paid services (as Funky Huawei) to flash firmwares and flashed a wrong one whitch f####d up the cust and without unlocked bootlader you can't change it or rebrand it

Reverting back to "Stock MIUI"

Hello All!
I've dipped my toes in the topic of custom ROMs, but I think It's time to go back to the default. I've got a new Samsung from my work and I'll be selling my POCO F2 Pro.
I've unlocked the phone through Xiaomi Unlocker and installed crDroid. Since I'll be selling this phone, I want to revert back to a "stock" ROM from POCO, and possible - lock back my phone, so the new buyer won't experience any security issues.
Can you help me with this? I'm a bit lost, and I just want to sell this phone as "almost new".
Thank you!
PS. this phone was bought in Spain, so EU ROM I guess?

The region where you bought it does not mean anything, look on the box if it is an EEA or Globlal version.
***download the rom(tgz file) https://xiaomifirmwareupdater.com/archive/miui/lmi/ pick FASTBOOT
download miflash https://xiaomiflashtool.com/
select clean all and lock and Flash rom.
****Open the tgz file and extract the "imi global image folder in the same folder as miflash. Rename the folder without space (ex: MIUI124Eu).
After returning it to its original state, delete the phone from your xiaomi account otherwise the new owner will be blocked.

Question xiaoxin pad 11 pro

Good morning
So I've a xiaoxin pad 11 pro:
Model: tb-j706f
android version: 10
software version: tb-_706f_rf01_201229
ROM: TB-J706F_S240073_201229_ROW
kernel: 4.14.117 from 2020
Widevine: L1
And I whant to update to TB-J706F_S620150_211226_ROW. So my questions are many
-Can i use lenovo sofware to update?
-Do i need to lock or unlock oem bootloader from settings?
-Can only be done using QFIL or other softwares?
-Do i need to find out if it's region lock?
-How to backup this img, if everything goes wrong?
-Do i have to install the original chinese version, or can i just update the international one?
I see alot of threats talking about going from international to chinese, but I like to have play store and keepping widevine lv.1. Without having to do a lot of "work".
I've tried to use the OTA function, but downloads the update (just after my current version) it restart's and gets to the lenovo logo on the screen and reboots. Like a boot loop. I've to manually shutdown the tablet and it's back to normal.
After readding this forum, i still dont see a uniform way to update this device, and more importantly a easy way to do it. Can all of you help me?
- yes
- no
- yes
- even CN versions can be flashed with global rom
- you could still flash an img you download online if something wrongs happen
- it's on your own, if you have L1 with global unless you want latest updates no need to go CN, stay global.
if OTA update doesn't work maybe reset the device or even flash the newest rom available from lolinet then update with OTA.
@melones22 Thanks for the aswers.
Do you know if i download the newest global rom from lolinet, and force install, if i keep my lv1?
if you relock bootloader, likely. personally with natsafety patch + hde etc still l3
be absolute sure that you didn’t modified anything else than flashing before relocking

To flash a ROM you can use QFIL, I never used Lenovo softwaare so I am not sure if you can flash form there only last version or if you have a choice.
Normally you should not be required to use QFIL and you should be able to update with OTA updates.

You should backup QCN with QFIL and all partitions (you can probably exclude vendor and userdata) with QFIL or edl, there is a guide for both methods (I use edl) https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/two-ways-to-backup-tb-j706f-without-unlocking-bootloader.4402799/

You should be able to update your global ROM but since you are having problems I don't exclude you might need to go back to CN ROM before flashing again the Global ROM.

I am not sure what's the problem with your OTA update.
I would suggest to:
Backup your QCN and all partitions first
Open your QCN with QCNView and check the region in NV Item 6858
If your region is 02 is Global and OTA update should work, so maybe try a factory reset and see if after OTA update works.
If it's 00 (region unlocked) or 01 (China) that might be the reason OTA updates are not working.
Edit
I read again the version you have now and it's quite old, that probably does not have any region lock.
In the one tablet I had from the shop with Chinese ROM I flashed TB-J706F_S250260_210804_ROW, that set it as global region and then from that I run OTA updates.
So I think you should backup as I said before and then flash TB-J706F_S250260_210804_ROW, make sure to select the right settings in QFIL and NEVER check "Reset state machine".

Hello.
Thanks @MrCrayon, but i never has able to use qfil to backup my device. To complicated for me. But thanks for the help.
So what i did to update my tablet. After feeling the same way @shaoki92 , i just tried to use lenovo tools. And... puff... update done.
No problems what so ever,
Did not lose L1
And did not have to mess with bootloader or region lock.
But i understand that i took a big risk. The tablet could've become just a paper weight. But until now working fine. With new android and everything.

Hi front3,
May i ask how do you update using lenovo tools ? Thanks
Im no expert that so ever. But i can tell you that i did.
Install lenovo assistance, on windows.
Used the charging cable of the tablet to connect to pc.
Launch the app
Connect to the device via app
(And i dont remember now, but i think its recue my device, and update, inside the app)
The app gives you a warning about using the tool on CH devices, and i took the risk.
Check the firmware version that the app gives you, and what it the lastest that has been deploid. Just to be sure. And do it if you dont mind taking the risk, do it.
In my case, the version that the app recomended has not on lolinet at that time. It only show up there, weeks later. But because the app connects to lenovo servers directly, i think it was safe.
Be careful because you can brick the device. And like @MrCrayon explained, i had one very old firmware, so xiaoxin didnt have the same "security" feactures has the newer devices. So maybe that is why it worked.

Cannot upgrade to 12.5 MIUI

I have a Russian (thanks Amazon !!) Redmi 9a 32Gb/2gb. It is currently running latest 12.0.x ROM version, but i would like to upgrade it to 12.5.
I see on xiaomi ROM site there is currently a 12.5.x version for Russian version, but the OTA never arrived and if i download the recovery zip file and install it manually, it fails verification and stops.
Is there a way to install 12.5 without unlocking the bootloader ?
Is 12.5 supported on this specific redmi 9a ?
thanks !
mmm... spflashtool might work, but Ive only ever used it on a bircked device to unbrick it, never on a functional device to just change the ROM version, but if you really wanna do it without unlocking bootloader thats your best choice.
I will say anyway, its probably safer to unlock bootloader install recovery and install the rom from there, its your call tho.

Right now I cannot unlock the bootloader, maybe in the next months I might try (I want to wait for the warranty to expire). My concern is that my version of Redmi 9A with just 2G of Ram is actually not compatible with MIUI 12.5. The 12.5 rom is actually available, but OTA will leave me in the 12.0 branch and verification fails if I try to install the ROM manually. I would not want to brick it by installing an unsupported ROM.
My phone model is M2006C3LG and the ROM I have right now says I have 1.8Gb of available RAM, I don't think you have a different device from mine.
Im a total n00b so I may be wrong about this next thing, but, I think the only difference is what version of MIUI they were sold with since the hardware doesn't allow downgrades further than the stock ROM that came with the device.
There is always antirollback after MIUI 10, but I think its even further locked for the original stock ROM that came to the device, but yeah, this is all my own speculation due to a bricking incident I faced.
The model number is the same, but the 9A was available with different sizes of RAM 2 or 3 or 4 Gb. Mine is the low end 32/2 which is the model still on sale today. If you still have 1.8 Gb of free RAM you very likely has the 3 or 4 GB model.
Maybe you are right, the OTA allows only for updates within the same MIUi version; I saw several guides on-line and i think i will try the miflash tool and switch to the global version. I have to find a way to unlock bootloader without Xiaomi account (no way in hell I'm signing up for that) and without sim card (this phone is used as a smaller wi-fi only tablet). There are some tools for an offline unlock, I will try those first.
It is incredible how Xiaomi is making it complex just to update to a stable official ROM; given also how much bloatware is shovelled with the stock ROM, I'm not sure I will ever consider Xiaomi again.

Thanks for the info. So you upgraded to latest 12.0 without moving to 12.5, any reason for not trying 12.5 ? The phone is currently barely usable with Android 10, maybe Android 11 is even heavier, but why not give it a try ?
I saw several youtube videos and guides and by using MI Flash with a Fastboot image (scattered tgz) it should be a total reflash of the phone.
