Question Dismiss keyboard button too small on EU ROM? - Xiaomi 13

Anyone got this issue where the dismiss keyboard button is too small?

[Q] "SEND" button in messaging with landscape keyboard

When I used the landscape keyboard to send an SMS message from my Skyrocket, the default layout of the message composition screen has the "attach" button above the "send" button, meaning I can't directly click send. I either have to go "back" to dispose the keyboard to reveal the "send" button, or carefully scroll the narrow view-port above the keyboard to reveal it.
When I used SwiftKey, I believe it had a button on the keyboard that managed to send the message. But I'm trying to use either stock or the ICS port keyboard since SwiftKey's space-bar was too narrow for my fat thumbs.
Is anyone else plagued by this? Any clever solutions?

Lol....
OP: if in landscape mode, after you type your message, hit the BACK soft button.... that will hide keyboard and show the attach option abovd the send option
I will agree that's annoying as hell. Never noticed it bc I don't type in landscape. Thank god I don't.
In landscape hit done and it will send if i remember right
Where is "Done"?

When I used Swype, it had a "Done" button I believe. But I couldn't handle Swype's narrow spacebar. Why doesn't the stock Android 2.3.5 keyboard have a "Done" button, or the back-ported ICS keyboard (shown above)?
This is so frustrating! Seems like just generally poor designing by samsung. The SGS1 didnt have this issue and a part of me wants to pull the API of the messaging off of my Captivate on to my skyrocket. Does anyone know if this is possible

On screen keyboard when Touch Cover is attached??

Can you activate the "on screen keyboard" when Touch Cover is attached under tiles mode???
The reason I want this is to use handwriting feature.

So far the only way I know how is if I fold the keyboard back. It senses the position of the keyboard and can activate the onscreen stuff.

I hope there has a way to bring onscreen keyboard without folding the touch cover back.

Yes.
Charms -> Settings -> Keyboard
When the Keyboard pop-up menu appears, choose Touch Keyboard and Handwriting Panel.
That always brings up the onscreen keyboard, even if an external keyboard is attached and working.

[Q] Keyboard Popping Up on Home Screen

Whenever I press the home button from any app, I get taken to the home screen like normal, but the keyboard always pops up. I'm using the stock launcher and I've tried a few keyboards including the stock google keyboard. It seems to always focus on the search bar at the top of the home screen on going home which brings the keyboard up. Pressing home should just take me home without opening the keyboard. Any ideas?

enable "show touches" in developer options. My guess is that there could be a touchscreen issue where it is registering touches at the search bar.

Nope, no touches on the search bar.
Edit: If I press home twice, the keyboard disappears.
Edit2: If I back out of an app instead of using the home button, I don't see the keyboard pop up.

[Q] Onscreen buttons??

Hi people,
Question? Did someone managed the script for using onscreen buttons (back, home & show programs)? I knew the Galaxy s5 can be showed the buttons by editing a script.
Thanks in advance!
You can add this line to your build.prop
qemu.hw.mainkeys=0
Note that the soft keys will cover the close all button in recents (in portrait) , some parts of the camera, and cause s-voice settings to force close

Plus it is pointless on a device that has hardware buttons. Just my two cents

Well to each his own. I personally don't like having to physically press the home button. That being said, I turned off the softkeys b/c the little glitches were bugging me.

I hate pressing the button as well, which is why I'm using SwipeHome (and now actually Pie Control which let's me do the same but with a smaller activation area) to just swipe up from above the button onto the screen. Works great!
Thanks guys, i like the onscreen buttons.
I hope in the future we can only put a single touch on the fingerprint/home button to go the home screen.

Access notification bar from home button dock?

When I had my LG G2 some time ago, I was able to customize the buttons on my dock. I was able to have a back, home, sadly no multitask button, but there was an option to have a button that would drop the notification bar.
I've been looking for an app, or solution since the Z5 is on the big side. I went through all the phones settings, but couldn't find the option. Anyone know of an app that may offer this functionality? I'm searching, but haven't found anything. I did find an app, but I'd rather a button added to my button dock that's always available.
Thanks
you would need root to do so.
Damn, is there any non root solution? Don't want to void warranty less than a week after buying it lol

you can install another launcher like nova launcher. There you can do everything. E.g. expand notification bar on swipe down or create shortcuts to open the bar...

Awesome, thanks for this. I already use nova launcher so looked through the settings. The best option I found was pressing the home button while already on the home screen and it'll drop the notification bar. Not exactly what I want, but gets the job done. The ideal solution would be to have a fourth, dedicated button beside the multitasking button that dropped the notification bar without having to be on the home screen. Just like the keyboard icon in the bottom right when a keyboard is open.
The G2 did this perfectly with the built in options. Wish about offered this on the stock Rom. Thanks for the tip GZA, at least I can do this from the home screen now.

Er, that's how Android has worked since at least Jellybean 4.1 (first Android version I ever had). Start with your finger just above the top of the screen and swipe down.

In Nova settings you find gestures and input. There is swipe down option. You can add expand notification there... But this feature could be in paid version only. Not sure...

Er that's how Android has always worked, and not what my question is. I'm looking for a solution to drop it without doing that as this phone is too tall.
